ncaa in a little while. our top stories -- new surveillance video just released this morning highlighting the so-called man in white who was with the suicide bombers at the airport in brussels. let's get right to nbc's keir simmons who has more on this. >> reporter: good morning. terrible news this morning. four people who were injured didn't make it through the weekend, taking the total who were killed in these attacks to 35. in a statement, a department official confirming that they now believe four americans are among the dead. meanwhile, police here this morning issuing a new appeal for the man in the white, the man wearing a white, seen in surveillance video at the airport. that appeal includes this video. that is among multiple developments this morning in the investigation. >> reporter: on his knees, at gunpoint, police believe this man provided false identity papers to three terrorists. this asa aman facilitating an i

network in europe. brussels police investigating last week's attacks at the airport and metro name being the suspects from a dramatic arrest. armed officers helping a child to safety, sending in a bomb disposal robot before dragging away the man they s. one man is expected to be involved in planning a terrorist attack. arrests across the european continent -- italy, france, belgium, where there were 13 house raids sunday, to the netherlands and germany. the tensions in belgium turned to confrontation with police. far right protesters branded fascists by opponents throwing missiles and flares. water cannon and riot police are pushing protesters back to avoid potential clashes. you can see them moving forward now. a march against fear has been

planned and canceled over security fears. brussels struggling to return to normality. the road to the airport remains closed. it is still not clear when flights will resume. and then there is the man in white seen at the airport with two suicide bombers. belgium media reporting police believe he's faycal cheffou. nbc news has not confirmed those reports. in 2014, a man by the same name posted an internet documentary about the mistreatment of muslim detaine detainees. this morning, six days after the airport attack, police haven't specified faycal cheffou's alleged role. arrested saturday, he faces charges of terrorist assassination or terrorist murder. this morning there is news of three more suspects charged. but the mystery still surrounds that man in white. the mr. is have pan who was seef the suicide bombers at the airport may still be out there.

keir simmons in brussels, thank you very much. more now on those four americans confirmed dead. nbc's gabe gutierrez is also in brussels and covering that part of the story. >> reporter: savannah, good morning. another somber day here in brussels. later today an interface memorial service is scheduled to remember the lives lost. this morning, the tributes are piling up for justin and stephanie schultz. president obama calling their family saying the couple epitomized all that was good about america. they met at vanderbilt university, became accountants, got married, moved abroad two years ago. on tuesday they were dropping stephanie's mom off at the brussels airport when the world shook. also killed at the check-in terminal, these dutch siblings headed to new york. they hoped to become american citizens. alex set to be married. >> monday i went to sleep hoping

i was going to pick up my aunt at the airport. >> reporter: this woman was heading to rhode island for a relative's funeral. instead, she texted family members this photo at the airport shortly before she died. but while families grieved, others are thankful. >> i'm just glad he's alive. >> reporter: this morning this man is out of his medically induced coma. in a facebook post his family describing how they burst into sobs of joy. he was with a group of mormon missionaries from utah. >> how you doing? >> i'm doing awesome. i'm feel good. >> reporter: this 20-year-old also improving today, his parents hoping to bring him back home later this week. >> this could have been how tragic it was for so many people. we're really lucky. really, really lucky. >> reporter: in addition to justin and stephanie schultz, overnight the state department confirmed that two more americans were among the dead.

their identities have not been released. matt and savannah? >> gabe gutierrez, thank you. we have to turn now to another devastating terror attack, this one targeting christians as they celebrating easter at a crowded park in pakistan. nbc's chief foreign correspondent richard engel is with us here in new york with the latest on this. richard, good morning. >> it seems like every day i'm on this show or another show talking about yet another terrorist attack. this one was uniquely horrific. 70 dead, according to some reports, which is just testimony to how crowded this park was and how powerful the explosive was as well. in pakistan this morning, the death toll had climbed to the dozens and the target was uniquely sinister, even for a terrorist attack. the suicide bomber attack a park in the city of lahore where christian families had gathered to celebrate easter sunday. witnesses said the explosion happened near rides in the park. hundreds were injured, mostly women and children. the attack was claimed by a

splinter group of the pakistani taliban whose spokesman told nbc news the group "proudly takes responsibility." speaking from an undisclosed location, the group said the intended targets were christian men celebrating easter. local television broadcast much of the grisly scene. analysts struggled to get in and out of the sites, the wounded carried out by first responders and civilians. in a statement the pakistani army said it is resolved to bring the killers to justice. but now those responsible are warning of more violence, saying this was the first in a series of planned attacks throughout the country. the u.s. state department condemned this "cowardly" act in the strongest possible terms. pakistan's punjab province has declared three days of mourning. to politics and a new feud in the presidential race

developing between donald trump and ted cruz. on the democratic side, bernie sanders is trying to capitalize on a clean sweep of three contests over the weekend. nbc news national correspondent peter zander er alexander is k eye on both races. >> reporter: barely a week until their next primary showdown in wisconsin, donald trump and ted cruz are clashing again over their personal lives as trump's foreign policy views are coming under knnew scrutiny today, telling "the new york times," in many years the u.s. has been the big stupid bully, systematically ripped off by everybody." for republicans, an encore of insults. >> he attacks my wife, he attacks my family, he goes to garbage and lies. >> reporter: ted cruz again blaming donald trump for what he called a tabloid smear, a "national enquirer" story suggesting cruz may have had extramarital affairs. trump denies involvement. >> it was their story, it was not my story. i have no idea whether it was

we've had lots of primaries and caucuses since iowa and new hampshire. wisconsin has its own day. huge opportunity for bernie sanders. if he can beat her there, then come two weeks later here into new york. she is still the heavy favorite but his big victory, continued big crowds, fund-raising, let's see what happens in wisconsin. a huge face-off on the democratic side. >> let's stay in wisconsin on the republican side. >> also huge for republicans. the first state since we've gone down to three -- trump, cruz, kasich -- all three are trying to win. we haven't had a state where all three are going for the vic tto. talk radio doesn't like him. if trump wins wisconsin, he gets even closer to being the nominee. if he loses to new york and other states become competitive as well. >> let me ask you to weigh in on this war of words between ted cruz and donald trump over each other's wives, now these rumors from the "national enquirer" over alleged infidelity. most people would think that

serious voters would be nauza nauseated by this. >> our politics has bin rough since the founding of the republic. it is not the first time personal lives have come up. it is a test for both of them. i'll be curious to see if they both continue this week to make this an emphasis. i don't think it is smart for ted cruz to fight with donald trump over this, but he clearly thinks he leads to something. personally he must try to fight back. also donald trump does have a problem with female voters and how female voters respond to this is a big question now and in the general for donald trump if he is the nominee. >> as much as i'm sure ted cruz does not like these attacks, it isn't as though he responded once and then let it go. every chance they get, he's saying that this ridiculous, this is outrageous. so does he see something of a political opportunity there as well? >> it is where the conversation is for some voters and some of the media, and it is where he feels he wants to fight donald trump now. but i don't think he'll beat donald trump playing this game. either if you are a republican

or if you are the nominee if you are the democrat. i think issues will matter more. i'd be surprised if both of them try to keep this going this week. >> you start to see a trickle of key republicans like jeb bush and john mccain and lindsey graham a couple of weeks ago moving over to ted cruz, trying to stump donald trump. there was an article in the "new york times" yesterday saying they expect cruz to lose the presidency, but then they also expect trump to lose it, and to lose it in an uglier, more divisive fashion. this lose with cruz faction figures that a reset of the party after a cruz defeat would be possible, whereas trump might not leave them with much of a party to reset. do you agree with that? >> there are a lot of republicans who think that. look at the polls, neither ted cruz or donald trump today is position to win an election. republicans in the so-called establishment are saying let's find a way to keep control of the house, maybe keep control of the senate and minimize our losses in rebranding the party.

a lot of republicans think it is a dangerous thing but a lot of voters think it is a good thing. that's why they are the leading candidates now. >> thank you, mark halperin. an american airlines co-pilot was pulled off a plane and taken into custody moments before takeoff on suspicion that he was drunk. nbc's ron mott is at the detroit metropolitan airport for us. ron, good morning. >> reporter: hey, savannah, good morning to you. this probably happens more than any of us wants to know. a pilot showing up for work under the influence of alcohol and officials here in detroit say that's what happened here over the weekend. an american airlines co-pilot pulled off an early morning flight from detroit to philadelphia. >> they had him handcuffed and they were putting him into the vehicle. >> reporter: this passenger said the pilot announced there was a "problem with the co-pilot seat." at first she laughed it off. >> oh, there's a police car. they're coming to get somebody. and then we saw them walk on, and went, oh, they really are. >> reporter: tsa agents spotted the co-pilot acting strangely

and notified airport authorities that they suspected he was drunk. it happens about once a month according to the faa. a pilot or co-pilot is found to be drunk on the job. faa regulations include a so-called bottle to throttle rule, no flying within eight hours of consuming alcohol or a blood alcohol level of .04. the co-pilot of the american airlines flight allegedly testing above the legal limit, according to an faa statement. american airlines canceled the flight leaving a number of spring breakers without a ride. one posting spring break busted. #thanks. in a statement, american apologized writing, this is a serious matter and we are assisting local law enforcement and the federal aviation administration with the investigation. >> everyone was talking about it. they're kind of stunned and trying to figure out what it was. i'm glad we're safe and they got him. >> reporter: the unidentified pilot is believed to be in his early 50s. while the official rule is eight hours from bottle to throttle, the faa says a more conservative

so where does it go? this morning we are going undercover to find out. i'm on vacation renting cars and staying in hotels. but when it's time to go -- let's be honest, you're packing up, you're rushing out of here, especially if you have kids, and you may leave something behind. it happens in rental cars, too. you're racing to the airport, trying to catch a flight, and you forget something in here. we depend on the honesty of others to return it, but will they? i'm testing it out. buying brand-new ipads, purposely leaving them behind in major hotel chains. we're going to leave the ipads right out in the open. in fact, i'm going to leave it here right on the desk. you can't miss it. in the cars, we're putting them right here under the seat but sticking out a little bit. hard to miss. on each device i turn on the "find my ipad" function to track them. the next day i check out of the hotels. >> thank you so much.

>> reporter: and return the cars. >> returning another one. >> reporter: when i go back later to get the ipads, will the companies have them? i checked out yesterday and i forgot my ipad in my room. >> oh, my goodness. let me get somebody to help you. >> reporter: right away -- good news. this doubletree. >> you found it! you never know when a worker would steal this kind of thing. >> oh, i would not dare think one of our employees would do that but i'm glad she was able to find it though. >> reporter: in fact, i get lucky at most of the hotels. the only hotel with trouble -- this marriott. >> i apologize. we were not able to find it right now. >> reporter: the "find my ipad" signal went offline. we still don't know where it is. marriott later telling nbc news, we have well established procedures and a very high success rate of locating lost items. they're now looking into our missing ipad to see if any changes should be made. and we have even worse luck with the rental cars.

for information. you can see him there. it includes this video. he is walking with two of the airport suicide bombers minutes after this footage is recorded. those explosives detonated. there have been reports that police believe they apprehended him. that now appears that may not be the case. meanwhile, reports this morning that three more suspects have been charged. and news from a state department official that the americans now believe that three americans -- four americans died in those attacks, including stephanie and justin schultz who were just going to the airport to drop their mom off. you mentioned in the news, too, the four people who were injured didn't make it overnight bringing the death toll now to 35. pakistan has declared three days of mourning for the victims of an easter terrorist bombing in a children's park. the suicide attack in lahore killed at least 70 people, many of them women and children.

about 300 people were wounded. a splinter group of the pakistani taliban claims responsibility saying the intended targets were christian men celebrating easter. pakistan's army is vowing to bring the killers to justice. family members jumped from their windows to escape a fire overnight in a denver apt building. they were trapped on the second and third floors. 11 people suffered minor injuries from the jump. restaurant chains and food stores will get more time to start posting calorie counts on their menus. food and drug administration now says it will delay the new rules until 2017. they were supposed to go into effect at the end of this year. there has been a strong opposition from many in the prepared food industry. the rules were passed as part of the health care overhaul in 2010. a carjacker tried to pull a fast one on police, even after their high-speed chase had ended. los angeles police say the suspect stole a pick-up truck from another woman in her own driveway.

she led them through a residential area driving on curbs and over lawns. when she was finally forced to stop she came out with her hands up, but then tried to jump into the driver's seat of the police cruiser. she was tackled and arrested. the truck's owner watched the chase live on tv and said she was just praying that nobody got hurt. they got their woman there. as an athlehlete knows, som losses hurt more than others. a spring training game between chicago and seattle when a cloud of bees swarmed the field in mesa, arizona. cubs outfielder jason hayworth tried to escape the onslaught by climbing the fence. he got stung more than ten times. however, he still managed to swat a two-run homer but his cubs did end up losing 12-9. that had to really hurt on top of all those stinks that he felt later on. >> you ever get stung more than once? >> no. >> never more than once. >> never been stung by a bee?

your friends think golf was cool? >> you know, it was the same deal. i had a group of friends from school. we played all sports together and i was really only one with maybe one or two others that enjoyed golf. others really liked kind of the action of the other sports. i loved being able to control my own destiny, putting in my owen work and being able to see that kind of come through. the olympics are coming up this summer. golf's back in them for the first time in a long time. again looking at your jacket there. how would standing on a podium with a gold medal around your neck hearing the national anthem compare to standing down at augusta as they place that jacket on your shoulders? >> difficult to tell, but i can't imagine anything better than standing up there knowing that you've accomplished something for your country, for your family, for yourself. like an olympic podium. walking the opening ceremonies with the best athletes in the world is going to be maybe the coolest golf experience of my life. if i get the chance to stand on

time for a little spring cleaning for your beauty routine. we have some super simple ways to clean everything in your make-up bag. good morning. >> good morning. >> starting with cleaning your make-up bag. >> the bag itself. no one thinks to clean this. but if you have a make-up bag that is kind of nylon or plasticy, just flip it inside out. you have all of this dirty makeup that's been on there for probably years like caked on. just take a make-up wipe and start just rubbing everything off. you can just see it's already coming off. really gross. if you have a cloth make-up bag, just throw it in the washing machine with the rest of your laundry. >> you wouldn't worry that it would get on your clothes? >> just do it with today. probably be fine. let's talk lip sticks. >> this is really, really gross. so if you have a lipstick that you keep reapplying after you eat, basically what happens is you're pressing your lipstick on to the food bacteria that's on your lips. then that bacteria is living on

your lipstick itself. >> how lovely. >> that's disgusting. all you do is take a disinfecting wipe that's usually used for cosmetics. don't anything with chemicals again because you put it on your mouth. just wipe it. ideally you should do that once or twice when you re-apply. >> how do you make sure it doesn't get all smushed or whatever? >> you just use a wipe, gently press gent against it. if it has alcohol it will kill the bacteria and still keep the shape of your lipstick. >> let's do brushes and blenders. this sponge works well when you apply your makeup, but it is a sponge so it absorbs all the foundation in the makeup you put in it. mix liquid soap with warm water in a bowl. >> dish washing soap? >> hand soap is fine. anything that will start to get all of the -- >> sudsy.

>> yeah. you can already see the ball is pretty gross. that's all been putting on your face. >> okay. >> then you just rinse it off in warm water. >> warm water. okay. then dry it out? >> just let it dry once this is good to go. >> it looks better. it does. talk to me about the brushes. >> the brushes. you should be doing this about once a week. you can mix olive oil an dish soap in a little bowl and just start to rub the makeup brush around in this solution. this will start to get all of the grime off of it. basically what happens is when your makeup brushes are dirty, you have all of the oils on your face and everything going into the brush and mixing with the foundation. it works as a breeding ground for bacteria. >> i've got 30 seconds. >> rinse it off, lay it out. for a blow drier, you just want to use a toothbrush and get into the lint and get all of that

gross stuff out of there. >> then throw out that toothbrush. >> then throw out the toothbrush. for a hairbrush, take a pen and loosen up all of the hair. you can use a comb or scissors to get the rest of it. just work it through. >> last, but not least, the curling. >> gets gunky with hairspray. use steel wool. not anything with detergent in it but steel wall. clea . >> thank you. >>this is "today" on nbc> . katie vo: she works as many hours as the guys do.

all right. and that rain has been causing some issues on the roads all morning. jessica boyington is here with details. that's right. katy. we are watching delays on 95 in laurel, new jersey. we had earlier fire department activity blocking off this ramp from 295 northbound heading to route 73. so that's what you're seeing right here. now we have a really slow go near the exit ramp. you can see actually with a fire engine there that made its way to the right-hand shoulder. you can see more flashing lights there as well. we have police activity on both sides of the red getting on and off from route 73 from 295. and big delays headed northbound as well. thank you, jessica. today is the final day to register to vote in the pennsylvania primary on april 26. and this year you can register online. to register, you must be 18 years old, a u.s. citizen and a pennsylvania resident for at least a month prior to the election. since today is the deadline, it's too late to register by mail but you can do it online or

taking a look at the headlines, an american airlines co-pilot was detained this weekend at detroit's metropolitan airport suspected of being drunk. the faa says the co-pilot was scheduled to fly a plane from detroit to philadelphia but was stopped at a security checkpoint. he is suspected of having a blood alcohol level above the legal limit. american airlines spokeswoman says the flight was canceled and customers were put on other flights. american says it is helping authorities with their investigation. restaurant chains and food stores will get more time to start posting calorie counts on their menus. food and drug administration says it will delay the rules until some time in 2017. they were supposed to go into effect some time this year. there is strong opposition from the prepared food industry.

through the clouds this afternoon. the winds are really kicking into gear, 27-mile-an-hour winds at 5:00 today. all right, jessica boyington, how are the roads going? slow going with the rain? >> there is slow going from the rain and a few accidents. there's one here on the schuylkill expressway right around south street. so our camera, what you're seeing here is approaching the accident scene. that will run to the left-hand shoulder and there was a lane earlier taken out of the opposite direction headed westbound. so we were seeing delays in both directions. eastbound right now from the vine street expressway, 295 just past this scene is an 11-minute trip with average speeds down in the 30s. we are still watching delays at the philly international airport. 16 minutes. newark even a 40-minute delay due to weather and low ceilings for arriving flights. katy? thank you for that. new this morning, philadelphia police arrested a man they say fire shot at one home and
