>> we're also talking about that stormranger10, we drove it down towards dover in camden county. this is where we start to get a closer view, a more detailed view of this storm heading our way. it's the only mobile radar and we're now able to see these storms moving in from maryland, one area of heavier rain, that's going to be moving into kent county soon, if you're in walker, 6:29, collins beach 6:40, aside from that, we have showers in west chester county, and camden county. we'll zoom into lancaster county, a little over two inches an hour, so heavy rain in lancaster and moving into parts of berks county now. a lot of cloud cover, maybe some drizzle here and there, but we are watching more, this area of thunderstorms approaching from the south and west. the precip right here, anywhere from about one to two inches.

for the most part, we have a lot of lightning, some heavy rain and that heavy rain is going to be in the forecast for the next few days. we have a first alert out because of it. chester county, berks county, all of delaware. so we expect this rainy pattern to continue, some rain could be heavy at times, i don't think everyone will be seeing all this heavy rain, but the areas we first mentioned in the first alert could be seen with some localized flash flooding, with any heavy thunderstorms that we happen to see roll through. with a closer look at the timing, we go over to glenn "hurricane" schwartz. >> that's a pretty impressive area of thunderstorms moving into your area, and just going to get better and better as we go through the evening hours, look at the hour by hour forecast. about 7:30, we're seeing some of that already coming into newcastle county, delaware, parts of new chester county,

where the first alert is. that one area may weaken as another area moves up from the south. look at the sides of that mess, that is coming up toward chester county. and you can see some of that heaviest rain and that's why we picked certain counties for the first alert. that's what neighborhood weather is about. we're not alerting everybody, because threat is not equal. then by tomorrow morning, we have areas of rain, the worst of it still to the west, but it's going to be chilly, it's going to be windy. 65 degrees at 5:00 a.m. in philadelphia, only 62 in p.a. suburbs, 60 in the lehigh valley. we'rine this is a wind signal for new jersey. more on who's going to get the heaviest rain and when in a few minutes. >> you can track the rain with your phone with your nbc 10 app. as we expect, lots of rain for days.

can't even make it to her car. isn't it tough? >> donald trump also mentioned the fact that ted cruz endorsed him for the first time at a public event, calling the endorsement, quote, very good. want to go to breaking news in south carolina, that's where two children and a teacher were hurt at a shooting at an elementary school there. a teenager is in custody. it is believed he shot and killed hid father before opening fire at the school this afternoon. the two injured students and teacher are expected to survive. nbc nightly news with lester holt is working this story and we'll have parent reaction to the shootings, that's coming up at 6:30. the philadelphia park -- parking authority suspended him yesterday after it learned of a second sexual harassment against him dating back to 2006.

>> tonight the bucks county father is charged in the shooting death of his 2-year-old son. the child shot himself in their millford township home earlier this month. deanna durante is joining us live from bucks county, where the father faced charged just a few hours ago. and that father was warned about a gun in the house? >> reporter: according to these documents the grandfather warned his soften that his great grandson liked guns and that his guns should be put away. and evidence shows that both the mother and father showed him how to hold a gun. >> 2-year-old benjamin smith picked up a loaded gun and shot and killed himself in his father's bedroom. >> he left a loaded gun out and his 2-year-old son was groomed to understand that guns could be held and handled, toy guns at the least. and unfortunately, that presents

this area of showers and thunderstorms just lined up, coming straight into especially delaware, and that's where we sent stormranger10, looking at some of the heaviest cells, like coming into delaware already and as we track it from middletown on into the east, it will be coming into pennsville about 7:05, carney's point at 7:15. another cell coming into chester county, coatesville at 6:45, about 7:00 in downingtown and if it holds together about 7:30 in pottstown. again we're able to concentrate just on the strongest storms, get closer to them so we can provide more detail and get really up to date live pictures. we have a first alert out for all of delaware. berks county and chester county, through friday because of this

heavy rain that's going to be coming in, wave after wave of it. so it's not a continuous rain, but you're going to get sick and tired of it by the time we get to sunday. a flash flood threat in parts of the area. it's possible we could expand that first alert if necessary, but it's really going to be bad west of us. look at the winds here, 20 miles an hour, in atlantic city, already gusting over 30. it's going to get really nasty out there, if it's not nasty enough for you already. as we go through the evening, you can see the areas of heavier rain coming up from baltimore, through dover and wilmington and into the morning rush, areas of heavier rain, again, the worst of it, if you're traveling towards washington you may want to reconsider, because they're expecting some real serious flooding there. as we go through thursday, we have more areas of rain coming in, now we see it moving in off

of the ocean. the flow is so much out of the east, all the way up through the atmosphere, that the rain starts coming in that way. there we are into friday, you can't get rid of this thing, now look at the forecast, we go through the night tonight, we have the rain in delaware and then spreading into much of the rest of the area, with temperatures in the 50s, watch what happens with the temperatures as we go through the day tomorrow. it's hardly going anywhere, and really chilly during the day. here's tropical storm matthew, 60-mile-per-hour winds, just entering the caribbean sea, and expected to become a hurricane, there's even a category 2 hurricane. there's tuba and the first commuter models showing this turn to the north and so potentially affecting and getting pretty close to the united states at some point next week. remember, that was for next wednesday. and look at the weekend forecast, sunday is the best
