were both involved in the fire. in one was hurt. investigators are looking for what started both fires. this morning police are looking for two men who robbed a couple in their own home. two people broke into the house around 8:00 last night. they stole nearly $300 from the couple. one of the robbers put a gun to the neck of the husband who is legally blind. it gave investigators a good look of the attackers and get away car. >> warning people to be vigilant. at least a handful of burglaries over the last two months are kektded. police say they cut glass to get

through a home. one woman never heard the sound of footsteps next to her baed. >> the drawers had been pulled out. >> when they came in between 7:00 and 8:30 last week they took a ladder i had in the bushes, cut the screen right there. >> police say the burglars are stealing jewelry, cash and coins. officers have stepped up and marked patrols. philadelphia police want you to take a look at this video of robbers holding up a little cesars. the two armed men took $300 from the store in west philadelphia and now here is what you don't see. while they were inside a third

under new health regulations the city will increase the annual fee from 50 to $300. the city health official wants to limit the number of stores offering tobacco in low income neighborhoods. american airlines confirms it will reduce flights beginning in january. the airline is cutting 30 to 40 flights per day. right now they operate several hundred flights per day. the move is part of a system wide scheduled adjustment. it will remain american's fourth busiest hub. members of the jewish faith are observing yom kippur. the congregation is holding services throughout the day. it continues until sun down. yom kippur is known as a time of

coverage. the election is now less than four weeks away. for updates check out the nbc 10 app. north carolina is bracing for more flooding as rivers continue to rise in the wake of hurricane matthew. the storm is being blamed for at least 34 deaths in the south. more than half of those deaths were in north carolina. the president declared a national disaster. in florida the time to register to vote was extended six more days because of evacuation orders. the governor spoke about what people are dealing with there right now. >> i cannot emphasize to you more, there are a lot of people there that are hurting and living in shelters and preparing for major major floodings as we speak. >> the governor says 200,000

homes and buildings are without power. that includes two schools that are serving as shelters for flood victims. yesterday a team of firefighters rescued more than a dozen dogs from an animal shelter. many came from a truck stranded by the flood waters. volunteers from our area are pitching in to help victims of hurricane matthew. 80 volunteers have been working in hard hit areas since the weekend. the american red cross jersey region is adding to the team of nearly two dozen already in the southeast. >> to see people in discuss and i'm fine myself but you want to help those people. >> i have been through this before with hurricane sandy. i'm glad i was able to come here and help. >> they say they are ready to
