it's friday evening, i'm jim rosen field. two young lives lost, both passengers in the same car, the crash happened early this morning on the roosevelt boulevard on front street s nbc 10's ted greenberg spoke to the victim's friends. >> reporter: jim, police say one of the drivers involved was responding and rushing to a crisis involving his father when he ran a red light here at this intersection prompting an accident that killed his older brother and a teenaged girl. >> i still can't believe it. >> reporter: the pain is overwhelming for friends of 16-year-old maggie goloff, one of two teenagers killed in this car in a car crash in olney arrange 2:00 a.m. >> she'll always be missed and she can never be replaced. >> reporter: they brought their grief to front street and the boulevard at the scene of the crash, which also took the life

of 19-year-old ozmond zellnov. police sigh that ozmosmond's brother was behind the wheel when he ran the traffic light. police say at the time, the teen was rushing to temple hospital to see his father who had just been robbed and attacked while making a food delivery. amil stanton witnessed the crash. >> shaheen and a 55-year-old woman who was driving the suv suffered minor injuries. the boulevard has long been considered one of the most dangerous roads in america. according to statistics from penn dot, more than 60 people have lost their lives on the roadway in the past five years. maggie goloff's friends are heart broken that she is now among the victims. >> i wanted to grow up the rest of my life with her. but god had another plan for us,

i guess. >> reporter: both teens who died were from northeast philadelphia, no charges have been filed. police say a teen aged student died shortly after being restrained by a school employee. that teen died at the wordsworth academy last night, that's a school for teens with behavioral issues. right now the school says it is shocked and saddened but can't comment about the investigation. new jersey drivers will soon start to feel the pain at the pump. governor chris christie stein signed the gas tax hike into law about 90 minutes ago, that means gas will go up about 23 cents a gallon. the extra millions of dollar also help pay for transportation projects. to our weather now, a nice friday afternoon, but it's about

to get a whole lot cooler when you wake up in the morning, in fact down right chilly. glenn "hurricane" schwartz now with a look at a frost i morning. >> temperatures already dropping, 59 degrees in many of the pennsylvania suburbs after highs in the 60s today and frost advisory in effect for many of the counties in pennsylvania away from the i-95 corridor and much of south jersey until 9:00 a.m. in philadelphia, we're starting off the day around 43 and then warming up into the upper 60s, look at that, some of the pa suburbs, chester, bucks, montgomery counties averaging about 36, burks county lehigh valley averaging about 35 to start the day and averaging around 40 in new jersey but some places down into the mid 30s and then everybody has sunshine and a beautiful afternoon. what warmup we're going to have next week, we'll get into those details in a few minutes.

to decision 2016 now, two more women came forward with sexual harassment allegations against donald trump today. a woman told "the washington post," trump put his hand up her skirt at a club in the early '99s. and an apprentice contest stand. >> i pulled back and walked to another part of the room. he then walked up, grabbed my hand and walked me into the bedroom. i walked out. >> she says he was offered a job at a trump owned golf course, she said she did not plan to come forward until he heard trump make lewd comments on a tape that was released last week. earlier today trump and his running mate mike pence promised to release evidence that proves the sexual allegations against trump are false. the trump campaign said this

morning they would release it in a few hours. so far they have not. trump did defend helimself to a crowd in north carolina today. >> as you have seen, right now i'm being viciously attacked with lies and smears. it's a phony we'deal. i have no idea who these women are. i have no idea. and i think you all know i have no idea because you understand me for a lot of years. >> also today, trump targeted carlos slim, a mexican billionaire who owns a share of the "new york times," the times published a story that featured two women accusing trump publicly. hillary clinton is not campaigning today, she's fund rasing out west. but she did appear here on the ellen show this afternoon on nbc 10. >> i don't want anybody to think

this election is over because it's so unpredictable up until now. >> president obama campaigned for clinton in ohio. president saying trump was making excuses for his drop in the polls, he also took issue with trump's promise to try and put hillary clinton in jail. >> this is somebody who threatens to jail his political opponents? or silence the media who welcomes russian meddling in our electoral process, and is now suggesting that if the election doesn't go his way, it's not because of all the stuff he said, but it's because it's rigged. and that's a problem. >> and the president also said trump now can't be the champion of the people because he spent years showing no regard for them. tomorrow is the last day to register to vote for new jersey residents, ma pennsylvania's deadline came and went this past

week. a bitter battle in the u.s. senate seat for pennsylvania is playing out. take a look at the latest poll released by bloomberg yesterday. mcginty as 47% of the vote and pat toomey has 45%. the commercials are different from anything we have seen yet. democrat mcginty doesn't bother to mention republican toomey while toomey puts even more distance between himself and donald trump. >> i have a lot of disagreements with donald trump. i have been very clear about that. what's important for pennsylvanians is having a senator who will stand up to any president's bad ideas. >> reporter: senator pat toomey is walking the tight rope just like many other republican candidates right now. >> donald trump has become toxic to a number of voters that he needs to win the election, but donald trump's supporters are

loyal and energized and stand to punish toomey and other senate candidates. >> reporter: if they don't support tim. dr. matthew turnbull is head of the political science department, he says with just four -- the race here in pennsylvania is critically important. >> the polls indicate that toomey is very competitive, that the race is very close. so he's trying to find a way to get through the next 3 1/2 weeks, and eke out a victory in the state where hillary clinton is running quite well. >> reporter: democrat katy mckinity is riding clinton's coat tail. >> this is what i know about katie mcginty, like me she has white working class roots. >> toomey isn't even mentioned. >> republicans right now are struggling with a way to deal with their nominee. so in a situation like that, there's really no reason for

mcginty to do or say anything about it because it seems to be playing out on its own. >> and that leaves candidates like toomey pretty much out there on their own, so to speak, trying not to get tangled up with trump but not wanting to alienate any of his supporters either. the election is just 25 days away, the candidates will continue to travel the country to try the get your vote. this weekend septa workers will decide whether to go on strike, could impact polls on election day. the union represents bus drivers along with frolly operators on sunday. if they approve a strike, ill could begin as soon as november 1. if they do go on strike, they will not return on november 8 for election day. the union is fighting to increase the cap on pensions. people standing in a long line this morning waiting to get into the new whole foods in fairmount. the store is part of a

development called rodin square and it includes luxury apartments, a cvs and a branch of the hospital. and new at 6:00, another south jersey company moving it's headquarters to camden and cashing in on is state's tax break. manufacturing facilities near river road in camden. the war fiter filtration compan based in camden. the company received $108 million in tax credits. in the past two years, nine other companies received tax breaks to move to camden. resin tech will join several other companies.

there they are all on your screen right there. a montgomery county manage will spend a decade behind bars for filming kids changing at dorney park & wild water kingdom. former pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane was convicted of perjury charges and now she's hoping she can serve her time on house arrest. today district attorney kevin steel says she doesn't qualify for that because she faces a potential prison sentence. she'll find out her sentence coming up in ten days. next on nbc 10 news at 6:00, money to make nj transit safer. tonight the push for funding following that deadly crash in hoboken. could the eagles be without their best offensive player against washington? danny has the latest on the nfc

new jersey lawmakers want the federal government to give it $10 million to make its triangles safe ever. new jersey transit needs that mumpb to make their trains safer. an nj transit train was traveling twice is speed limit when it crashed into the platform in hoboken. >> reporter: positive train control is gps technology designed to control trains not installed on the tracks leading into hoboken station. >> there really needs to be down a little bit. there's too many accidents going on these days. >> reporter: new jersey transit and railroads across the country have until 2018 to meet a federal deadline for installation. so the heat is on for new jersey transit to get its act together.

finding rusting bumpers like these today in hoe brokening. a warning from the u.s. transportation secretary that a federal takeover is not out of the question. >> we are actually very much engaged in the washington metro transit authority. because their state safety oversight organization has basically failed. >> reporter: for all railroads it's a complex technology, installation already delayed three years, for nj transit, the first testing should begin in december, and by then, all the equipment should then be on hand to install on the system. a wilmington elementary school is battling a road problem. teachers complained about

breathing issues so the district hired two independent air quality consultants, they determined the problem was confined two two rooms. >> if the building itself were inhealthy, we have a planning to relocate our kids if need be. we don't want to do that if we don't have to. at this point in time we have no reason to. >> teachers union wants the air quality tested on a regular basis to make sure the air quality is improving and the school is save. the health department is also keeping an eye on the school. we had some pretty nasty weather last weekend. this weekend, a totally different story, and we have been promising you this all week, so it's no surprise. sunshine just about everywhere. temperatures starting to drop. we are seeing temperatures into the 50s in a few spots, let's see what we have at chester, montgomery and bucks county,

salisburiville 57, west call language 55, 58 at unionville. 66 in chester heights, 57 in melbourne, 59 in bed minister. all those places in the 50s are going to be in the 30s by tomorrow. there's going to be some patchy frost overnight as a result. not everywhere. but especially in those suburban area. perhaps some early morning fog and low clouds on sunday, then we have 80-degree temperatures on is way next week. the frost advisory across much of new jersey and also pennsylvania, away from the big cities for storm morning. one of the reasons, the clear skies, we don't see any kind of significant moisture headed this way, and that includes in washington, for the eagles game, it looks to be fairly sunny,

temperatures rising up through the 70s during the game so kind of warm for football. the temperature trend shows that our high on sunday, about 74, but then near 80 on monday, 83 tuesday, 84 wednesday, the record high on wednesday is only 80. so we got a pretty good chance of setting a record there. we have temperatures that are going to be dropping through the 30s and into the low to mid 30s in the monk, redding at 35, allentown 35. quaker town 37 in the morning. then we start warming up through the afternoon, again, everybody's got sunshine all day, the weekend forecast, after the early morning fog and clouds on sunday, we warm up, over saturday, the only exception of getting into the 70s would be at the jersey shore. and for the 10-day forecast, we go from the 60s to the 80s, as

you see, tuesday and wednesday, 80s with sunshine. a lot of people are going to enjoy that. but then we have moisture coming in. first with some showers possible on thursday, then increasing chances of rain friday and saturday, and look at those high temperatures from friday into next weekend. so enjoy this weekend. thank you, hurricane. coming up in sports, two pieces, both the eagles and hurricanes are less than healthy. and it's opening night for the flyers, who will play late into the night on the west coast. we'll set the scene next.

once the nfl has not played a division opponent yet. and that changes when they visit the redskins. he is expected to play, cox missed wednesday's practice but has participated. he has a hamstring injury will be a game-time decision, ryan matthews missed today's practice with an illness. going behind enemy lines, the red skins leading receiver hasn't practiced all week because of a concussion, he's unlikely to play sunday. a lot of jews will be on big v on sunday. head coach doug pederson has confidence in his second round pick.
