the police chief tells us two men are in custody. this all started before 1:30 when a man was suspected of shoplifting. he was chased to this two story home. police went inside. when they noticed a strong odor and saw what they believed to be drugs the house was evacuated. state investigators arrived. after a thorough search there are suspicions of a meth lab were confirmed. >> and in their expert opinion it was a meth lab. they are calling it a hot one meth lab. that is one lab, one pot at a time. >> reporter: police also tell us they have found heroin and a

hi. >> yeah. the forecast looks great again today. yesterday we had a high of 82 degrees in philadelphia. today a little warmer than that in our afternoon. look where we are, 72 degrees. the average for today is 66. it is still morning. we are looking at temperatures in the afternoon that will be making its way into the 80s. atlantic city up to 75 degrees. it is helping temperatures stay up as we move through your afternoon but not quite as warm in the mid-to late part of your day. look at this nice tight view of your area. it will be a dry one tloud your day. we are tracking the pressure helping pump in that warm air which continues to raise the temperatures and put us in that record territory. in fact, that's the focus for today, record territory. some may set a record for heat and others will be close to that by later on in the day.

we are looking at the heat continuing. you can see the forecast. the 80s not gone quite yet. we will start to see change as rain moves into the forecast. that's when we start to track the temperatures, slipping back down. it is feeling more like fall than summer. coming up we'll take a closer look at when the temperatures drop. we'll track the chances of rain as well with your laters futust model. looking for a man who shot and killed a 30-year-old. police were called around 11:30 last night. they believe the shooting stemmed from an earlier argument. there are no arrests. the driver of a car is dead after crashing into a tractor trailer. nbc 10 on the scene near montgomery drive this morning. the accident happened just before midnight. they tell us the impact threw the victim from the car which then flipped over.

the truck driver was not hurt. time now to get a late morning check on the roads. jessica, what are you seeing out there? >> moving through center city right now we are watching the expressway around 24th street. we had an accident on the off ramp. we are dealing with delays because of the work. crews are moving through the westbound side. that's why it is starting to back up over on the vine. so we'll see a little bit of a delay and maybe delays around part of the area bridges. betsy ross bridge slow. there is an accident on old lancaster road. moving over the new jersey and lawrence township the 95 township ramp is closed. new jersey roads look great. here is 295.

continuing. we have pushed forward to a front line position held by iraqi troops. we are just outside a village about 30 miles south of mosul. this is an ongoing operation. iraqi troops think they cleared most of this village from isis which has been here about two years. there is still some isis presence. you're seeing people leaving the towns. they are afraid this operation is ongoing. there still could be snipers inside. there could be a suicide bomber waiting for a last chance. this is how the operation is unfolding. iraqi forces advance. they take a village and once they feel they have sufficient cleared it they leapfrog to the next and the next until they reach mosul. what happens in mosul is still a big question mark. you have seen the people leaving

chestnut hill still under the 50s, barely at 69. already into the mid-70s with the expectation we'll see numbers bump all the way up to the 80s again. remember, average for this time of year, mid-to upper 60s. we are way warmer than where we should be. high pressure dominating that region. delaware neighborhoods, wilmington 72. a little further south and still tapping into the 70s as well. lewis beach at 77 these won't warm a ton more into your afternoon making their way close to the low 80s outside. this is a wider view than we saw a few minutes ago showing it's not just us in the clear but we are seeing the whole area under the clear conditions. a very nice forecast. we'll see a few clouds heading

into wednesday. overall the forecast all about the 80s because of the high pressure. so record heat possible for our day tuesday. still announced records at 85 degrees. the forecast 83. we will be close. not calling for the areas to break. you can see we are looking at the. a little warmer than the record. 82 for allentown and 83 trenton. passing those low 80s that are currently set records. this is a hot day across the board for us especially considering we are in october and it's feeling more like september. hour by hour we move through your forecast here. i didn't put anything on the board because we won't see any changes yet. they won't make their way through our neck of the woods until tuesday. we start to drag the clouds in. i'll be surprised if we see any rain though.

moisture does get near and we will see clouds moving throughout the day. there we are at 6:00 on your wednesday. still the clouds, not yet seeing the rain. watch as we move into thursday here. could see a wet commute for some spots. this is southern new jersey and up along the shore. some spotty showers moving through. those chances will continue on and off throughout the day spotting through allentown and building out to the west of us by your evening thursday . as we move into friday it will increase a bit more. chances of rain certainly in the forecast here. it takes a couple more days. we start to see the cool down thursday into friday. we go from 78 thursday to 68 friday. chance of showers breaking away by your weekend. by your weekend we are back to the low 60s which we will continue into your next workweek. >> thank you. october is adopt a shelter

the search far shoplifter in delaware county leads police to find something they probably weren't expecting, a meth lab inside a home. monique braxton is live with more. monique, bring us up to speed. >> reporter: hey, vai, police tell us it has lead to the arrest of three people, two men, one woman now in custody. police say a man who lived ton first floor was suspected of shoplifting. he was chased from this house. police say once inside they noticed a strong odor and saw what they believed to be drugs. the house was evacuated. investigators conducted a thorough search and discovered what is used to make meth also known as a pot one meth lab.

looking at temperature wise. 77 by 8:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. rather. 80 for delaware. aim for new jersey dropping to the upper 60s to low 70s. through the shore temperatures into the upper 70s through this afternoon. very comfortable forecasts both in the afternoon and even in the evening. it is not something we get to say. clear conditions in the forecast for us as we move throughout the rest of today. you can see that on the radar and satellite. sunshine today, some clouds returning wednesday and then chances of rain back in the forecast. we'll take a closer look at that rain coming up in a few minutes. >> 21 days to go until voting

college in blue bell. the third and final presidential debate happens. look for live reports beginning this afternoon on nbc 10 news. one of the defendants in the bridgegate trial. prosecutors will continue their cross-examination of former port authority. he claimed on the stand he was mislead by the witness. he already pleaded guilty to being ark tech to shut down the lanes on the george washington bridge. he says he was taking orders from the koe defendant who was governor's chief of staff at the time. and new this morning, more than 70 million social security recipients will see a small increase in benefits. they announced a 0.3 cost of living raise today.

>> i trained in gymnastics since i was four years old. i became world champion and i reached most of my goals. i decided to move on and become a normal college student and be able to cheer on the girls this summer. it was weird not competing but so fun to cheer them on and see them do so well. >> we were talking about how different it is, watching as a spectator. tell us who is taking part in the kelloggs tour. >> it had an amazing cast. it was myself and past olympians and we have the mens olympics teams. it is a lot of different types of gymnastics going ochblt it is amazing. >> when you become a college student to do this tour do you have to retrain yourself and get back into gymnastics shape?

>> yes. when they asked me to be a part of the kellogg's tour i got to get back in gymnastics shape. it was fun to see what i could do and get back in shape. >> i'm sure you're asked all of the time what kind of advice you give. their moms are watching or their dads are watching. they may want to compete in the olympics what would you want to tell them? >> i would tell them looking back on my myself i had the dream of going to the olympics. when i was nine years old is when it first formed. when i made that dream it sort of became a goal. it was something that was super important. it kept me motivated and kept me pushing where i wanted to get and what i wanted to achief. if you set goals and work really hard to get there you can become anything you want. >> what do you study in college? what do you study in school?
