professors. these professors get along with the here locally. that helped the situation, they weren't going to interrupt the homecoming festivities. those homecoming festivities are beginning right now. we're live at the university, nbc 10 news. all right also tonight more breaking developments in the bridgegate trial. >> one of the defendants testified that governor christie did know about the lane closures before they happened. today's testimony wrapped up within the past hour. >> kei"today" today, kelly who christie's deputy chief of staff headed into the courtroom surrounded by attorneys. she said she did inform the governor about a traffic study that would close lanes along the george washington bridge. kelly says she told him a month before the closures began back in 2013.

she says her notice to christie came one day before she sent the infamous e-mail that said, quote, time for some traffic problems in ft. lee. however christie denies knowing about the preplanned plot. kelly says that the admitted mastermind in the plot david wildstein told her that the study would create tremendous traffic problems but would ultimately help traffic flow on the bridge. kelly later got choked up when she talked about the way christied her. she said one time he cursed at her and then threw a water bottle at her. kelly and baroni each face 20 years if convicted.

from west to east and we'll see one or two isolated thunderstorms tonight. mt. airy 78 for you, notice we're seeing warm temperatures above normal for this time of the year, trenton 76, with those showers in store, 75 for atlantic city, galloway 76, and it looks like dover seeing windy conditions already in the mid 70s for you, rehoboth beach 77. so keep in mind, we also have an increase in those wind speeds and those wind gustses. satellite images picking up those greens, notice those oranges and those reds. everybody is approaching from west to east. you can actually see some pockets here moving into the philly metro area, that's telling me we do have pockets of heavier downpours and possibly one or two isolated thunderstorms especially as those wind gusts are -- so notice locally right now, it is mainly dry with those clouds developing. but those showers really are pretty close. out the door forecast, for this evening, 8:00 p.m., we're seeing those developing clouds and by midnight seeing those showers.

pennsylvania's state run schools walked off the job on wednesday and they stayed on the picket lines until a ovlittle over an hour ago. >> reporter: it took by two years of fighting but it really came down to three days of striking, and of course this is for the faculty at all three of the pennsylvania state run universities. just a little while ago, the west chester university faculty had a celebration here. it sounds like the teachers are going to give a little bit on the salary and benefits in exchange for a couple hundred sticking points. i talked to an adjunct professor here and students and their professors are going to be together for this important homecoming weekend and they'll be back in class on monday morning. >> stay after school, stay after
