here is the latest tonight. pennsylvania congressman bob brady has joined the negotiations whe negotiations. he is hoping to help both sides. septa headed to court. it says it obtained an injunction that stops piqueters from interfering with regional rail service. they blame some of today's gridlock on striking union members who prevented regional rail trains from reporting to work. the crews that drive those trains. >> tonight we have live team coverage, how to sur vief the impacts, and even how you can get a free ride tomorrow. we begin with brandon hudson where the negotiations are stretching into the night. brandon. >> jacquelin and jim. earlier tonight congressman bob brady walked out this door to give us an update on those septa negotiations. he says he is already concerned that the strike in one day he wants to see it end as soon as possible. >> reporter: long lines in a taxi line outside 30th street

station. in the short time we were there after the evening rush hour we noticed it got longer. we found jenovia taking her chances at the back of the line. >> it's pretty crowded, at the regional rail stations. everything is delayed at least for an hour. >> reporter: at the peak of rush hour it looked like madness at septa's regional rail entrance at 30th street. more amtrak police were there to keep it under control. you can see just how the worker strike hurt those who rely on train transportation most. >> i actually was in line, but i had to leave, and i was going to have my husband come pick me up. it will be quicker that way. >> you can't get off the train for the people going on the train. zploor nbc 10 got this cell phone video from suburban station. it shows trains canceled due to striking workers preventing drivers from accessing them. we caught up with congressman bob brady where the negotiations

were taking place. he expressed his concern that the strike could impact election day in philadelphia. >> i worry about people not being able to get to the polls, you know, because they got to allow the extra time to drive their kid to school or to drive themselves to work. >> reporter: like brady, jenovia hopes the strike ends asap. >> maybe the day after that. >> i hope not. i hope -- i hope that it goes off of strike sooner rather than later. >> reporter: to give you some perspective on that line for the taxi that you just saw in our story, the valet told us it usually takes 30 minutes to get everyone in line a taxi during rush hour. tonight it took hours. we will continue to follow those negotiations as they continue tonight, and what looks to be tomorrow morning. reporting live at center city, i'm brandon hudson, nbc 10 news. >> everything taking a little longer. all right, brandon. as brandon mentioned, there's concern about whether the strike could make it harder for voters to get to the poles next

tuesday. septa has said it could seek an injunction to force workers back to work so the strike wouldn't interfere with the election. another big concern? philadelphia public schools with many students relying on public transportation to get to class. the school district says schools are opening on time and on schedule, and if students cannot get to school because of the strike, they will have an excused absence as long as they have a note from a parent. >> tens of thousands of people are finding other ways to get to work or school. keith jones got creative. >> yeah. he tried nearly every mode of transportation. he is joining us live in center city tonight to elit us more. keith. >> so, jackie, i road a taxi tonight. i road into a garage, a parking garage there. also, checked out these bikes that you see around the city. if i tried to check one out, though, now, look at this. they're all empty. some people decided to walk today. some people walked several miles.

>> trains come to a standstill, and roads get jammed. >> really, really bad. my feet are hurting, and i got to basically walk right back up. >> reporter: how far? we did the math. he walked seven miles. >> it's cardio, i guess, so you try to look at something positive for today, man. this is just crazy. >> reporter: the cost? your stamina and shoe soles. in other words, time. another choice? >> taxi. >> hail a cab. depending where you go in traffic. >> i heard it could cost you anywhere from $10 to $40. >> thanks, man. >> same goes for ride sharing programs like uber or lyft. still not for you? grab an indigo bike, but get here fast. this wreck is empty. it costs $4 every half hour. one sure fire option, take your car or carpool. get those parking garages early. >> has it been busier today? >> of course, there's more traffic and more cars in the parking lot. the whole city is hectic.

his defense. >> obviously it's a serious situation. >> reporter: eagles suicide receiver jordan matthews says he was surprised to learn his good friend, fellow wide receiver josh huff was arrested shortly after this morning's practice in south philadelphia. we caught up with matthews tonight in sfr city during an event where he was raising awareness about domestic violence. >> for every single game he was my roommate when i came in as a rookie. great guy. >> officers with the delaware river port authority pulled huff over around 11:00 a.m. for going above 60 in a 45-mile-an-hour speed zone. think say a check of his car turned up a gun, a loaded magazine with hollow point bullets and a small amount of marijuana. fortunado is representing huff. >> he is a dedicated family man, dedicated to the eagles organization. it's a very difficult thing for him to go through. >> reporter: the eagles released a statement saying they were aware of the incident and gathering more information. he has been charged with dui and unlawful possession of a weapon.

in south pennsylvania. donald trump and his running mate mike pence campaigned in the king of prussia. trump promised the crowd at the double tree hotel that he would repeal and replace the health care system if elected. trump later rallied in wisconsin where he had this message for anyone who has already voted for hillary clinton and is now experiencing buyer's remorse. >> so if you live here or in michigan or pennsylvania or minnesota -- those four places -- you can change your vote to donald trump and we'll make america great again. okay? it. >> we've reached out to pennsylvania election fichlts to see if voters can change their absentee ballots after submitting them. we'll be sure to bring you the response once we get it. donald trump's daughter tiffany trump will stump for her father in pennsylvania tomorrow. it's a video of them making a surprise stop. this is from the convention.

a second day of pre-trial hearings is set to take place in a montgomery county courtroom today. bill cosby's lawyers say he agrees to answer questions you should oath after being promised he wouldn't be charged with a crime. the comedian is it accused of sexually assaulting a former temple university employee. he denies the accusation. the judge must also decide if 13 other accusers can testify against cosby at the trial.

72 degrees. alantown, 70 degrees. just about partly cloudy skies. robinsville, 72 degrees. we have this warm air mass starting to move in tomorrow. it will be more noticeable than today. >> we could see a line of showers and storms moving across. the rain is going to stay in the forecast. it is going to clear as we go into friday, and friday will be colder. we're talking about the upper 70s thursday, and then the upper 50s on friday. we could see about a 20 degree drop from those daytime highs. talking about thursday now with the record high temperatures, record high in philly, 80. the forecast is 78. areas like atlantic city and wilmington could also get close to a record high.
