randy: antoinette antonio is at the scene. antoinette: a lot of challenges indeed. firefighters being very cautious . they will not be able to determine any fatalities until they are able to enter this home. listen to what happened as we were interviewing the district fire chief. . the roof came crashing down with firefighters just feet away. two women were rescued from this s, the other an 18-year-old.

the district fire chief said this one has been tough to fight. >> it was a heavily involved fire when our crews arrived. it was a narrow escape in a tight, congested area. it was a difficult fire to fight. antoinette: the home was completely gutted by flames. we are unsure of the number of people who lived here. the red cross is currently assisting 19 people who were displaced. we are not sure if all of those multiunit home. for this morning. newscenter 5. randy: thanks for the update. remembering the 14 victims of the shooting rampage in san bernardino, california. thousands of people lighted candles in honor of those whose lives were cut short.

tracking the overnight -- erika is tracking the overnight developments. erika: we know the couple responsible had an arsenal of firearms. s home, thousands of rounds of ammunition and a dozen pipe on -- bombs. as a potential act of terror. the fbi said syed farook communicated with extremists, but no one significant. neighbors were suspicious because they had been working in their garage at late hours. >> it was unspeakable, the carnage that we were seeing and the pure panic on the faces of those individuals still in need and needing to be safe.

interviewing the district fire chief. you see there and you hear some very tense moments as that roof came down. firefighters yelling, including one we heard yell, "we' re ok." the area was cordoned off and they knew that part of the home was going to come down, so no one was hurt in that incident. as for what happened when firefighters arrived here, very intense flames they dealt with, but they were able to rescue two women from that home. one woman in her 60' s and 118-year-old. they were revived on their way to the hospital. the fire marshal told us they are still looking into the cause of this fire, the origination of the fire. as many as 19 people lived in the home. they are also looking into

un-december-like. cindy: it is december. we are going to be a little closer to normal today, but we will be warmer over the weekend. a lot of people are loving this, except for snow lovers. last year, we had 2.5 inches by this point. we had had 7.5 inches in worcester. the jet stream is going to be lifting to the north once again. it as we go into the weekend. the temperatures seasonal levels today, but they are coming up to around 50 on saturday. november. clear skies in boston right now. we have cooled down a little bit overnight. the wind is going to stay light throughout the day.

you saw the lighting on channel 5 last night. this spruce is a yearly gift from nova scotia to thank boston for relief efforts after a major explosion in 1917. the state house lights it' s minoru for hanukkah -- menorah for hanukkah on monday. this is a huge area of high pressure building in. we are starting out barely above freezing. mid-30' s in the cape. temperatures hold in the mid 30' s through about 8:00. by lunchtime, 45 degrees. we will be in the lower 40' s looking for highs today in the mid-to-upper 40' s. typical high this year is about 45 degrees. tonight, we are down through the upper 20' s and around freezing. notice the high shifting eastward as we get into sunday. we will have a mild, southwesterly wind. mid-to-upper 50' s on sunday. it would not shock me if a few towns nudged toward 50 degrees. by kickoff, the temperature should be about 50 degrees for the patriots down at gillette. sunshine in the lower 50' s.
