turn over a number of documents into a criminal investigation in a nora virus investigation in california. emily: saugus firefighters were forced to save their own. erika: we have the scary moments for those firefighters for us. doug: only seven hours since this fire first broke out and it continues to smolder. earlier this morning, it was a very close call for three local firefighters. the early morning call came in around 5:00 a.m.. when firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed and they quickly went to three alarms. it also quickly turned to a few stressful moments for the men who entered the building. >> a call for may day came in. doug: upon entry, two teams split up.

firefighters were overwhelmed by smoke and heat. >> the fire captain was able to pull the firefighter in front of him out, which was a fire lieutenant from saugus. the firefighter and the fire lieutenant were able to pull one of our firefighters out the window. doug: one of the firefighters was spotted only moments after being rescued. >> are you ok? >> i' m good. thank you. >> i would say the firefighters on scene saved the lives of my men. doug: by daybreak come the fight not over. temperatures. living at the home were all able to escape without injury. nearby ambulance. >> the family was in bed and they heard a noise downstairs house after. the fire crew showed up at that point. doug: the firefighters'
