in worse shape than first thought. right now, u.s. stock futures are plunging down more than 400 points. also breaking overnight, a woman is in the hospital after being hit by a car in boston. we' re told it happened along chestnut hill avenue in brighton just before eleven last night. -- 11:00 last night. the victim was unconscious and taken to brigham and women' s hospital. the extent of her injuries aren' t clear. the driver did stay on the scene after the crash. more breaking news. firefighters on the scene of a fire in roxbury. this is happening on gaston street. boston fire says the flames started in the attic around 3:00 this morning. all 3 people inside made it out safely. the chief estimates damage at about $400,000. this just in. a rescue effort is underway in upstate new york where 17 mine workers are trapped in an elevator shaft.

in the workers are 800 feet down and have been there since last night. emily: right now the red sox are working to remove graffiti from the number of an iconic team legend. someone scrawled in black ink or paint on johnny pesky' s number 6, outside of fenway park. it' s not clear when this happened but photos of the vandalism surfaced online last night. right now we' re getting new information about the allegations that forced a high school principal off the job. the eye' s erika tarantal joins us with the disturbing allegations. erica a police report, obtained : by newscenter5, is shedding new light on accusations of inappropriate behavior by edward rozmiarek. he resigned from swampscott high last month, after school officials say he engaged in the misconduct through his school computer at times during the school day. the police report states an adult decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl from new york was in an internet chat room when she was contacted by rozmiarek. most of the alleged conversations are too graphic to

often asked if she thinks about sex and made multiple inquiries about her bra size. when police confronted, rozmiarek a married father of an 11-year-old girl allegedly told them he did it because it was quote exciting. there are no criminal charges in the case because the d.a. says there' s no evidence the former principal enticed the victim to go to or stay at a specific location. emily: thank you. a secret service agent, involved in a deadly crash in new hampshire begins a long road to recovery. garrett fitzgerald suffered a serious spinal chord injury, when he and 3 other agents were struck by another driver in new hampshire. that driver, bruce danforth, was killed. fitzgerald is now unable to move or feel anything below his chest. he' ll soon be transferred to a spinal rehabilitation facility. he and his fiance joan moved to boston in september, and were planning their wedding for march. randy: new details this morning in the case of a man found dead by the side of the highway in auburn. a friend tells the telegram

argument with someone in a car. it was in the breakdown lane and he got out of the vehicle and walked off. family searched for hours but his body was found at the bottom of an embankment off i-290. he was in town for his mother' s memorial service. police are still investigating. right now investigators are looking for the cause of this fire in kingston. at one point flames were shooting out of carmela' s restaurant on main street. an update last night on the restaurant' s facebook page thanked the community for its support and said that everyone carmela' emily transportation leaders are : mulling a bill that would increase the punishment for blocking state highways. a committee met yesterday to discuss the bill, filed early last year after this protest purposefully blocked both sides of i-93 in january. if passed, the bill would raise a fine from 50 dollars to $5,000. it would also increase possible

in most spots temperatures should average around the mid 30' s. we have made to high-level clouds coming in as high pressure begins to build eastward. tonight, we will fall back in the 20' s to the freezing mark. clouds are going to be coming in after a mainly clear sky. low-level clouds come in off the ocean. we have some slight patchy drizzle during the day on friday. it is more likely that that occurs friday into saturday. in may be cold enough for some of the drizzle to freeze on contact. sunday is the water day of the weekend. we' ll have a surge of warm air from the south. that means the rain will be windswept. we could get record highs in the 50' s. we' ll get that system out of our hair on monday. i want to draw your attention to this. a storm approaching from the west. the frontal boundary does not look like much.
