from a burning apartment building in chelsea. >> his father quickly jumped in to get the boy to safety. rhondella richardson is live in chelsea. she has the story fours. >> the building is now being boarded up in part, that 3-year-old didn't even need to go to the hospital. the fire was set by workers fixing something in the kitchen. >> stress and a few tears poured out of 43 eleanor street along with smoke of a fast moving morning fire. a 3-year-old spotted traps and sent firefighters rushing in a with a ladder but his father walked him out of the building before the fire reached him. everyone relieved but residents looking for cats waited hours for good news. >> my main concern was making sure my kitties were okay. i've got two little ones, they are the light of our world. >> it's safe to say it's pretty extensive.

>> now, look, so far, up until 6:00 tonight boston has only had a meager .02 of an inch of rain. in a dry slot. that's now changing. look how quickly you build up to a third of an inch in worcester. 2/3 of an inch in orange. new concord, new hampshire, an inch. the bands of rain are just moving into boston the latter part of the evening commute right around 128, 495, and in boston is a very wet and tough one and slow one as these heavy bands of rain move through. there is a real close look. you see the yellows showing you some of the heavier rain. mill ford, norwood, now moving. as we take you out the heavy rains will continue. still at 8:00. the rainfall amounts will quickly build up. probably to half an inch or an inch in no time. south shore around 9:00 tonight. cape is certainly getting it. around 10:00. for tomorrow morning's commute it won't be as widespread but

downpours at the cape and showery around boston. >> what's going to happen after that is we're going to have to with which a possible second storm. more about that in a second but look at the temperatures now compared to 24 hours ago. 15, 25 degrees warmer. in boston, right now, we have jumped to 55. a southerly wind at 17 miles per hour. and with that wind out of the south, that's going to help the temperature climb a little bit more. gusting to 36 now in plymouth. 33 in orange. so the temperatures will certainly stay warm all newt and will probably stay steady, maybe full a little bit during tomorrow afternoon. stale very mild day. the wind will go around to the northwest. eventually that lusher in cooler air. remember, it can still be showery in spots for the first part of the day tomorrow. especially the cape, which may still have downpours. the rain tends to move away but a second disturbance comes up very late tomorrow night and friday morning, mainly affecting southeastern mass and the cape. as it turns colder.

with or likely change over to some snow. if it comes down with decent intensity there will be some slush accumulations of snow on southeastern mass and the cape before it moves offshore during friday midday and friday afternoon. one computer model here indicating about one to three inches over southeastern mass and the cape. the potential may be there from two to four. if the cold air comes quicker it could be higher. if the cold air is sluggish it would be even less. we'll see how it breaks down. it doesn't look like it will get to boston and points north and west but we'll follow it. the storm watch has been put into effect beginning in the wee hours of the morning on friday until 3:00 p.m. on friday. next seven days go this way. there you go. watching late tomorrow night and friday morning. southeastern mass and the cape. and then for the weekend, seasonable weather but look at monday and tuesday. that's when it could be either snow or flurries. we're going to have first one ocean storm pretty far out on monday. and a second may try to form monday night and tuesday.
