rain we've been waiting for. mike: we will have to wait a little longer. if you watch over the last few hours the rain is moving in and then worked its way northward. didn't really get too much out of it. this is the first batch of it. more will be coming as we talk about the overnight hours into tomorrow morning. that's what the best opportunity for seeing showers and thunderstorms. if you're traveling along 485, a nice little band of showers. as you look up to the berkshires. it's just kind of glorified sprinkles at this point. it's all happening ahead of this cold front. a lot of humidity in here. this is where we could get showers popping up just about anywhere. let me show you. no showers have waned. a lot of you have nice sunshine this morning, especially the

, of a connection to terrorism. this is surveillance video from nearby as the explosion rocked manhatten's chelsea neighborhood. you can see people running as debris was sent flying into the air. >> i heard this boom. >> it was so loud, it was shaking my body. i looked in the middle of the street. there was a big cloud of smoke. [sirens] reporter: this cell phone video shows a good samaritan helpi fire officials say most are said to have minor injuries but one person does have serious injuries. >> there is no evidence at this point of a terror connection. reporter: a law enforcement official says the blast appears to have taken place in a construction toolbox infront of a residence for the blind around 8:30 saturday night. >> the exact cause of the explosion has not been determined. reporter: a second device was found about four blocks away, we're told it's a pressure cooker with wires attached to a cell phone. hours later it was safely

that device is an explosive device. both federal and local officials are on the scene. right now there are no leads on who is behind the attack or what may have motivated them. antoinette, todd? antionette: the device found at the second scene showing similarities to the ones used in the boston marathon bombings. todd: the device found in new york appears to be a pressure cooker though it's not confirmed , to be an explosive device at this point. the prre packed with shrapnel. dzhokhar tsarnaev was sentenced to death in the bombings that killed three people and injured more than 260. the pressure cooker bombs were detonated by a transmitter made from a remote control with a battery underneath. that battery was connected with a piece of black electrical tape. antionette: the mayor of new york saying the explosion in manhattan has no known connection to an explosion in new jersey saturday morning.

run. antionette: the explosion happened just before thousands of runners were expected to take off. the runners were not nearby when the device went off and the race was eventually canceled. the fbi is now taking over the investigation. todd: both hillary clinton and donald trump reacting to the explosion in new york. and much like many issues their comments about the incident are creating a stir. democratic nominee hillary clinton appeared to take a jab at trump before a campaign appearance in colorado. donald plane, a bomb went off in new york and nobody knows exactly what's going on. we are living in a time, we better very tough, folks. hillary clinton i think it's : important to know the facts about any incident like this . that's why it's critical to support first responders the investigators who are looking into it trying to determine what , did happen.

, from the aryan nation and kkk than he does from leaders of his own party. todd: breaking overnight. one scuba diver is dead. his diving partner rescued, both pulled from the water off the coast of nahant. the district attorney says the divers were found by civilian boaters near the northeastern marine biology center. both drivers were taken to salem hospital. investigators say the diver who died was experienced. he appears to have run out of oxygen as he attempt to surface. the current pushed him into the rocks. about the teenager who was killed by a commuter train. the globe is reporting the teen killed was a 14-year-old boy from newton. a west-bound commuter train hit the teen just before nine friday -- 9:00 friday night near the west newton station. police and the da's office are still investigating the circumstances surrounding what happened, but foul play is not suspected. the globe reports the boy was not currently a student in newton but had previously attended newton schools. high schools will have counselors available to students tomorrow. antionette: police in worcester

driver of this black pickup truck. a 31-year-old woman suffered multiple injuries in the strange crash. police believe the worcester resident was talking to the driver in the parking lot of the bp gas station on chandler street around 6:30 saturday morning. at some point the pickup driver sped off with the woman clinging to the driver's side window. eventually the woman fell from the truck into the middle of the road. condition. we are following several other big stories right now. todd: eight people hurt after an attack at a mall. the terrifying incident, and what witnesses say the man was saying as he stabbed shoppers. antionette: the air force grounding new fighter jets. the problems with the planes that are being called the most expensive weapons in military history. todd: mike: and rain is on the way. my hour by hour breakdown and the outlook for your work week.

antionette: we continue to follow breaking news this morning. rocked manhattan. todd: more than two dozen people injured. diane cho is here with breaking news in the investigation. reporter: the mayor says the explosion was deliberate but there is an indication it is connected to terrorism. it happened just after 8:30 last night in the chelsea neighborhood. 29 people were injured, one seriously. most victims have been released from the hospital.

it will be studying that. there always also been incident in seaside park, new jersey. they are also taking that material to quantico to review that material also. i spoke with governor christie this morning. we are coordinating our resources between new york and new jersey to see if there's anything we can learn. main coordinating force is the joint terrorism task force. the bombs that were it in seaside, new jersey appeared to be different from the ones that were in manhattan. as i mentioned, the response for the first responders was extraordinary. you drill all the time and do exercises all the time, but it is different when it happens.

homeland security, new york state police. fire department. everyone work together and is coordinating on the investigation. we have no reason to believe that this time that there is any further immediate threat. just to air on the side of caution, -- caution, we will deploy an additional 1000 yard state police and national guard people to police the bus terminals, airports and subway stations. again, just to err on the side of caution. i want new yorkers to be confident when they go back to work on monday that new york is up and running and we are doing everything we need to do.

listening to new york governor andrew cuomo talking about getting briefed on the explosion in new york city that happened last night. reiterating what the mayor was saying. there has been no evidence of a connection to international terrorism. the investigation into the explosion is still very early. also saying the second device found, the pressure cooker will be inspected. todd: and taken to quantico. the fbi has investigation is starting. he said there was no connection to international terrorism, and that builds on what the mayor said yesterday. this obviously was intentional. this was no accident. we have more details as the day goes on and we will bring those to you. just to confirm, 29 people have been injured. the vast majority of them have been treated at hospitals and released. antionette: 10:21 and we are

injured falling a stabbing attack at a minnesota mall. the attacker were shot and killed by an off-duty police officer. the injured suffered nonlife threatening injuries. the attacker reportedly made references to allah. they say the motive is unclear. a charter bus crash in north carolina these four people dead and dozens injured. it was carrying a south carolina college football team. it struck a bridge on highway 47 and a tire blew. 42 passengers were the status of the driver and players is unknown at this time. antionette: the u.s. air force has been forced to ground some of its new f 35 fighter jets. the faulty lines affect 57 aircraft, 10 of which were already in the field. they will be fixed. the remainder will be fixed before delivery. the f 35 is described as the most expensive weapons system in

just over a week ago after a month-long investigation. boston police investigating a deadly triple shooting in dorchester. this was breaking news yesterday. boston police say the man, all in their 20's, were shot after 2:00 saturday morning. this was in the area of nightingale and wales street. one victim was pronounced dead. they are expected to be ok. looking for a man who pretended to be one of them. police say a woman was pulled over on new hampton road, asked for her license and registration, then she was let go. the suspect had blue and white lights on his car in wearing a dark uniform. the man did not display a badge. investigators say this was the only incident they are aware of, but they did increase patrols in the area and will also stay at the victims home.
