category three storm. it looks like it will gain strength as it gets close to the coast of florida. it parallels along the coast. here it is tomorrow morning, then continues through jacksonville. by tomorrow night, winds 125 miles an hour. a shift of 20 miles one way or the other big difference. as far as our weather is concerned, saturday evening, it's looping its way going to have any impact on our weather whatsoever. this morning, it's chilly. some readings into the 30s. norwood down to 32 degrees. we'll warm things up through the afternoon. but it's not going to be terribly warm this morning. we'll talk more about that warming forecast coming up in a few moments. >> right now hurricane matthew is hovering over the bahamas

happening in florida. you'll be hearing a lot about it. let me show you where we are right now. category three storm, but i'm looking for an update in about another seven or eight minutes. maximum sustained winds right now 115. it's interacting with land, slowing it down a little bit. it was a category five last friday, then it went to a four, stayed four through haiti. now we're looking at a category three storm. this is interesting to watch. if you look at the whole across. not a really big one. the hurricane-force winds extend about 45 miles from each side. we're looking at winds over 74 miles per hour. in the tropical storm category, this extends out about 170 miles. think about that, just 45 miles. this tracks one way or the other, that means a big impact on the coast of florida. here are the hurricane force winds. notice how they are skirting

beach. damages winds are a strong possibility. the timeline on this -- tonight at 8:00 we're cutting it out of the bahamas and headed towards the coast. at this point, we already start to feel a lot of the winds. tomorrow morning at this time, kind of just south of daytona beach is a category four storm and working its way along the coast. here's what i mean. this is shifting 20 miles this way. we're talking about tremendous hurricane force winds. the other way 20 talking about heavy rain. so one to watch, but not for us. it's going to loop around and stay out of the ocean. this is going to miss us. we may try to get moisture from it. our computer models indicate it will sit and swirl, even to the north, keeping it way offshore. 51-degree reading is in the city. away from the city it's chilly. we have readings into the 30s, kind of a cool start to your

30s. let's talk about what's going to happen this weekend because we have a front coming in, which is going to give us a chance for rain. here is where matthew is. down to the south. now, sometimes what happens is, this is dragging enough moisture up, that it may try to enhance our rainfall a little bit. that would be good news. we're still in the midst of a drought. we need all the rain we can get. our only hope is to get the tropical moisture to work its way this way a little bit. really because after that it's dry and cool. today cooler at the coast. temperatures in the 70s. tomorrow, mid 70s for october with sunshine. you can't ask for much more than that. beautiful foliage coming too if you're headed toward the north. showers saturday afternoon. sunday, cooler and breezy conditions. here's where the cool temperatures settle in. chilly start but mild afternoon. kind of a very nice fall forecast.
