cameras but that was no camouflaging his actions. ronald brown broke in and raped a woman. >> i feel horrible for the girl. reporter: three sex sex offender. he tied up both women, blindfolded the rapeti kill you. i hate chinese people. the victim is asian and is employed at an area hospital, police arrested brown at the pine street inn after finding a prescription medication bottle with his name on it at the apartment, 0002 -- at the apartment. >> in a neighborhood that's well lit and well trafficked i'm surprised that happened. reporter: court documents also indicate brown has a record for similar crimes of sexual assault and breaking and entering,he was

roxbury porch in 2003 says she knows what the 9-year-old is going thru. the 9-year-old visiting roxbury from east boston was shot while in a playground near annunciation road kai wants the 9-year-old to know she is here to help her in what ever she needs . >> being able to set these families out and give an extra pillar of support. >> they have started the new beginnings foundation to help with the long term rehab ofch ed: new at 7, a boston police officer killed in the line of duty in the 70's has now been recognized for his sacrifice. officer jose maceira was shot in the face in 1974 and died 2 years later as a result of his injuries. his name was added to the department's wall of honor. his widow and children were on hand for the ceremony. >> he laid out his life to make sure the city is what it is today.

ed: a man in custody after taking police on a chase thru several towns. police say 41-year-old james joyce stole a car in halifax last night. today officers tried to stop him in east bridgewater, hanson, whitman, and brockton. he was finally arrested in randolph after he lost a tire and spun out damaging a police cruiser and another car.

jc: sometimes something you see on tv can save your life. it did for helen taylor. she watched katie couric get a colonoscopy on television and she thought she should get one too. and good thing she did. maria stephanos tells us helen is now a three time colon cancer survivor and someone you should know. >> helen taylor is the beyond the picture of health. a personal trainer and fitness instructor at the hockomock ymca in foxboro. a black belt in karate. when she decided to get a colonoscopy after she saw one on tv she never thought even for a second, she would hear the word cancer. the first time they removed a foot of her: -- her colon. she realized something was wrong. >> i had to run three runs.

call on halloween. my doctor said it is not good. the cancer has spread, it is on your liver. it is on your abdomen and ovaries. >> this statement fueled her. >> you are inoperable. i said can i be treated. he i'm going to beat it. reporter: her second surgery would come later. now she was going to run that race. >> i thought i don't have cancer today. i'm going to run the fastest i can. with my friends and family i did my fastest time reporter:. such a proud moment. after six months of chemotherapy

need chemo. reporter: she survived to cancer surgeries. it was not over. when she was diagnosed a third time her reaction will tell you everything about this amazing woman. >> i felt i could be viewed as a disappointment to people. everyone looks at me as a survivor. i can't let anybody know it has come back. reporter: the support she received hold her through. like some days i could barely walk down the street. you have to stay living. i don't know what my life holds. nobody does. i am just going to keep fighting. i want to get the word out to

men and women should get tested for: cancer at the age of the. she could not agree more. we did a story on this earlier this year. jc: and she looks amazing. like the picture of health. ed: cannot bring down. she is an iron woman absolutely. congratulations. money more years of good health to you. our latest radar, we have scattered showers starting to move through. we will keep an eye on those and see how they shake loose for us in terms of tomorrow.
