main break flooded that trench where they were working. anchor: the complicated effort happening in the south end. we start our team coverage with nicole. reporter: they are removing the bodies of one of those men but if you look behind me, recovery efforts continue with several hours in now and they still continue to look for the second man. >> i heard from the men that were working on the construction site. reporter: water quickly filled the trench on friday. two workers. a desperate rescue attempt by co-workers and friends. >> one guy put a rope around him and went down and had a ladder down there. reporter: at least four men were working underground when the

the grouped and people running and panic. reporter: witnesses say there was little time, the trench and nearby streets flooded. >> they were screaming that someone was down there. reporter: workers clung to hope, visably shaken. >> i saw their faces, they looked devastated. reporter: the recovery effort complicated by >> we have to drain the water and make sure it is safe. it is a long, drawn-out effort. reporter: both of these men worked for atlantic drain services. co-workers said they were family men and both were here. anchor: all the streets in that area.

space to do their work. our team coverage live. reporter: this stretch of the road behind me has been shut down for several hours and authorities are asking drivers to stay away from the area. the police commissioner said dartmouth street will be closed for some time, the mayor saying this is not a situation where it will be closed for hours but for days. th is at the scene which is common to make sure that foul play was not involved. even though he says they don't suspect it at this time and they believe this was an accident. >> my thoughts and prayers are with these two people's families. just a tough situation. construction is a dangerous job and a tough situation. the fire department, water and sewer are working hard right now

reporter: authorities aren't saying if this stretch on dartmouth will be shut down for some time. so avoid it if you can. anchor: five investigating previous safety issues with the atlantic drain company. in all, the federal agency that regulates worker safety cited the company for eight different regulations. osha is waiting for be paid. not the first time it has been in the news. a worker was injured in march when a sewer truck fell on him while he was changing the tire. the street could be closed for several days. we will bring you knew information on the air and on the wcvb app.

highs are only in the 50's. anchor: search for answers right now after three cyberattacks targeting web sites. the f.b.i. involved in the investigation. nicole is line in boston. and this centers around a local company. reporter: if you had trouble using your phone to get on to some web sites, you are not alone. hackers bringing down some major sites and this may be just beginning. >> the internet basically blew up. reporter: hackers waging a massive attack. the focus of the attack, manchester, new hampshire. >> it was more than hacked. they were pounded by traffic. reporter: a local tech company says hackers waged a distributed denial of service or ddos.

anchor: crews are trying to recover one of the two workers who passed away after becoming trapped in a trench. one of the bodies was recovered a short time ago. the second body is still missing. the trench was flooded drastically as a water main broke in that area. this on dartmouth street. anchor: the man charged with killing five teenagers in now in jail. he was in the hospital being treated for his own serious injuries. prosecutors say that he crashed into the teenagers' car on i-89 two weeks ago and police say he stole a police car on scene and crashed into seven more vehicles. anchor: looking at the mass. pike in newton pike and rain is coming down and heavy downpours.

here's where we are seeing the heaviest bands and that's the issues we are having. over to the south, they go down here. that's why we are seeing very heavy rains. this is where you are seeing the heaviest rain up towards the north. get to the city ap look at that, barely any showers. you have to go to the west. and as you look to the north shore, offshore, you are starting to see more. same thing as you look to the south shore, more bappeds of showers out to the west. they are going to work their way in. the heaviest opportunity for rain is between now and midnight tonight. after midnight, we start to wind things down. temperatures don't change much. scattered showers here and there, which means tomorrow, will be halfway decent. tomorrow morning at 11:00, we

another band of rain starts to set up and the atmosphere is moist and sets us up for the possibility of downpours. not everyone is going to see it but we will see one or two downpours in place. sunday, what happens? sunday morning is cold, into the 40's. cold enough out to the berkshires, a few wet snowflakes are possible. by the time sunday afternoon, here comes the sunshine back in, but the temperatures aren't going to be warm. here's the way it looks, tomorrow, chalk it up to gay skies. chances for showers and temperature about 62 in the morning because in the afternoon it will go down. it will get windy tomorrow afternoon and windy on sunday. and it gets even colder, monday, tuesday and especially wednesday morning and could have a hard freeze. chilly conditions and stays breezy towards tuesday.
