only one person in the suv at the time but officers say the flames were too intense and they couldn't get to the driver. police tell us this is a busy road but there was no one coming in the opposite direction when the crash took place. we talked to two men who were at the toyota dealership nearby when they saw the flames and ran out with a fire extinguisher to try to help. >> the extinguisher went out so i tossed it to jerry. jerry tried if we can get an opening. it was just too much fire. >> they are getting ready to toe the suv from the scene. it is now investigating to determine how this happened. ed: transferring new calls for improved service. they are trying to figure out

that's compared to 46% who say we're doing badly. americans have gotten more positive as the election nears. back in january, just 42% were happy with the direction of the country. ed: police in nashua investigating after a woman's body is found near a fire station on hudson street this morning. investigators say there's nothing suspicious about the discovery. an autopsy is planned for tomorrow to determine her cause of death. providence police are searching for 3 suspects who attacked a woman while wearing clown masks. the men allegedl the woman's home tuesday night calling her name. she was attacked as she opened the door and the men ran off after she fought back. a clown mask and baseball bat left at the scene are being analyzed for evidence. jc: a huge fire consumes a manhattan apartment building, leaving one person dead and at least 12 more injured. {vo} the flames erupted around 3-30 this morning in a building on east 93rd street in the yorkville neighborhood. residents ran for safety, but some were trapped inside.

ed: incredible video of a daredevil stunt gone wrong. eric dossantos had his camera rolling as he base jumped off of a mountain in the french alps. but suddenly, he started to lose speed. dossantos crashed straight into a tree and woke up hours later in a hospital. he apparently fell so fast that he took out that tree and left a debris trail 300 feet long. dossantos says he's got some head injuries, but i look at his shadow. he says he is ok. >> we're learning about a tiger attacked. >> emily riemer has more. what witnesses say happened moments before the attack. >> a close call for a tiger trainer locked inside of an

ed: taking a look now at your economy this thursday, ford is recalling nearly 412,000 vehicles because of fuel leaks that could cause fires. jc: ed the company says a fuel supply part can develop a crack and leak gasoline. the recall covers certain ford escapes from 2010 to 2012. and mercury mariners from 2010 to 2011. ford says its not aware of any accidents or fires related to the problem. the social media giant is cutting 9% of it workforce worldwide. that's about 350 workers. twitter is struggling to compete with rivals like facebook, snapchat and instagram. it's also been looking for a buyer as it continues to lose millions of dollars. jc: walmart hopes to make your holiday shopping a little easier this year. the retail giant will have workers directing customers to the quickest checkout line, and even running to grab items they may have forgotten. these special helpers will be wearing yellow vests, making
