he has the story you will only see here. >> reporter: he gained a limp but didn't loose his life. the 8,000 block of maryland is where a gun spared him. anthony wasn't ready for what waited outside his door. >> gun in my face. >> reporter: a stranger dragged him out, intending to kill. the gun jammed and then his body was to close to the gunman for him to aim high a bullet grazed his leg, another through his foot. his heart as loud as any gun shot. >> he shot again like two or three more times and then -- the gun jammed again. i pushed him and i just ran. >> reporter: hopped up on adrenaline he didn't know he had been shot. by the time he peeked around a corner his car zoomed past.

medics patched him together again. doctors said that an artery was near. if he leaned back on his heel he might not have been sitting here. >> hard to imagine that the suspects also got his wallet and cell phone. they are still on the loose. new this morning the city of chardei in is marking a quiet anniversary. today is four years since a shooting left several students dead. members of the community have worked to create a space to honor the teens who lost their lives. plans for a memorial park have started. the group behind the plan is working with the city to obtain land that would develop into a park with hiking trails, a playground and a dedicated space for survivors and first responders of that shooting. donations are being taken by the group. local photographer captured

of a full day here at the auto show. normally they open on saturday to the public but opened last night for a few hours. today is the first full day and we have a big schedule. first i want to talk about the big announcement from friday. ford announcing it's investing $145 million to upgrade one of its plants here in cleveland. the plant produces engines that power the ford f150, the accord, the transit, the flex and the taurus. this is expected to create or retain 150 jobs locally. >> means they will have jobs for years to come. it means that cleveland is the choice for engines or motor companies. we are an important part of ford's future. >> ford said this is part of a nine billion dollar investment here in cleveland and at

just about 8:16 on saturday morning. at least ten are dead and dozens hurt after a suicide bombing in afghanistan. the attacker targeted a local tr ib al leader. syria a car bomb violates the cease fire that went into effect at midnight. it was just two hours old when the bombing was reported. nobody has claimed responsibility for that bomb and it's possible it was from isis or al-qaeda. both groups weren't included in the cease fire. in iran reformists and moderate conservatives leading in the election. voters went to the poles yesterday and results show a more friendly house to pursue a domestic augend agenda. and new details coming in

deputies say the 12-year-old who is the only survivor of the shooting is related to the other victims. it happened yesterday in a rural part of the state. the gunman called an officer to say he had shot and killed his family. the officer arrived and the man locked himself in the home with the gun. after a standoff that man killed himself. neighbors say they heard the gun shots. >> we were just standing outside and heard random shooting. it sounded like they were target shooting. >> police still haven't identified the gunman or the victims. another mass shooting. this time in kansas where three people were killed and more than a dozen hurt. authorities announced they have made an arrest in connection with the case. elizabeth is in heston. >> reporter: cedrick ford,

he used to shoot his co worker is a convicted felon who couldn't legally own guns. he got the weapons from a 28- year-old kansas woman charging her with unlawfully transferring firearms. his shooting spree on thursday went across six miles and three locations, his final stop where he worked, excel. >> people are getting pushed. >> three employees were killed. the blood shed weekended ended with ford shot and killed in a gun bat well the first officer on the scene. the heston police chief. sergeant chris carter saying that his boss's actions saved lives. >> if there is gun fire we go to the gun fire many we go stop it. if you are alone you are alone. >> reporter: is that a hard thing to fight? >> nope. absolutely not.

border patrol agents here in northern ohio had policies encouraging racial profiling. two groups claimed there were a -- they were targeting hispanics. the justice department said that stats don't back up those claims and the judge threw out the lawsuit. a former probation officer finds himself in jail over cash and sandwhichs. michael williams was sentenced to a year after pleading guilty to br ib ery. he took payments people he was supervisorring in exchange for early probation release. he admitted to taking more than $1,500 and 15 sandwhichs. new this morning state investigators say they found no evidence of lobbying law violations at wright state. the attorney general said is that the investigate focused on if a university consultant should have registered as a lobbyist.

lack of support for ohio firefighters with cancer prompting the mayor of another city to get behind a bill in columbus. ohio is just one of 16 state that won't recognize the lynching between fighting fires and cancer. the mayor wrote this letter urging the state senate to pass the cancer legislation which would provide benefits for firefighters. it's unlikely the army corp of engineer will be able to dump sediment into lake eerie. the head of the epa hasn't reached a decision but said the corp hasn't shown him evidence that it's safe for the lake. coming up, after a rough year for the maple syrup industry sugar bushes happy about the early spring. we will share where you can learn about the syrup making process. and a lot of politicians expect ohio to listen up during the election year but they are the ones who need to listen up.

they boast the new technology. cleveland has been a hard working community. once heavy with jobs. desce nda nts of those workers remain. generations old, hire -- higher education will help. one business is medicine. >> there seems to be no end of growth in the medical industry right now . industries? will company owners looking for cleveland? the hard working ethic is still in this city's blood line. >> even when the fog hangs heavy over the city hopes hangs heavy as well. the national politicians know that. that's one of the reasons for the republican national convention to be held in cleveland. as well the march primary is coming up and republicans and democrats will both be here trying to get those votes, ohio is very important. is so is too is cleveland.
