police told you today there is a reason everyone should be concerned. >> reporter: we're going to hear about that in a moment but the heroin epidemic is hitting hard in lorain county where six people have died in the last two weeks. others are hospitalized. in just the last two weeks, 4 people in elyria overdosed on heroin or heroin mixed with a painkiller, fentanyl. police arrested five men suspected of selling to those who oh d'ed on the drugs. the task force also arrested 26- year-old david hollis and manslaughter in connection with one of the heroin deaths. >> to say it's epidemic is almost an understatement. this. >> the detective told me they're seeing more fentanyl being mixed with heroin, a deadly combination. >> the fentanyl is 40 to 50 times more potent than heroin.

>> reporter: but instead of a stronger high they're finding who addicts drop dead with the needle still in their arm. why should you care? he said one woman addicted to heroin said she will do anything to get money. >> i shoplift, i prostitute myself, i steal from my family, i steal from the neighbors, i go into mailboxes. if the means breaking into your house while you're away at work, that's what they're going to be doing. they just need that money. it's their number one priority. >> reporter: one of those men who everydosed on heroin was brought here in critical condition. and today while we were working on this heroin store in lorain county there were three more overdoatsz in the city of lorain. two of those people dade from suspected heroin overdoses. live from metro, paul kiss car, newschannel5. >> in less than a 24-hour span police treated two people for overdosing. they say it wasn't their first.

they say one of the victims said it was the third overdose in four days. another victim had two in three days. police say the first victim has since checked into rehab. new details tonight about to plane that crashed into an akron apartment building last november. the federal aviation administration released more than 100 photos of the crash aftermath. the pictures include charred plane debris littering the ground. part of the plane's wing hanging in a power line, and what's left of the apartment building. nine people died in the tragedy. a preliminary report revealed pilots were warned about low visibility but the exact cause of that crash still remains unclear. the investigation could take up to a year. a 26-year-old akron man was found shot to death in his car last night. akron police say ricardo travis had multiple gunshot wounds. so far no suspects have been arrested. only on 5 tonight, a gunman holds up a goods station in norton, then steals
