pierre thomas is tracking that side of the story from >> reporter: today the fbi continues hundreds of terror investigations in all 50 states. many involving suspected isis zens are receiving around the clock surveillance. the fbi concerned that there could be copycat attackers who might respond to the brussels ere is good reason for concern. in the past 2 1/2 years at least 103 americans have been charged with trying to join isis org to support the group in some way. 82 men, 16 women, mostly young, half between the ages of 15 and eenagers from virtually every part of the country. >> isis has done a very good job in attracting them in,hem and then getting them to think on their own. >> reporter: initially many were arrested for attempting to get to syria for jihad buts have been accused of attempting to carry out plots here at home.
