. news channel 5 has confirmed all southbound lanes and one northbound lane of i-71 near mansfield have following a shooting and police chase, thanks for joining us everybody. that incident backed up traffic for mile this is afternoon. kristin has been following this story all day. at least one person is dead. >> that's according to state highway patrol the alleged shooter is dead. the man he shot at the rest stop is in critical condition both directions of i-71 are back open. traffic remains slow.

state highway patrol says it happened outside the victim's car at a rest stop on i-71 in delaware county just after 11:00 a.m. then the alleged shooter left the scene headed north on i-71. when police caught up to him, a chase began. that chase continued into rich land county and came to an end there when state highway patrol says the man drove over road spikes and crash into a guardrail. troopers then car. they tell us they found him death with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. our affiliate station in columbus is reporting there was a woman in the car with the victim. the shooting happened after the man exited the restroom and walked to his car. state highway patrol has not released the name of the shooter or victim yet. no officers were injured in this incident. >> thanks so much. we're learning more about a

interstate 80. one died at the scene, another recovering at the hospital now. the driver responsible is behind bars. news 5 is digging into what happened. >> 480 west. hurry up. someone just hit and ran. >> call after call, panicked drivers on interstate 480 trying desperately to get through to emergency services. >> a car broke down. hi says the two were changing a tire on the side of i-40 west around 8:30 by the state road exit when 48-year-old clark justin drifted to the side of the road, hit them, and then he took off. >> 27-year-old at tanesha was pronounced dead at the scene the other was taken to medical center in critical condition.
