his ride up for auction. >>reporter: found his car in a police impound lot. we were also able to match the vin number hours before it was set to be sold to someone else. the vin number matches his insurance card. >> that was my baby for a while. >>reporter: it was this picture cleveland police posted on facebook that was all the confirmation he needed. th and he's had it three years. it had been sitting outside his cleveland home for an extended period of time. a neighbor had it towed. he waited a few weeks and when he went to retrieve it, cops said it was too late. >> they said it had been crushed a while back. at that point i had to chalk it up as a loss.
