terrifying moments at a suburban sandwich shop. neighbors are on edge this morning. the robber who shot and killed a store clerk is still on the run. the indians do it again. another victory for the tribe as it heads to today's game two with an early one the alc. as we begin this show, let's take a live look at progressive field where they'll be back on the field hours from now. we're looking for a 2-0 lead in that series, leading up to the world series. good morning, welcome to good morning cleveland. let's get to the forecast. we were out a progressive field yesterday morning. it really felt like a fall day,

we're in for that today as well. >> we'll see an improvement in that forecast. today we'll turn up the heat a little bit, 75 degrees is where i'm going. we're dry, not a raindrop as far as the eye can see on the radar. temperatures are very, very low, 37 degrees in wooster, another cool start in medina, 36 degrees, 35 up towards mentor. we're looking at 46 right now in cleveland. as we head throughout the day, we'll build on these numbers. we'll head for 75 degrees, that's my projected high for the day. we'll have lots of sunshine as we start out the day. if you're headed to the field, it should be really good. it won't be as cool as yesterday. the evening, the clouds will begin to build. as they do, they're signifying the changes that are under way.

through the remainder of the weekend. how much, timing, you'll have to stick around for that. we begin with a disturbing story. police in cleveland heights are searching for a robber who killed an employee at a popular sandwich shop. it happened just before 8:00 last night at mr. hero on south taylor road. a suspect came in, demanding cash. in the head and took off. the suspect has not been identified. if you have any information, you're urged to call police. another shooting to report, this time on cleveland's east side. it happened overnight on east 79th and carnegie. there is no word on their

young ohio boy that went viral last month. a deputy found the 7-year-old trying to sell his stuffed animals to buy food. the boy's mother is going to jail. tammy bethel is sentenced to six months in jail for child endangerment. and also headed to prison, two chinese nationals to admit to stealing more than $1 million from good year. they were took $1.5 million between 2013 and 2016. according to court documents, they committed wire fraud through a kickback scheme. they have been ordered to pay back the money they stole. goodyear said they're pleased with the sentence. the american red cross is putting out a plea for platelets this morning because the organization has had to cancel nearly 100 blood drives in areas hit hard by hurricane

metro red cross locations throughout ohio. platelet's primarily go to cancer patients. today, they're celebrating those fighting cancer and those who have already beaten it. there's a 5k walk that will raise money for further cancer research. it starts at 10:00 this morning at canal park. moving to baseball down, three to go for the indians. the win was thanks to a two run homer. they will try to repeat their success this afternoon. the first pitch is at 4:08 this afternoon at progressive field. josh tomlin will start. the pitcher that was supposed

getting out this manner. >> we're telling you we'll be shutting your power off. >> reporter: this business owner thought he was getting a stern phone call from the illuminating company about his electric service. >> they said a truck was on the way and would be here within the hour. >> reporter: the caller said the crew was heading to his business and would cut his power at the meter. >> i'll give the number a call. >> reporter: unless he called an 888 number and paid the ba order to pay the bill and i told them i'm not going to pay the bill. >> reporter: he admits at one point he was behind and did get this shutoff notice, but -- >> i told them i just paid the bill three weeks ago. there was no reason to shut it off. i have proof that i paid it. >> reporter: finally the caller hung up. turns out the whole thing was a scam, a con job the illuminating companied admits is sweeping the company.

let's get into that tribe forecast. they're taking on the blue jays this afternoon. 74, 75 degrees, very comfortable for a ballgame. 4:00 p.m., temperatures will be around 74 degrees. we'll be in the 70s throughout the evening, until the sun sets, then we'll lose the the mild, warm air is in place because of the warm flow we have from the south. high pressure was really working in our favor yesterday. it's going to continue to do that through your saturday afternoon. change is under way. cold front moves in from the west. we'll see rain along the periphery as we often do from the cold front systems. the timing will be later tonight, into tomorrow. here's a look at 3:00 p.m. pretty much everyone will be in the low to mid-70s.

>> a beautiful fall day forecast. the community of cleveland heights is shaken this morning. an employee at a popular sandwich shop was shot and killed during a robbery last night. police are searching for the suspect. the suspect entered the mr. hero around 8:00 last night. he demanded cash and then shot the employee in the head. he grabbed the money from the the employee died at university hospital. the suspect got away. ohio's secretary of state is looking into options for voters who were included in this year's voter purge. tens of thousands of registered voters were deleted from the state's polls. it's possible many of them didn't know they were removed. the secretary says he's asking the judge to allow voters to
