reassure you we don't have any rain. it's blue skies throughout. look at these temps, though, 48 degrees in akron, 39 in ashtabula and we don't have that cloud coverage overnight. what happens is most of the heat we gained during yesterday kind of escaped into the upper atmosphere. so it cools down a little bit more in some areas than others. 43 in akron, 43 in canton. 43 degrees in downtown cleveland. that live shot you just saw. 48 in mansfield and 48 right now in wooster. good morning, everyone. these numbers are going to continue to rise. as i'm predicting 75 degrees will be our high in cleveland, of course the farther south you go, it could be a little warmer in areas like akron, canton, towards alliance. lots of sunshine out there today. the clouds do build in, and as they do, they tell us a story. we've got changes under way. our clouds will precede our next rain chance for sunday. we'll look deeper into that. also if you want a more detailed forecast for the tribe game, maybe you're headed downtown, i'll go ahead and have that and brief you soon. nick, back to you.

>> i look hooked on phonics, but reading just in general, you gotta do it. let's go ahead now and take a look at your forecast. but, first, a beautiful, beautiful live shot. >> great shot. >> absolutely gorgeous. and you can see there that it's time to get outside. after this hit, i want you guys to get outside and enjoy today's weather. in northeast ohio the fall high is supposed to be in the 60s. we're trending toward the mid- 70s today and the 80s by the i won't give it all away because then you'd walk away from the screen, wouldn't you? another chilly start this morning. even though we're warming up today, we're still faring on the cool side. go tribe! we're looking at another home run forecast and we are going to see those rain chances going up for your sunday. so a lot to talk about. first i thought i'd start with a live shot of ashtabula. now, this is an area that i haven't quite gotten to visit yet, but i definitely want to head up to ashtabula. looks beautiful up there. you can see a little bit of
8:48 am
of look like wispy cotton candy in the sky. here's another view of ashtabula. this one not quite as beautiful or graceful. we are seeing the radar here, dry conditions throughout. and we're going to stay dry through the remainder of your saturday. current temperatures, 39 degrees in that live shot in ashtabula. 45 in downtown cleveland, 39 in wooster. really crisp start down in tuscarawas county at 38 degrees. a brisk start as well out towards areas like elyria at 44. so we are on the cooler things, but we're going to warm up quickly here. by lunchtime we should be faring near the 60s, and then around 2:00, 3:00, we'll be hitting our high for the day. 75 degrees is where i'm going to take us. tons of sunshine to start off your saturday. clouds will begin to build on the latter half of the day, and that kind of tells the story of what's coming up next. so as i've been saying all morning long, we've been getting this influx of warmer air from the southeast. that's helping to bring us into the mid-70s. now, a cold front that's approaching -- now, remember,
8:49 am
difference between the air masses. we have the cold air behind the front, the warmer air in front of it, they collide, and when they do, we get some action in the atmosphere. that's why rain is always ahead of the cold front. so we will see some showers preceding that and that will be arriving into saturday. so these models here, they kind of help me tell the picture that i want to relay to you. we are seeing a lot of cloud coverage in our southwestern counties. notice the temps, we are in the mid-70s. earlier the models were trying to bring in some rain tonight. i am not agreeing with that at saturday. sunday mornings things will change. we start off quiet. so all my sunday morning runners out there, looking at a beautiful sunday morning run, very comfortable. but then by the afternoon and evening, that's when we get our shot at rain showers. so if you got any sunday evening plans, be prepared for the wet weather. it's going to be widely scattered, light mainly, but we could see some moderate to heavy possibilities of rain at times and that will -- possibilities of rain at times and that -- pockets of rain at
