tragedy on major california highway. 13 killed. 31 injured when a tour bus smashed into this trail person doctors working through the night. a number of victims admitted to the icu. >> most of the victims were unrestrained. and therefore, were flown through the air and ended up receiving facial trauma. >> reporter: the tour bus on the way back from a casino. crashing into this big rig at significant speed just after 5:00 a.m. sunday. driver of the bus among those killed. the big rig driver shaken and injured. but able to help injured passengers out of the bus. the bus tour company has a clean accident report and no history of mechanical problems. the california highway patrol trying to determine the cause of the accident. say possible fatigue or a medical emergency could have contributed to to bus driver failing to hit the brakes.
