longa and coranza, a 64-year-old olympian. last year longa was diagnosed with lung cancer and had his left lung removed. as he came to shore his sons, who also competed in rio, jumped into the water to greet their dad. longa said afterwards that rio was a very emotional games for him. he said watching the racing of my sons and my sons watching my racing and then celebrating today with them, it's just been too much for well, as we say good night from rio, we'll return to the medal ceremony for the women's floor exercise earlier today. simone biles capped her impressive olympic debut with her fourth federica mogherinigo games while aly raisman collected the silver. her sixth over all. joining them was amy tinkler of great britain who took the bronze.

noon. 90 degrees at 4:00 p.m., a hot afternoon. not expecting much in the way of shower activity down in rio. so those temps will be warm, winter. longboat key, thank you for that picture, across the west and state ended up in the gulf of mexico, a lot of those clouds left over and the bright sunset out there. 94 degrees, that was our hot august day today, 97 the record in 1960, inch and a half or more than that above normal. we're keeping on that pace for a rainy, rainy season. nice so see that, the drought that way. at noon, 86 degrees. 93 at 4:00 p.m., a hot day as i mentioned that 94 degree high. 79 degrees right now, dew point 73, winds are calm so it will stay like this pretty much overnight. might cool down a couple more degrees. few clouds left around, clearer skies as we saw in that picture,

top of the forecast, invest 94 l, hurricane center upgraded had to a tropical depression, could become fiona, the next name on the list for the tropical storm. you see this, the convection continues, enough formation here, the the counterclockwise rotation to call had this a tropical depression. as for the model, roughly, and follow the track that hurricane center has done for this system and kept this well out to sea a and likely it will stay that way. we'll continue to keep an eye on it right there. dry conditions, this is the forecast calling for the drier conditions high above and that's been the present for the last several weeks here, another strong trom tropical -- tropical wave out of africa, potent system and a tropical storm, we'll keep an eye on that. this is the time of year we look toward africa for these storms to come off that continent and become tropical systems. so for wednesday, we see a

developing, any time off noon like we saw today, and developing inland, for sure warming up fast. plenty of sunshine, warm temperatures overall. like today, the showers will continue to cruise westward. possibly meet up with something of a west coast sea breeze, jag ed here, but it could be an area where thunderstorms develop, storms make out in the gulf of mexico much like what we saw by thursday morning, lots of sunshine early in the day, we'll continue with that easterly flow. by the weekend though, we'll transition more in to a northwesterly flow and that will give us a possibility of a likely everything will slowly move inland, we're going to reverse that pattern, it's like this weekend, the early part of next week. but we'll keep the average rain chance at 40%, 93 for our high as you can see for tomorrow, keep that 90 degree number, normal for this time of year, all the way in to the end of the week and the weekend where slightly drier air around can help to keep lower than normal rain chance. as we head in to saturday and sunday. monday, tuesday, and wednesday. so again, we'll still see showers each one of these days,
