4:16 pm
friends online? well, 8 an your side -- on your side has some answers for you. we have jonathan sellers here today. the tv business we use it every day and almost every minute. for other industries, what are you finding? are people using lot of social media? >> well, yeah definitely. and i think we kind of guessed that but what in study showed is maybe a little -- some people a little more than we expected. in the uk, people per hour which is a freelancing website surveyed or they found that 35% of men and up -- 5% of men and up to 11% of women are on social media 45 minutes of every hour at work. that's six hours a day. at -- on social media. >> that's pretty bad. >> that's pretty bad. >> that's a lot of productivity wasted. >> you would think so. >> it's friends interacting and just doing things that aren't related to work. >> and that it leads into online shopping and things like that and also involve but maybe
4:17 pm
maybe they don't have that much -- productivity or maybe they don't have much to do. so there's a little bit of i think both. there's a little bit of probably a lot of wasted time and then there's a little bit of also maybe these employees or the employers, their managers, can get them more work to do. >> what is the answer? what are they bringing out into the fold? should the companies champ down on them for using it and limit their time or do they just need to find more things to do? >> you know like i say i think it's combination of th standpoint, if you know you're on social media half the day. maybe you go to the boss and say hey can i do more? maybe that will also in turn lead to a raise for you. we can get more done at work and you know you get a little bit more money. >> so many industries now depend on social media or are trying to market to social media to get the products is services moving. >> that's why i don't think it's a need we to clamp down thing. figure out how to work together
