next steps of the investigation. >> reporter: this has been an active scene all morning. when deputies arrived, they discovered the two victims had been shot right here in the parking lot. one man was dead, the other rushed to a local hospital. investigators also say that the shooter in this case was here in the parking lot, taken into custody. he also suffered a number of injuries. he was taken to a local hospital. they tell us that the information they gathered from him will be key to figuring out exactly what happened here. >> obviously he was injured as well. so after receiving medical treatment, you know, we sent him down to a trauma center, and our detectives are waiting to speak to him. >> it was after 1:00, they got the call billion a disturbance at -- about a disturbance. the altercation spilled out into a parking lot where investigators say the two victims with are shot. >> seems like there's a lot more of that kind of thing going on around here. >> reporter: john works right

>> i have drivers on call 24/7, so they could have easily been in there taking care of the patient. and as a resident, those things are scary. >> reporter: a spokesperson for the sheriff's office tells us that this investigation is ongoing. reporting from spring hill, rodney dunningan, abc action news. calls out right now. we're trying to get an update on the two men severely injured on what appears to be a knife fight. deputies tell us the two men were arguing while outside of a home early this morning. things turned physical. both men ended up getting cut badly. they were taken to the hospital with serious wounds. it is unclear at this point if either man will face criminal charges. police putting four people in handcuffs following a high- speed chase. officers responded to a call of shots fired around 3:30 this street. that's when they heard more shots and saw two cars taking off. officers followed.

sunday, we're talking about the live pictures coming out. we are looking for a little bit of late sunday earlier in the it day the drier it will be. by the afternoon, we'll see showers and storms. we have had quite a stretch of dry weather with high pressure in charge with the high now breaking down. we are going to see the moisture coming in from the gulf. so good today. saturday looks good. dry, sunny there. temperatures in the upper 70s and then by sunday, an earlier part of the day, i think we're okay. the latter part will look at showers and thunderstorms beginning to move in. right now, 70s already out there with a lot of sunshine. looks fantastic. your day planner goes this way by lunch. 80 degrees will be in the low to middle 80s. we'll keep tweaking the timing of the forecast here for sunday but right now, a few showers and storms. you have not decided what you are going to do this weekend. >> oh, i know. >> oh, you do? >> i do know what i have

should i tell you? >> the music festival is a great time out there. traffic's flowing nicely right here at 275 at 22nd avenue. no problems to tell about you there, but the grandpa prix, the big event in downtown -- about the grand prix, the big event downtown. a couple of parking options for you, park at the city garages or private lots. two of the city garages sun dial and south will cost you $15 both saturday and sunday but $a5 for tonight. you can also park at tropicana field and pay $10 and take the free shuttle to the track. keep in mind, this is where the boat show is happening all weekend so a the lot there could fill up fast. once you get to downtown st. pete, you can take the trolley or the central avenue shuttle. those cost you $.50. make sure you have exact change if you are going to take one of those. five minutes after 9:00. abc action news is taking

all alone locked on that bus. he opens up the emergency exit window and jumps out. deps say he then hitchhiked 30 miles back home. amazingly, it happened again just seven days later to the same boy. investigators say the bus is even equipped with an alarm that goes off when the ignition is shut off that requires somebody to walk to the back of the bus to shut it off. brown and simmons had a child deactivate the alarm just before the final stop. a brassen break-in at a newspaper's offices in michigan. take a lack at two men as they take a hammer to a glass door of the arab-american news office in dearborn. about a dozen newspaper staffers were in that building overnight working on the latest edition. suspects ran off without hurting anyone. when you hear the word junction food, candy is probably the first thing that comes to mind.

material holliman who was standing with the 3-year-old. a neighbor who didn't want us to show her face says holliman was shot trying to protect the 3-year-old. >> everybody was screaming. i felt like i wanted to do something. >> investigators say holliman was the victim of a similar crime last year that's gone unsolved. police won't say if the two shootings are related but say yesterday's was not random. fortunately, both holliman and the child are expected to be okay. a south florida woman was brutally beaten by the roommate she found on craigslist. after 24 days in a coma, the 23-year-old is finally awake and talking to family. we first told you about jones last month after police arrested byron mitchell. he says jones threatened him with a knife, but prosecutors claim mitchell simply snapped.

her daughter is smiling, whispering and hugging family members and calls the recovery nothing short of a miracle. expanded evacuations in louisiana as it's on the verge of overflowing. record setting flooding has killed three people in the state. the entire state of louisiana is under a state emergency. the governor says the state doesn't have enough signs to mark all of the roads now flooded by rainwater. >> we're asking for local and parish level officials to put barriers where they need to be and to man those road closures as necessary as well to make sure we don't have people disregarding that. >> unfortunately, forecasters calling now for more rain in that region right into this weekend. if the weather does let up, the governor says he'll tour the flooded areas.

it is the last day of the legislative session and already governor rick has signed 25 bills into law. they include a measure that would let you choose someone to take control of your social media accounts after you die. another new law gives clergy the right to refuse to marry same-sex couples if it violates religious beliefs. the four remaining republican candidates for president made final arguments on the debate stage in miami last night. this before the so-called third syrupper tuesday which includes the state of florida. we're taking action for you. last night, the republican candidates competed to portray themselves as the top man in israel. senator cruz attacked trump for his stance on the israeli/palestinian relations. >> dealing with radical islamic terrorism.
