>> i'm john. funeral arrangements are now being made for hillsboro county deputy killed in the line of duty. >> 30-year-old john died yesterday when a wrong-way driver slammed into his patrol car, and for the first time tonight, his sister and speaking out about her grief. abc action news reporter joins us now with more. it's so heartbreaking. >> absolutely. definitely a very emotional time especially because deputy john comes from a long line of law enforcement officers who all knew this was just part of the job. you can see in this photo, standing beside his father who is a current sergeant with the m ma state patrol and his brother is a police officer in massachusetts. several other relatives also work in the field. his sister, katelyn says that john was a loving man who enjoyed the outdoors and going on adventures with his dog, dexter. she also says deputy is bright and willing to help anyone any time. >> still can't really believe it.

keep thinking we'll wake up from this nightmare. >> and katelyn says she and her parents were actually expecting a visit from john back in massachusetts in just a couple of weeks from now instead now they are traveling here to florida to plan a memorial, which will likely be held on friday. hillsboro county sheriff's office continuing to investigate the wrong-way crash that killed deputy and another driver. more details on that could be released tomorrow. carol, abc action news. >> thank you. we're following a developing story out of pinellas county tonight. largo police now identified a victim of a suspicious death. officers say someone was walking when they spotted a woman's body in some bushes this morning. investigators were able to figure out who she was by running her fingerprints. deputies are not releasing the woman's name right now, but we expect to find out who she is tomorrow, and there's no word yet on how she passed away. now, the most accurate weather team in florida, abc action weather. >> happy sunday night, everybody.

bill logan here in the abc action weather center keeping an eye on the rain that has been moving through our area into the overnight hours in through the evening hours. big-time storm right now with a tornado watch/warning and severe thunderstorm warning right around this region as yet another area of low pressure pushes in through the southeast. bring a little bit of rain around the region. we've got streets out there right now but no major downpours in the area. looking at 70 degrees in palm harbor and tampa. loots and apollo beach at 72. 74 still in frost proof, and looks still a little bit cooler at 68 degrees. going through the overnight and into tomorrow, looking good. we are going to start out about 67 degrees. up to 8 #0 by later on. we will see that chance of showers, though. i'll give you p pinpoint reaction on where it's going to fall on your monday in about 2 minutes or so. back over to you. >> we'll check in with you next.

we are now just two days away from florida's all-important primary. republican front runner donald trump getting help on the campaign trail here from sarah palin. the former alaskan governor stopping by the strawberry festival this afternoon. hundreds of supporters, posed for pictures and answered questions about her endorsement for trump. palin told us she thinks trump has a great chance of winning the florida vote tuesday based on what she heard today. >> they know that, well, if we keep going the way that we're going with the same politicians calling the same shots, it's not going to get any better so people that i've been speaking with here in florida are saying, yeah, we are ready for something different, new energy, new ideas, new solutions. >> palin also campaigned for trump at a rodeo in arcadia today. >> trump himself will be in tampa tomorrow holding a rally at the convention center downtown starting at 2 p.m. police are closing franklin street at 8:00 in the morning ahead of this event. the billionaire is already in florida tonight speaking earlier

in boca raton. >> the campaign stops at the same time a new poll showing donald trump holding a two-to-one lead here in florida with just two days left before primary day, wall street journal and nbc teaming up to find 43% of voters here support trump compared to 22% from marco rubio, 21% for ted cruz, and 9% for john kasich. trump is stirring up more controversy tonight because of protests at his rallies. some of them getting violent. take a look at this video out of kansas city. it's showing demonstrators being arrested and sprayed in the face with pepper spray. while there were calmer crowds at trump's events today in florida, illinois, and ohio, there was still plenty of uprising after a video went viral showing a trump supporter punching a protester. trump says he's considering paying that attacker's legal fees. now, we're hearing from the protester who tried to jump on stage during a rally in ohio yesterday. that man is charged with disorderly conduct and inducing

panic, but he says he was just trying to send a message. >> we can find our strength, and we can stand up against donald trump and against this new wave he's ushering in of -- of truly just violent white supremist ideas. >> other candidates are calling on trump to change the tone he is using, but trump kept taunting demonstrators, even claiming they've been sent from democrat bernie sanders. >> sanders had some strong words to say tonight about those claims towards his supporters. the vermont senator, along with front runner hilary clinton appearing in a town hall on cnn, and the two democrats making their final pitches to voters ahead of tuesday's major primaries during the first exchange tonight in ohio. sanders went right for trump, and clinton also pointed fingers at the gop leader. >> trump has got to get on the tv and tell his supporters that violence in the political

acceptable, end of discussion. >> what trump has done is, like, a case of political arson. you know, he has lit the fire, and then he throws his hands up. >> clinton will get -- also get some more campaign help right here in florida from her husband, former president bill clinton, is set to rally for her tomorrow in tallahassee, jacksonville, and in winter park. and covering county tonight where someone stole personal information from dozens of people, deputies say that person broke into the barrington rv park in hudson. the burglar stealing a safe with data including credit card information for about 80 people leving there. it happened some time between 10:00 last night and 7:30 this morning. detectives are now urging the victims to monitor their credit card activity, and anyone who knows more about this burglary is asked to call police. thanks to a tip from the public, tampa police have now caught a man accused of hitting a bike rider and driving off. officers say joseph ragsdale

struck the victim early saturday street north. the victim right now is fighting for their life. he's now charged with leading the scene of the crash. this just in, a police officer shot in miami-dade has now died. the police chief calling the shooting an unprovoked attack. investigators have now arrested the accused shooter. they say officers were just doing their jobs this afternoon when the suspect opened fire on them outside the police station. several officers fired back. the officer killed is identified as colson. he was a four-year veteran, just days shy of his 29th birthday. and we have dramatic new video coming in out of turkey tonight. i mean, take a look at this. showing the after math of a deadly explosion in the country's capitol. at least 34 people are dead after that blast, and about 125 others are hurt. authorities say they believe the attack was carried out by kurdish militants.

it appears suicide bombers blew up a car close to the bus stop. the united states is already condemned the attack and pledging the help turkey fight back against terrorism. happening tomorrow, a new decision could come down in the hogan sex tape trial. the judge is weighing whether to testify. last week, the radio host talked about the case on his show saying he wants to move on from the controversy. hogan is suing the author for $100 million. also tomorrow, millions will tune in to the bachelor for the finale, and no doubt, bachelor ben is loved throughout the country, but there's another bachelorette that also stole america's heart and this community's. tampa's mary delgado. but after her whirlwind romance and proposal from pro fisherman, mary's romance in life began to unravel. we are talking about a domestic to dui. this young woman, who was once front and center in this

has died while on spring break right here. >> 20-year-old tyler gilmore fell from a parking garage the panama city beach. his body was found just before 1 am. his friend said he had been drinking all day on saturday he was seen intoxicated about two hours before his body was discovered. they don't believe anyone else's involved. six people recovering tonight including four children after being shot at a florida gun range. the shooting in marion county was accidental. a 21-year-old man was loading a shotgun when he fired by mistake. even though he wasn't pointing it at anyone, the bullet hit the concrete floor and downstream the group. detectives say it's a reminder to be extra cautious. weapons are something we need to be responsible with entry with respect.

we will maintain mild temperatures even though it was a cold front that pushed through a brought the rain. here is the line of showers as it stands. just off shore into the gulf of mexico we see scattershot -- rain. a few showers right now just south of keystone. into the golf around palm harbor a few showers spotted. very light showers, not much in a way of accumulation. these have not been very heavy storms but they have been continuing to move from the west to the east.

the chances an amateur making the cut in a pga tournament pretty low but the chances of an amateur actually winning a tournament, beyond low. it only happened a handful times in history. it was chase today in the final round of the championship. he became the first amateur to win a tournament since phil mickelson did in 1991. he was just three years old at the time. according to held by six shots entering the day and started his final round with this birdie. his magic would eventually run out and he finished with two under 69 for the day. it's good for fourth place. mccoy will never forget beating speed. the final round went down to fill half and charles wurtzel. he missed his par putt so
