the parents are demanding the children be moved to the next grade level after opting out of the fsa test. >> live at veterans elementary school, rodney, pasco is one of the districts named in the lawsuit. >> reporter: that's right, deiah. in fact, seven local school districts are beinsued across the state. school doesn't start until monday but administrators already have to deal with the major issue, parents believing unfairly punished. the 14 parents involved in this fsa lawsuit are hoping to get an emergency order from a judge allowing theirkidso move on to the forth gradpip districts incle pasco, hernando, orge, osceola, sarasota, broward and seminole. some of the kids who opted out of the florida standards assessment tests were honor roll students. here is the heart of the issue you. the families argue the rules are confusing and school

them all the same. they also believe a student should advance to the next grade based on their entire school year's body of work, not just standardized test scores. just this year, we spoke with a local hillsborough county parent who explained why his kids would opt out. >> we don't feel that a test should be used as a high stakes test that is tied to whether or not a child is going to go on to the next grade, whether they are going to be put in >> reporter: the parents involved also say it's not fair because other students who take the test and do poorly are allowed to move on to the fourth grade. >> a number of parents we spoke with are also concerned that if their kids are held back this will affect their education going forward. this is a story we will continue to follow. reporting live in pasco county this morning, rodney dunningan, abc action newsp. >> thanks, rodney.
