it's the beach. how can you go wrong? still scattered showers. this is an on shore pattern. the rains come in from the gulf. you knowly we see rains building in overnight. we saw it last night and we will see it again tonight. if you live along the coast from clearwater on to the north, about 2:00, 3:00 in the morning, expect a few more showers, maybe even a couple of thunderstorms. that will continue into the morning hours. usually by the evening, everything pushes inland. if you're planning your weekend, by then we'v changes that i think you're going to like. temperatures right now anywhere from the low 80s in lakeland. 86 in auburndale. spring hill 81. down south, south of i-4, you're closer to 90 than 80. apollo beach and sarasota. outside right now, tampa at the airport mostly cloudy. 89 degrees. the dew point is 75.

ballpark at 90. the record is 95. st. pete mostly cloudy and 85. and sarasota also mostly cloudy earlier. but now the sun broke through and they are sunny and 88 degrees. southwest winds. that's your gulf breeze coming in at about 11 miles per hour. there's the satellite. early on this morning, there's the rain. we had some scattered storms. but most of this just tropical rains. you walk outside in the morning and you feel like you got hit in the face with a wet tropical air mass on top of us. the way you play this, not just tonight but right on through friday is there could be a chance of a shower at any point in time. by the evening though, those showers begin to push east. by 10:00, folks in polk county, maybe down to hardee and desoto, you could see scattered storms. mostly dry closer to the beach. by 2:00, 3:00 in the morning, more showers pop up. now, coverage might only be 20, 30%, but tomorrow morning you

especially citrus and hernando, better chance of morning showers. outside of that, i think things begin to clear out rather nicely along the coast. and then everything pushes inland. so tomorrow, much like today. a tropical day. it will feel like azon a but coverage of the rain will only be about maybe one in three folks will get any rain at all. friday, we start to see drier air come in. i'm not ready to say sub eall day but better than today and tomorrow. and coverage will be back which means more sunshine earlier in the day. that extends to the weekend. if you're making the weekend plans now, more sun early and storms popping up later on in the day. typical florida weather. i mentioned this to paul and laura. the peak was september 10th of atlantic hurricane season. we're headed downtill hill. one thing to see. an uptick in october. that's gulf of mexico storms. that's why we can't let our guards down yet.
