and weather. not much going on. it's a good thing. checking with live drive -- as far as weather is concerned, a couple of showers. zooming in closer, in fact we're back here and checking in on the titan doppler radar and you can see we have those morning coastal showers we've been talking motion and you can see it's not making that much progress but eventually looking at showers across palm harbor say around 7:00, 8:00. it's not going to amount to much. i don't think it will be as widespread. in fact as we've had it the last several days. we have dry air that will limit rain coverage so i think interior counties will see the most coverage. there it will be only 20% so mostly dry today, upper 70s to lower 80s. that dry air by the way is up above, several thousand feet. here below we're still looking at humidity.

and the 80s will feel like 90s and you get the idea. 90 degrees for -- between 1:00 and 4:00 and that is the window for showers and storms. rain coverage only 20% so looking pretty good here so far weatherwise. the morning commute, nice start and hopefully will continue that way. looking great on the roads, no crashes no breakdowns. live drive -- we have live pictures from i-4 around i-75 heading back into tampa. later on this will become of the busiest areas of traffic but right now things look great there. smooth ride from lakeland all the way into downtown tampa on i-4. checking the drive on i- 275 at gandy in pinellas county, looking great from the sunshine skyway all the way to the howard frankland bridge. your drive times on some of the major roads not too bad, in the yellow on u.s. 19 southbound between tampa road and eastbay. 11 minutes that is mainly due to the traffic lights.

and 4 minutes on dale mabry from fletcher to waters. it's coming up now on 5:32. breaking news overnight -- deputies in hillsborough county are investigating a shooting right now. it happened along east fowler avenue in thonotosassa. they are not releasing very many details now, only that it was drug related and the injuries are not life threatening and they are in contact with everybody involved. deputies found a sebring man dead on his kitchen floor and now searching for the people he recently hired to help him do work around his house. he was 95 years old, name dominick demundo, found dead off his home monday in wellington drive in sebring. authorities doing a welfare check discovered his body. the sheriff has very little information about the investigation. breaking information from charlotte. protesters and rioters took over the streets after a deadly shooting of a black man by police. abc action news reporter lindsay logue is in the studio and tracking the violence.

long ago. >> wrapped up in some places, starting in others. violence spilled on to a major highway, i-85 where protesters and looters shut it down. traffic at a standstill for miles. protesters are setting fires in the streets and looting trucks that are stuck on the highway. one truck driver told a news station in charlie that police emptied her truck and are -- charlotte that police emptied her truck and are burning everything inside. police shot and killed a man. they say he had a gun, posed imminent threat to officers. anry crowd gathered near where the shooting happened. and looted. police responded with tear gas to keep the crowds at a distance. >> there is something going on across this nation that needs to be addressed. throwing of water bottles and destroying city vehicles i don't condone that. by no means. but as far as my child, my

worrd about them. >> my brother. >> something has to be done. >> 12 officers were injured during clashes with the protesters overnight. on facebook a woman who says she's scott's daughter claimed her father was unarmed at the time of the shooting. despite police saying they recovered the gun he was holding when they shot him. 5:34. a little scare at a pasco county hospital when an explosion prompted preparations for evacuation. a fire alarm went of 5:30 yesterday afternoon. the fire rescue chief telling us there was a small explosion in the hospital's industrial air conditioning unit. that shut down the ac throughout the entire hospital. original reports also stated the power was out from that explosion but that was not true. pasco county eoc fire rescue, sheriff's office, county government officials, all responded in case evacuations were needed. fortunately 8:30 the air was fixed and the hospital officials gave the all-clear.

hours. so it got warm in there. a lot of people were sweaty and stuff but it seems to be up and running now and everything is cooling off in there and seems to be back to normal. the hospital told us all their systems are up and running and that they have no issues at this time. >> for two hours all incoming patients were diverted to other hospitals. crews working to figure out what caused that explosion. just last month you remember a lightning strike sparked a brief fire and power hospital in hudson. 200 patients were evacuated. and it reopened five days later. finding out more water testing is going to be done today near the massive sinkhole with radioactive water. now the company that many say didn't alert the public quickly enough is on aapology tour. adam winer is live in downtown tampa with more on what is happening there today. >> reporter: good morning. is the water in hillsborough county going to be affected?

demanding an answer from this -- this company mosaic in their meeting later today may also demand that same apology that two of mosaic's top executives gave to polk county commissioners yesterday. the phosphate company admitted they should have let the public know immediately this giant hole opened up under a pond of toxic water that is used in the fertilizer manufacturing process. instead it was several weeks before the public found out and in 215 million gallons of radioactive water seeped into the area's aquifer in the new rails area. mosaic hired an independent company to test peoples' water, so far they've tested 20 private wells. they are scheduled to visit another 27 today and we could get results back as soon as today for that first batch. live in tampa, adam winer. abc action news.

bombs in two states is facing criminal charges in two states this morning. investigators say ahmed khan rahami planted a bomb that injured 31 people in the new york chelsea neighborhood saturday. he was arrested monday after a shootout with police. he's accused of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction along with other charges. investigators say he planted a second bomb in chelsea that didn't detonate. another bomb exploded harmlessly in a seaside town in new jersey and another set of explosives left in a tr elizabeth, new jersey. the last bomb was discovered by a homeless plan and his friend. they found the backpack with explosives in it and both men being hailed as heroes. >> i am glad i was able to realize what the situation was and react in such a way that thank good ntsb no one got hurt. >> as soon as they saw what was inside they went to police. lee parker who you saw there picked up the backback he said because he really needs one.

blue shopping bag. dozens of countries around the world agreed to take in 360,000 refugees from various countries. president obama hosted the 50- country global summit that made that decision. that number is double the number of refugees that were accepted last year. however, the united nations says it's not enough. the organization says more than one million refugees need to be resettled. in democracy 2016 the campaign trail today after taking yesterday off to prepare for next week's debate. >> clinton will attend a rally in orlando this afternoon where she plans to discuss her economic plan. you should expect to see a lot of clinton campaign ads the next seven weeks. abc news reporting she will spend more than $36 million on tv ads here in florida compared to trump's $700,000. prominent democrats who support clinton continue to bash trump as a failed businessman. >> the last thing america wants

5:45. on this early wednesday morning. a miami construction worker is in critical but stable condition now for being struck by lightning. he was working on the top floor of the large building you saw tuesday afternoon when a storm moved in. the project manager told a local tv station he ordered workers to evacuate but it was too late. that victim was awake and talking on the way to the hospital so that is a good sign. he's expected to recover. a farm in kentucky is the scene of a rare birth.

couple of days. even lower rain chances, they have not been astronomical but with the dry air and area of low pressure, counterclockwise flow will be pulling the dry air over us. not going to be dry at the surface. it's still going to be hot and humid but up above and showers and storms try to get going they will be limited next few days. we're talking 20% coverage. much lower than the average which is about 30% to 40% this time of year. tropics still busy this time of year. karl and lisa are out there. we'll talk about kar there's the low continuing to provide us with about 20% to 30% rain chances the next tu days. it's not going to shut off the rain chances but do a number on it. as we look at futurecast, high resolution model, this one usually blows up things a little more so than they end up being. look at this, even this model not depicting much in the way of showers and storms.

land masses. sure, it's been impacting cabo verde but it's headed to the north as it will intensify. karl has been a mess the last few days. very disorganized, dry air, strong winds up above. it limits intensity. now back to a tropical depression and won't even hit bermuda or near bermuda as a hurricane now. it's going to move through this weekend as a tropical storm. gusty winds, rainfall but certainly not the life threatening situation that we had been look at there with the cat 2. for us it's in because as i mentioned we're still humid at the surface so summer continue despite the fact that today's the last full day. fall begins officially tomorrow at 10:21 eastern time. our first weekend of fall 30% rain chances in the afternoon. summer thunderstorms with highs near 90. that's not atypical. it's pretty much where we should be, upper 80s around tampa. it will be a while.
