was found alone on a small island. >> it is scary. we want to get right to the latest on that search right now. abc action news reporter isabel is live. >> reporter: good morning, i did just check in and hillsborough county deputies tell me they are waiting for sunrise to get back out on the water. family members of 38-year-old william morris are looking morris took his 3-year-old son jet skiing on the alafia river yesterday. morris' wife face timed his phone, his son answered. someone spotted the child by himself on a small island west of i-75 and stayed with him until deputies arrived. now, it is too dark out here to see, but that island is just a thousand feet in that direction. also found on the bank of that

wallet and life jacket, but no other sign of this man. live in hillsborough county, isabel rosales abc action news. and now to breaking news in tampa, a shooting sent two men to the hospital. it happened just after midnight. one is in critical condition. the other has nonlife- threatening injuries. police are on the scene trying to find out what led up to the shooting. we also have breaking news from usf. police investigating robbery outside the holly apartments. we'll bring you more information on this as soon as it becomes available. let's get a check on your forecast the first day of november. >> it's cool for the first day of november. not a front, just temperatures dropping with lower humidity up to the north. i tell you what. the dew points are also in the 50s. 54 in plant city, 70 in clear water, but the visibility has been dropping so far this morning. the worst we've seen three quarters of a mile.

florida is once again at the center of the political world. both hillary and bill clinton will make campaign stops here in the bay area. hillary clinton will be speaking and rodney we're expecting to see plenty from the candidates over the nest week. >> reporter: you are right about that. as you know every presidential election florida of course plays a key in this battleground state for this election, and this year will certainly be hillary clinton set to speak at the college this afternoon at 3:00. the gates open at 1, and they're expecting a pretty big crowd. yesterday she spoke in cincinnati ohio touting her plans for the country. that event will be held at the wildwood rec center. the event starts at 6:30 tonight. for the past few days hillary clinton has been forced to address the fbi investigation

once again. the clinton campaign is blasting fbi director james comey for notifying lawmakers of this investigation without detailing exactly what the bureau is looking for. she addressed this issue in a speech yesterday. >> i will tell you this, if they want to look at some more e-mails of one of my staffers by all means go ahead, look at them, and i know they will reach the same conclusion they reached when they looked at e-mails last year, right? >> reporter: fbi officials are unlikely to finish its new investigation into more hillary clinton e-mails before this election next week, so this will remain an ongoing topic for the foreseeable future. as for the campaign vice president joe biden will be campaigning for hillary clinton tomorrow in tampa as well. of course we will have crews at both of the clinton events today.

for now reporting live in dade city. on the republican side, donald trump is returning to campaign here in florida tomorrow. he's not holding a rally here in the bay area. instead he'll be in orlando, pensacola and jacksonville. trump's running mate held a rally at the st. pete's county airport. 5 minutes into the speech, the power went out. pence had to improvise. he used a bull horn to speak to supporters until the power came back o florida republicans to get out and vote. >> if you go out and make sure that florida is ready, we will elect donald trump as the 45th president of the united states of america, and we will make america great again. >> pence did address the fbi investigation into clinton's e- mail saying, quote, in this country no one is above the law. senator marco rubio is

in lakeland, then in bradenton. senator rubio cast his vote in miami monday. he also took some time to meet with other voters eager to beat the election day crowds. the republican is hoping to retain his seat after running for president earlier this year. murphy also voted early yesterday in west palm beach. rubio called trump horrifying, dangerous and a con artist while running against him for the presidential nomination. for rubio avoided trump's name. one organization is grading thousands of voters on their attendance at the polls. the voter participation center says it's sending the report cards to help get out the vote in north carolina. that group is targeting unmarried women, african- americans, latinos and millennials. some of the people who got the report cards say they weren't accurate and many felt it was

>> we shouldn't be judged on how we vote compared to the state or anybody else on how we vote. >> the voter participation center says it's helped 3 million people register to vote and vote since 2014. coming up on 5:07. it's now a lot harder for animal abusers to adopt or buy a cut in hillsborough county. the ordinance prevents people convicted of animal abuse from owning pet or living in the same home where without a court order. it also requires anyone who wants to adopt a pet to sign an affidavit attesting they are not listed on the abuse registry. retailers and shelters will be required to check that registry whenever someone wants to adopt. it might be the strangest story you'll hear today. a man faces battery charges for throwing his glass eye at two people. the bizarre incident happening

doctors were treating edward dorsey, he took out his eye and threw it at an er doctor and an er nurse. the family of a fort myers toddler are suing cvs after the wrong dosage sent that child to the hospital. after she took the medicine she got sick and had to go to the hospital. the lawsuit says she'll have health problems the rest of her life. police say the owner of a clear water company forced himself on a woman during a job interview. police say led the woman into a back room, threw her on to a matt rest on the floor and forced her into oral sex. another woman says she quit six months ago because of sexual harassment. >> he'd try to remove his and take it out, and no. >> he would touch himself. >> yes. >> i went to his desk one day,

i had to walk away. according to the report, the business does have security cameras, but youseff turned them off during the encounter. he later told police the victim came on o'him. pasco deputies now looking for a father and son they say beat up a man before stealing his cell phone and glasses. deputies say charles white also tried to steal his motorcycle. authorities believe the father and son may ford f350. crews have cleared the fedex cargo plane that caught fire. that plane had been sitting on the runway since that fire caused major damage to the plane and also the tarmac on friday. investigators just determined it was safe to move on monday. the damaged part of the runway is still closed. that fire sparked when the plane was landing. nobody was hurt but the faa is now investigating. >> we'll check in now with ivan

welcome back. a horrifying accident to tell you about this morning from texas. a shuttle bus dragged a texas state university student 500 feet down the road during a frat party at an off campus park. no one realized this, though, until the next day. authorities aren't sure how 20- year-old jordan taylor got caught up under the bus night. the bus driver says he didn't see anything but the bus did develop some mechanical problems. the next day a mechanic came out to fix it and found taylor's body under it. the sheriff is calling this a terrible accident. two young children in oregon are recovering after they were accidentally shot by their father's rifle. 27-year-old zack davis took his three young kids out hunting monday. davis was walking back to his pickup truck when his rifle

the 2-year-old son suffered a broken leg, his 4-year-old sister was struck in the left shin with metal fragments from the same bullet. another 6-year-old sibling was not injured. investigators are now trying to figure out how the rifle accidentally discharged. a slot machine in new york makes a $43 million mistake. katrina bookman flashed a smile in front of the slot machine on this selfie in august, evidence of her megawin or so she thought. even though the machine showed a was not telling her the machine malfunctioned. >> so what did i win. >> he said you didn't win nothing. he offered me steak dinner. >> a steak dinner. >> yeah, a steak dinner. >> bookman's attorney says at the very least she should win the maximum allowed on the machine, $6500. she plans to sue the casino. the gaming commission says by law the casino can't give her the max payout. the only win she's entitled to is $2.25 and that steak dinner.

franklin. your drive on the veterans looking good so far. a lot of that construction has cleared. no more detours or delays. >> thanks. 17 minutes after 5 right now, a 12-year-old boy in texas. 12 years old is facing several charges right now after police say he led them on a car chase while drunk. an austin police officer says at 12 he tried to pull over that 12-year-old's vehicle yesterday morning after the boy nearly hit the boy crashed head on into another car. he kept going and then crashed into a power pole and flipped the suv he was driving. amazingly he only has minor injuries. it's not clear whose vehicle he was driving or how he got it. more reasons to skip the gym this morning, guys. >> like we need them. wait until you hear what one scientist says about the secret benefits of the dad bod. >> yes. last night shell overholt was at a publix when a teenager stole her purse right out of her cart. a manager took off chasing down the purse snatcher, nabbing the 16-year-old. the purse snatcher was arrested but publix's manager is facing discipline, maybe even demotion for violating publix's policy for going too far to stop a crime. >> what is morally correct, >> a store representative is responding by saying, quote, the safety of our customers and associates is a priority, and we fully investigated the incident and made a decision based on the facts. it's 5:24 right now. i want to know what you think about this. do you think the dad bod is the pinnacle of male evolution? >> of course it is.
