road. >> it is astonishing. i can't believe something would happen in this neighborhood. >> 17-year-old justin frazier was trying to steal a videogame system from the home when mccoy's father confronted him there was a brief fight, frazier pulls a gun and then runs out of the home into a neighbors house where police found him. mccoy senior broke his hand, two pelicans were found. mccoy's neighborhood seems to be well protected, there is a wall surrounding it, a security gate and a security guard with his own car. we did some digging and there has only been one other crime inside the reserved in the past year. that was a reported theft. tonight it is not clear how frazier got into the neighborhood, but it proves crime this scary can happen anywhere and to anyone.

our abc station in new york city says the second officer is expected to survive. the robbery suspect died in a shootout. a construction worker shocked on the job in critical condition in the hospital. it happened as the man worked on the third floor of a project in downtown syncope. ashley yore is live near second street north and third avenue north. a colleague's quick thinking probably saved his life. >> reporter: that is right, spoke with another construction worker who is here on the ground when his friend was shot. he ran upstairs, saw his friend on fire put out the flames. a gutter was the conduit for the electricity. take a look at this cell phone video taken right after the

saint pete fire says the man was working on a piece of gutter on the third floor standing on a metal ladder when it made contact with a wire, the wire, 7200 volts of electricity. the man fell off the ladder, his body off almost caught fire. he has first and second degree burns on nearly 40% of his body. the rescue teams face another challenge when they arrived to help. >> one of our biggest concerns was because the gutters themselves were still in contact with the power lines and the building, so there were parts of the building energized as well so it was dangerous for the rescuers.>> reporter: they shut power off around downtown for a few hours today but all the power is back on. police say the construction worker was talking when he went to the hospital but he is critically hurt. we will keep you posted on his condition.

new information into this deadly school bus crash in baltimore earlier this week. we are learning the bus driver shouldn't have been driving at all. state officials say his license was suspended. he also pleaded guilty in 2012 to second-degree assault. they said someone with a violent crime conviction cannot operate a school bus. the crash killed chapl and five other people.
