tonight rally will be post poned until another day. >> donald trump just called off a rally after thousands of protesters of the streets of chicago. tempers flared. right now hundreds of protesters are still line the streets of chicago hours after planned rally for donald trump was supposed to start. >> the protesters didn't want trump on the campus of the over allegations he preaches hate and intolerance. this is about 8:00 tonight. the story. people fired up for trump took evening. and sorted fists that were flying. this guy got on stage and torre republican frontrunner postponed tonight rally, saying he didn't want to see people hurt at this event in chicago.

friends say a man attacked him and took off. >> the victim's friends told him he walked up on a fight without realizing what was going on. field sutton is outside that bar where it all happened. you found out the sheriff's office still has not been able to id the suspect. >> reporter: they are asking for help. this was originally having -- happening on wednesday night. three friends had gone to dinner here at the gators dockside and then they went next door to tavern at the creek to watch one of those parking lot car shows. when they were ready to leave they ran into trouble. we're leaving the names out of this story because no one has been charged in the victim's friends spoke on -- on condition of anonymity. >> another gentleman toward me and him and we were both stop to the front door. he reaches over and cups and grabs her private area. >> reporter: this man describes the fight that broke out when he try to confront the guy who touched his friend inappropriately.

ted cruz already talking like the gop race is down to two candidates. cruz told supporters in a later today -- in orlando today he is the only person that can compete with donald trump. the trump when would allow trump to take all of florida's 99 delegates. cruz believes he can still close the gap. >> i have 361. donald has 99 more than i do. nobody else is remotely close. >> cruz also pointed out he is the only candidate who has been donald trump in any of the races so far. you can hear more of his interview and what else he had to say to central florida voters on wftv.com. and orange county woman is facing attempted murder charges after prosecutors say she lied about her role in a shooting at a gas station in december. stephanie jones told authorities she was in her fan during this fight she also told them her son was accidentally

however, once authorities saw the surveillance video they found out jones fired her gun during the fight and her son was accidentally shot while trying to grab the gun from her. investigators are searching for more human trafficking and child porn victims in central florida. >> this comes hours after they arrested in orange county man they say forced local high school students into prostitution. mike manzoni has important information to keep children safe from falling victim. >> reporter: this is martin right the third. investigators that he contacted the teenagers are either social media for mutual friends and used his cell phone to advertise them on backpage.com as seductive sweethearts. >> he would offer them ways to make money. >> reporter: investigators say he drove them to meet other men for sex and took the money they earned. court documents also show he had sex with an underage girl while she was unconscious and forced her to take nude photos

where the legislature decided not to expand health insurance. governor. rick scott told us it is time to meticulously revise this budget. >> i am going to look for duplicate services, things that we can save money where we can't get a return on investment. i think we have a good budget. >> we asked governor scott if there's any possibility he will be to the budget but he declined to tell us, arguing he has to review it line by line. he had been pushing for a $1 billion tax-cut package for legislators only agreed to a portion of that. tonight two orange county residents will spend a year in jail for their involvement in and apopka dogfighting ring. these two were both found guilty of fighting and baiting animals today. we have been following this case since officers arrested more than two dozen people at it a home in 2014 where they found more than 30 dogs are prosecutors told us cases like this are often difficult to take to trial.

a call into our newsroom helped reunite a missing teen with his family. he is in the hospital fighting for his life. >> news i was watching, you guys said we have him in icu. >> armando vandyke's parents called police when the sun didn't come home after a trip to the gym wednesday afternoon. they now know he was hit by a car. armando was unconscious and had no id with him. his family said they called everywhere, including the hospital, but couldn't find him. >> we call the hospital where he was listed as a john doe. >> we run does we ran armando's picture this morning and a nurse recognize the picture. she called us and we put her in touch with police on a three- way call. tonight armando is in a coma in

folks are there with him . state route 407 is closed because of a brush fire. firefighters are monitoring hotspots in titusville between state road 405 and i-95. firefighters told us the fire was around 90% contained in the road is expected to be closed until morning. earlier today crews used rush trucks and helicopter to fight the fire. right now it is not clear how the fire started. the fire chief said it began in thick brush. we will let you know when they reopen state road 407. farther south two brushfires the damaged homes earlier this week still have not rekindled. on wednesday we told you firefighters battled a 45 acre brush fire that melted the siding on some homes and forced some folks to evacuate. yesterday another 5 acre fire broke out in the area of quentin avenue.

a crew monitoring this scene as a precaution. people in windermere say they don't want a mosque built near their home. a man is proposing to put the windermere religious center on this piece of property outside of kings point. the land is zoned residential and the owner is trying to convince the county to allow a zoning change to let the mosque be built. people say it is not about what is being built, they just don't want the extra traffic and ways around their homes. >> this is single-family dwelling. this is what we want to concentrate on. we each have 2 acres and we enjoy our peace and quiet. >> a community meeting will be held on wednesday at 6 pm at sunset park elementary . the city of orlando is working on an ordinance aimed at making more of the buildings downtown green and energy- efficient. only eyewitness news got a copy of this ordinance that will require about 1100 businesses and building owners to disclose their energy star rating to the city each year. is below 75 the owners will

for their father's arrest tonight. investigators believe 28-year-old patrick earl scott is taking the children with him to his home in texas. the children's mother says their father showed up under the pretense of having a visit. he then took off with the two and four-year-old . the city of belle isle has settled a case against a police officer was accusing the department of discrimination. we told you in internal affairs report showed sergeant. kevin carter was found in the competence and insubordinate for a -- for ignoring directives. we found out the city. $45,000 as part of an agreement in which carter retired nearly $17,000 of that went to attorney fees the rest went to carter. putnam county deputies say they're interviewing a person of interest in the case of a man whose body was found buried in ocala. the body of 44-year-old tommy lombardo was found on friday at the ocala national forest. he was reported missing by his

putnam county deputies took over the case because they believe the man died there. in lake county we got a look at the training deputies are doing to defuse situations with people suffering from mental illness. they did role-playing, one of those including a mentally ill person having knife, a real- life situation some deputies experienced in 2014. deputies say exercises like these help them empathize with the person they are trying to help. we have learned the department of transportation will have to pay out nearly $1.5 million to settle a lawsuit in seminole county. the suit was filed by the owner of the orlando highlight property in castleberry. he wanted to stop the construction of that flyover along highway 17 property in castleberry. he wanted to stop the construction of that flyover along highway 1792 and state road 436, saying it would hurt local businesses. he won big. >> orlando city season opener will go down as one of the most incredible matches in mls history. their second match of the 2016 campaign. tonight against chicago.
