being wiped out by a tornado this week. churches in the area are stepping up and helping people work through their grief. w-f-x-r's charlie cooper paid the evergreen baptist church a visit this morning --where a service was held to help people get through this dark time. 00:01:00-00:05:0000:56:-00:59 1:12-1:17 this past week evergreen baptist church has served as somewhat of a service center allowing volunteers and disaster relief workers to come in and just take a break. the paster says throughout all this he's been trying to restore a sense of normalcy back into the commujity. one the reasons he decided to still hold sunday service.inside of evergreen baptist church --voices and hands lift in worship. the church is one of the only things still standing after a tornado ripped through the community surrounding it.it could have been so much worse and we want to take some time and say lord thank you.their service is a way to help people cope with the tragedy. just coming into the area is going to be traumatic so were going to talk through a little bit of that of how not to hold in those emotions but share them.for people like mike floyd whose family lost everything-- this ministry means the world.the people here are unlike people in most communities-- they come together. the stuff that we have out there it's just stuff. we're left here on this earth as christians to share that love and show that love. we're just overwhelmed with

and are still in the hospital tonight. the shooter's been identified as staff sergeant ronald hamilton. 32-years-old. he was assigned to the pentagon. and now -- he's accused of killing a marine veteran who was working her very first shift as a police officer. 28-year-old ashley gwin-den had just been sworn in on friday. the prince william county police deparment posted this picture with the caption... "welcome officers steven kendall & ashley gwin-den who were sworn in today & begin their shifts this weekend. be safe!" less than 24-hours-later... officer gwin-den was dead. "she was not only driven and passionate, but exceedingly intelligent. she struck us that way as we interviewed her, prior to hiring and rehiring her, it's always the type of officer we are seeking, that type of passion and intelligence." officer gwin-den -- and two other officers -- were responding to a call about a domestic disturbance at a home in woodbridge, virginia. that's about 20 miles south of washington, d.c. police say -- when they approached the front door -- the suspect opened fire. all three officers were hit. officer gwin-den died at the hospital. the other two are still there -- recovering. as for the suspect -- staff sergeant hamilton surrernded without further incident. when officers were finally able to search his home... they found his wife -- dead. they also found the couple's 11-year-old son... scared, but not hurt. hamilton's now facing several charges. including -- first degree murder of his wife... and capitol murder of a police officer the suspect is due in court tomorrow morning.

reporting.fisher reporting.this isn't the first tragedy for officer gwin-den's family. her father -- who was in the national guard -- committed suicide after returning from iraq. in franklin county, two men were arrested on drug charges-- after traffic stop. doug martin was pulled over by police friday night and booked on an outstanding warrant, dui and having an open container. this man--darius dunbar of michigan was also in the car. he was arrested on felony drug charges while being processed at the jail--- officers say they found these 30 small packages of cocaine in his pants. dunbar was charged with promoting contraband and trafficking cocaine an update from roanoke tonight- the hotel roanoke and conference center is officially apart of the curio brand- a collection by hilton. it is the first of its kind in virginia and one of only

victims stabbed were counter- protesters.police say protesters attacked the group with a wooden plank and that fight sparked several others. two k-k-k members were also stomped by the crowd.
