a friday morning. is there a magic number when it comes to how often couples should be having sex. >> we're not experts but have one here. nbc medical contributor dr. natalie azar will break down the study. but first new research on children who are ill and their families. this is fascinating when i was reading that this morning. more than 80% of children with cancer have unsuspected genetic mutations. >> they tested all the these kids with pediatric cancer and found one in 10 also have germ line mutations which means they were inherited that could be a susceptibility to developing future cancer in the future and not just for the future but for potentially family members, too, and what they then did, they can and they will offer the screenings to sibling and family members of the children who have these particular mutation. it's quite fascinating, because basically it changing their level of care. >> right. >> if you know you have a

genetic mutation and for a particular type of cancer you can screen for it, and one of the examples that was given is that some of these kids, these small children, have the brca mutation which is a risk factor for breast and ovarian cancer and st. jude's will offer free testing to the siblings and parents of the children who had these. >> very, very interesting breakthrough. damaged vocal chords. 20 million people have damaged vocal chords. >> up until now the standard of care for this has been pretty disappointing for people if they have had cancer, part of it removed or damage to the vocal cords, you're kind . of out of luck and what they did is biomedically engineer vocal cord tissue using cells from both living and deceased owners and they were able to regrow the vocal cords and the ideaed is that they can implant them kind of like a vocal cord transplant
10:18 am
and using cells to actually grow new vocal cowards, actually fascinating. >> broken heart syndrome versus a heart attack. >> sure. >> we've been talking about the >> we talked about it a couple of months ago. it's very different than a real heart attack, a real heart attack we believe is mostly caused by a blockage in the artery, it basically cuts off the blood supply to a part of the heart, that part of the heart dies. broken heart syndrome is thought to be a stress response, chest pain, shortness of breath and congestive heart failure but the majority do recover with appropriate treatment. >> i have the breaking news that sex makes you happy. >> it is breaking news. >> how often? >> so obviously not the same number for everybody, but the researchers studied a whole gamut of people and what they found is that the magic numbers appears to be once a week. two important things, increasing it to daily did not increase happiness. >> good to know. >> yeah, pretty obvious.

scene and put a helicopter in the air, and a short time ago, we saw state troopers leaving the area of hamilton. we were told that they were leaving the area of rauli and they have a permitter set up there. nobody here is talking about whether this was just a toddler who walked away from her home in the middle of the night or perhaps something more. we know, according to sources, that the state police, the federal investigation unit is now involved in the investigation. they were involved early on, which we're told, according to sources, is standard protocol here, but again, the police at the headquarters are not talking to us right now. a news conference which was scheduled for 10:00 this morning, was abruptly canceled. and now the information is that the toddler has been found and her condition is unknown. so the investigation is continuing at the command post.
