violent erupts in broad daylight. the hunt is on for the criminals behind the shooting and stabbing in brookline. when you can see showers. wild weather storms in. a tornado touchdown tears through the south. tom brady sends a special message to patriots nation. and big worries for a new hampshire couple. man: i feel like i wasn't told the whole story. i feel like someone dropped the ball. when a local jewelry store tried to give hem the run around -- >> he asked us to solve it 7. breaking news first at 11:00, police investigating a murder inside a home. neighbors say they are simply shocked this is happening on their street. >> let's get right out to the scene. brandon is live with the latest. reporter: adam and kim, it is still a very active scene. state police along with norton police are here.

at this point, the only thing they'll confirm is that it's a homicide investigation. this is on home street in norton. investigators have been here since 7:30. we saw them take two young children out of the apartment. neighbors say the couple that lived there had two kids and saw a woman being taken out in an ambulance and that's what they're most concerned with tonight. woman: this place is surrounded with cruises, ambulances, fire trucks, there was commotion going on, people pulling up, crying, they took a woman out, she's in the back of an ambulance. they were doing cpr. and now they took her away really quick. they roped off everything and we haven't heard anymore since. reporter: well, right now we know bris tol county is handling this investigation.

is that it's a homicide investigation. and also breaking in norton tonight, state police investigating a head on crash. this happened on route 495 north just before 7:30. the driver of a pick up crossed the median of a highway and crashed into a car. state police are not releasing any information about what happened there or the conditions of the drivers. we're following the end to a long legal battle. the city of boston clearing the way for a resort casino to be built in everett. kim is in boston now with more details on the deal. reporter: well, adam, this fight has gone on for two years. the entire time the city of boston's mayor has been in office. tonight it's over. man: we both agreed to put the past in the past. reporter: a judge dismissed the lawsuit against the casino this

left so it folded. forward. reporter: steve plans to build a casino in everett. boston's mayor felt in order to get there, people will have to use boston's highways and so the city should get a piece of the action. win will pay $31 million over 15 years for community improvements like the arts, sports, and senior programming. an additional $25 million over ten years will go around infrastructure around sullivan square and $25 million a year for 15 years in boston businesses. man: boston is a big city, we have a lot of services and companies in our city. i don't see a problem with that. reporter: still, this move doesn't mean the mayor is warming up to a casino is next door. man: i'm not excited. i'm glad we're moving forward. there are other big issues we have to deal with.

this case have cost the city of boston $1.5 million. a portion of that, win will reimburse. and breaking news in brook line where police say they tracked down a car involved in the shooting and stabbing of three people. this violence broke out in broad daylight and three people are in the hospital right now with the people responsible on the run. reporter: well, kim, where i stand right now on st. paul's street is basically where all of this started. if you look behind me in the apartment right up the street here, 198 is where we've been watching investigators come and out, recently getting a search warrant to get inside. we're going on about 12 hours now since the initial call came in, while they're still being looking for two suspects. this is the car police found unoccupied tonight. a white ford focus they say was

shootings. investigators say it started at an apartment where there were five people involved. police just releasing the dispatch call made moments after the fight. woman: 198, the second floor, we're reporting a disturbance on the third floor. reporter: here, investigators found a man who had been shot and stabbed. then at 75 harvard street, calls came in about two people in the street. one man had been shot and the other stabbed and possibly shot. clothes and two cell phones left behind. man: i got two people stabbed. reporter: police still looking for the two other men who got away. now there were three schools that went on lockdown for a few hours this afternoon while all this unfolded. the children are okay. the three people hospitalized, we're told, are in stable condition.

police tracking down a virginia murder suspect today. officers found this man inside an apartment building this morning. williams shot himself in the head as police were going in to arrest him. he was wanted for strangling a man in virginia last week and possibly kidnapping that man's wife. right now he's in in critical condition. republican front runner donald trump on the attack after dropping out of tomorrow's debate. reporter: well, kim, i can tell you trump appeared on the fox network tonight. trump wasn't having it. it's just five days until the iowa caucus and donald trump is holding his ground promising to skip tomorrow's debate. man: i didn't like the fact that they set out press releasing playing games. reporter: tonight, even bill could not convince him about

be holding a fundraiser for veterans. a man held hostage in iran is speaking out tonight. he was held at an iranian prison for 40 days before he was released last week. he was participating in a language program before he was captured. tonight, he spoke about this terrifying ordeal. man: definitely the most dangerous two hours, probably, dangerous and difficult time for me. i was violently pulled out of my cell, put into the -- rush down to the basement. you're pulled into a series of you. i could not believe what i was looking at. >> he had no idea he was even being released until he was in an suv with diplomatic plates.

marathon bombing trial. previously private documents unsealed now and giving us a glimpse into his life immediately after the shootout. he was in critical condition. when interrogators showed up, he couldn't talk because his jaw was wired shut. instead, he answered questions by writing in a notebook. at one point he said "is my brother alive, i know you said he is, are you lying? is he alive" the defense said agents lied to him. documents show that he asked for an attorney and at one point, he wrote the word "lawyer" ten times and circled it. drivers speaking out after missing a deadly crash. a run away tire sailed over his pick up truck. it ended up slamming into another car and killed the

man: i just feel so bad for the victim and his family and friends. it just kinds of put into perspective how quickly life can be snatched from you. >> state police say the tire fell off that pick up truck going in the opposite direction but they're still investigating how it happened. the owner of a pizza shop accused of making an indecent properly to a former employee. place say the 65-year-old tried to recruit a 19-year-old girl into prostitution. the alleged victim says he offered her hundreds of dollars to have sex with married men. court paper work claim two other girls previously agreed to that offer. surveillance video shows a masked man jumping over a counter to rob a convenience store. she says she was wearing a thick coat, so she wasn't hurt by the taser so she decided to fight back against the thief.

three months later. man: the ring broke again. same spot. reporter: frustrated, chuck took his ring back and got it fixed again. but when it broke a third time this past november, check said he had enough. man: my father passed away six years ago and he gave me his wedding ring. reporter: chuck wanted them to set his diamonds in his father's ring. he said the manager agreed to do it. man: i was told it was going to be taken care of. the receipt showed zero cost. reporter: a couple of weeks ring. man: he explained to me, well, estimate. reporter: chuck says what he thought was a free service to fix his ongoing problem was now going to cost him about $200. frank paid the money because he wanted chuck to have his ring back in time for christmas but

they got a call of a woman who had been stabbed. she was pronounced dead at the hospital. she was 34 years old. immediately after that, they got a 911 call of a two car crash on 295 in norton. this estranged husband is 35 years old, apparently he crossed the median and hit the car head on and that sent a 30-year-old woman from rhode island to the hospital with serious injuries. again, this is the estranged husband who has been arrested and charged with the murder of his wife again at this apartment complex in norton. we also saw them take away two kids from this apartment earlier. neighbors say that is that couple's kids. that's the latest here in norton. big part of celtics success,
