police during an early morning case. police say the man had a gun pointed at officers. >> right now, lynn police are still on scene. you can look behind me, they're keeping this small area secure. earlier that is where a car covered with bullets holes sat close by on the street. >> there was blood everywhere, i saw his body on the ground. >> reporter: a lynn neighborhood in shock after police shoot a suspect police say was armed. >> i heard pop pop. next i heard what sound like a war. >> reporter: the district attorney said officers were executing five outstanding warrants friday morning. the suspect was wanted for violating multiple restraining orders. >> he had threatened his ex

repeatedly the last couple weeks. >> reporter: when officers arrived he threatened them as well. >> he answered saying he had a gun and he would kill them. >> reporter: he took off out a second floor window when he first pointed a gun at an officer. he ran and stopped a car on nichols avenue. >> he got the vehicle at gunpoint. the officers point a gun at him and the suspect did also. he was shot. he was taken to hospital where he was pro understanded no dead. >> the gun found on scene was allegedly the same gun pointed at police. also breaking tonight, one of the three inmates who escaped from a california prison is back in police custody. he actually turned himself in today.

out of jail. >> reporter: police arrested the inmate in santa anna, california, where officials said he made his escape. he backed down a person on the street telling her he wanted to turn himself in, he had been behind bars since december. he escaped from jail with two other inmates last week. they are trying to track down two other fugitives and earlier this week police arrested a woman who taught at the jail. she is excused of helping the three inmates escape by giving them maps and possibly even tools. they say one of the inmates was in her class and she somehow got involved with their plans to get out. they escaped by cutting through a steal wall, climbing through plumbing tunnels to the roof and are a spelling down with bed sheets. one of the escaped inmates back

police still searching for the other two at this time. also on 7, a teen ager who escaped from federal customer has been arrested. >> his escape setting off an all-out manhunt. it didn't take police long to get him back in custody. bring us up-to-date here, john. >> reporter: he was on the run for six hours, really keeping the city of somerville on edge, but police made quick work of it, arrested him and credited the community's immigrant community. >> reporter: they say the young man broke away and ran off from

police were transferring him to sheriff's department who were going to drive him away. they did. somerville police say their officers was not there when he made a run for it. >> we believe he was driven to another location by a friend. >> reporter: five foot 8 and wearing a t-shirt was ride there on -- right there a broadway. he hoped to catch a bus. somerville police came here and found him at the bus stop, still handcuffed. during his six hours on the run police asked local-day care careful. >> they notified us to stay indoors. >> reporter: the mayor sid he's not sure how an alleged dangerous gang guy could slip away from federal customer, but ...
