the night team with storm force coverage. the cape and the southshore, preparing for a blizzard warning. we're talking about strong winds and some serious snow. preparations already underway in scituate as coastal communities try to stay one step ahead of the storm. and in the city, there is a concern over the commute and a crackdown over those space savers. plus, the new hampshire primary just two deys can deys days away. the candidates in a mad dash for support and we have live team coverage of all of the candidates. the democrats scrambling to win votes. will it pay off on tuesday. the gop locked in a battle for new hampshire.

and an icy water rescue. firefighters braving the frigid waters. an adorable dog getting a second chance tonight. storm force coverage. get ready for round two, massachusetts. a blizzard warning just hours away along the cape and the southshore and we're looking at a winter weather warning for eastern massachusetts. tomorrow's storm will likely impact your commute. >> we're tracking school closings at the bottom of your screen and that's not all. the 19 has big story coverage for you tonight as new england braces for round two with more snow moving in and blanketing the state. >> that winter weather is not stopping the candidates. they are storming the granite state making their push with only one last day on the campaign trail. the night team all across new hampshire, bringing you the latest from all of the candidates as well as the

but first we're tracking a snowy start. the nasty nor'easter expected to dump a foot of snow in some areas. the night team has you covered. we begin with the time line of the track with jeremy. >> here is where we have the warn, the southshore, plymouth county. winter storm warning. wost snow begins between 4:00 and 7:00 a.m. close to the pike. the city of boston around 7. earlier on the south coast. there will be a burst of steady snow. around 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. until 3:00, 4:00 p.m. and then it wounds down for lighter snows. unlike the last storm, this storm will inact with an astronomical high tide, 11 11:00 a.m.

moderate pockets of flooding. the storm system to the south and it's spent the last 12 hours exploding. this is a powerhouse storm off north carolina. thankfully, it's not a direct hit on southern new england. it still looks like it will go out to sea. it will generate a band of heavy snow and intense wind for a time tomorrow afternoon. so your storm time tlip, again, 5:00 a.m. snowing on the southshore, south coast. it may start with rain on cape cod and then flip 0 snow. we're all in the snow. and then i think as we step through the evening commute, it's still snowing but it's very light and manage an snow. it's manageable snow. late tomorrow morning through middle part of the afternoon. when it's all said an done by tuesday morning, plan on 6, 10 inches including the city of boston. close to about 7, 8 in downtown boston.

worcester as well as beverly. down on the southshore, 10, 14 inches. north of town, again, southern new hampshire, 4 to 6 inches and for everyone it will be a lighter snow. we're not concerned about heavy, wet snow around the metro. the only exception would be down near the canal and on the cape. it still looks like a heavy snow down there. that might lead to another round of power outages tomorrow afternoon on cape cod. plymouth county, 0, 14. bree? one of the biggest differences between bri and our snow that we're -- between friday hand our snow tomorrow are the winds. a blizzard doesn't verify unless you have these either sustained off frequent gusts of 35 miles an hour or stronger that's blowing the snow around and that reduces visibility. it's not necessarily about the bulk of snow or the amount of snow. but you have to have the conditions for three hours or longer for it to be considered a blizzard or have a blizzard

the day tomorrow. again, travel for both the morning and evening commute will be a tough go. but it's in the height of the storm through the middle part of the day when things to to be rough. out of the northeast, gusts could -- we could see the ocean effects bands set up. that's an enhancement foreign the snowshowers. that's why we're expecting the bull's eye along the southshore. we're already gusting between 30, 40 miles per hour by the time we make it into the morning hours and then into the afternoon, 50 to even 60-mile-an-hour gusts expected for cape cod and also for the islands. and that coupled with strong tides could lead to some flooding issues. coastal flooding issues. warnings that we have in effect for right now. coastal flood advisory for the northshore and also new hampshire sea coast, coastal flood warning for the nantucket. high tide around 11:00 a.m. but the concern is two hours before that.

minutes. >> thank you. so two storms in less than a week. and massachusetts is ready. along the coast as well as on the roads. workers are making sure the storm moves in and out without any serious issues especially in scituate. that's where we find john with more on the storm preps on the john? >> reporter: well, nick, you can already feel these winds picking up. a preview of what people can expect tomorrow, plus a whole lot more snow. you like to kind of prepare for it but sometimes it sneaks up on you. the team at harbor house pizza in scituate is had at work. but with the blizzard warning bearing down, they are not sure if they will be open on monday. >> we play it by ear. we're a family business. we want to be here. >> reporter: besides a coastal sunset sunday evening, people living here know this is the calm before another winter storm. the forecast showing heavy snow

after some serious snow on friday, they are worried this winter might start looking a lot like last winter. >> last year we closed about seven days. the most in 32 years. >> reporter: are you ready for another round? >> no. the temperature has dropped. >> it's gonna be a nightmare. absolute nightmare. >> reporter: more snow on the way has many around the city saying into way. >> i guess we're do. haven't had much. >> reporter: the city already canceling schools for the second day in a row and the mayor's office telling 7 news no space savers will be allowed. but not everyone seems to be listening. just check out this toilet someone was excusing in east boston to try to save a space. the city will have 500 trucks out to pretreat the roads and have 40 tons of salt ready and waiting to be spread. most we met tonight say they've learned to deal with it. >> we're new england. we're in new england. this is the weather that we -- yesterday -- a day before, you would be in shorts. the day after, you would be in a parka. >> you have to deal with the snow. the snow is nice if you are skiing. but in the city it could be a problem. >> reporter: all right. >> but we can deal with it. deal with it.

tonight. kimberly? >> reporter: well, adam, bernie sanders is losing his voice and hillary clinton runs on duncan. they are exhausted but they understand the importance of these last few days. marco rubio hosting a super bowl party here in manchester and doubling down on the phrase he was criticized for he repeating no matter the question. >> i don't care how much it bothers people in the media or twitter, we're gonna keep saying this president is trying to change america. >> reporter: we found donald trump at at diner participating in the kind of new hampshire retail politics he's mostly avoided until now. trump found himself heckled by protesters in spots. this one hauled out wearing body pant and yelling trump's a racist. earlier on his way to an appearance on "meet the press." he talked about how he's feeling. >> i feel great. i love pham. new hampshire. we've had a special relation ship with the people in new hampshire before this started. i have been up here many times. >> reporter: the pun diplomats say it

was a good night not only chris christie but jeb bush said he was rooting for peyton manning but he would be rooting for tom brady. >> i love tom bray brady. >> if you don't have a seat belt, go out and get one. you will see america as fresh and new. >> reporter: ted cruz had two events, including a town hall. >> isn't it fantastic that we have such an array of young, talented dynamic republican candidates for president? >> reporter: at the airport diner in manchester, ben carson popped in. >> there's definitely moment. >> reporter: carly fiorina left the debate stage and live individual at abc. tried to buy time to speak her mind but couldn't do that, she said. >> so we put an ad on the super bowl instead. >> reporter: kf carly carly ad.

well. that one featured for the first time. george w. bush. back to you. >> all right. now on just one station, some candidates are getting ready to close the book on new hampshire while others are not giving up just yet. our political editor andy hiller joins us live in manchester. you are keeping an eye on the newest numbers in our tracking poll. >> reporter: that's absolutely correct, adam t and the . and the race looks over about bernie sanders sure to win it. but we could be in for new hampshire surprise. sanders is now beating hillary clinton 57% to 47% widening his lead over her after he picked up 2 points overnight and she lost one. undecided is down to 2%. a drop of 2 since yesterday. the tracking polls show sanders solidifying and widening his

stopping hillary clinton's burst of momentum. and it no longer looks shik she did catch she can catch him. >> bernie sanders leads by 11 among democratsed. 25 by independents and 9-10 over 40 voters continues. >> reporter: among the republicans, there was little movement. donald trump stayed in the top spot with 37% after picking up a point since yesterday. no change for marco rubio and his 14% keeps him in second. ted cruz at 13% maintained his support and remained in third, jeb bush gained no points but his 10% puts him in fourth because john kasich dropped a percentage point to 9 and fell to fifth. chris christie is at 4 tied with carly fiorina after she gained a point.

are still a good number of undecided voters left, 7%. 2% less than yesterday. the tracking poll shows trump maintaining his big lead and increasing the distance between himself and the rest of the field. it's now a battle for second and third place. marco rubio, ted cruz, jeb bush and john kasich all have a shot. >> trump has the strongest commitment among voters and rubio has the weakest commitment. this could be good news for governors john kasich and jeb bush. >> reporter: tomorrow morning, our final tracking poll. then on tuesday, new hampshire voters take over for, you can say it with me, the only poll that counts. live in new hampshire, i'm aldy hiller, 7 news night team. >> all right. so there are four republican polling so close. what's going to decide who comes in second to donald trump?

for his 8th birthday brandon wanted a fireman, policeman and solar to attend his party but he got much more. the leominster community threw him a big surprise birthday party. >> happy birthday. >> dozens attended the party, teachers, classmates and a special appearance from some u.s. members of the u.s. army, the police department and fire department. >> we all wanted to be part of it, you know, bring all of the trucks down. >> brandon has autism, a cause which leominster leaders feel passionately about. the campaign hopes to create a citywide inclusive environment for families struggling with cognitive and physical disabilities. >> i don't think i've ever seen him smile so much. anyone with a child on the spectrum, that's a big deal. >> brandon's family can't believe the outpouring of support. this is a birthday they will remember for years to come. >> this is awesome. i don't think we'll be able to

[laughter] >> that little boy's grandmother posted about his wish on facebook and the party planning took off once the mayor took off about it. firefighters racing in to save a dog that fell through thin ice. firefighters got the call earlier that a neighborhood dog was stock in that pond there. as soon as rescuers dove into the icy cold water and grabnd the dog, the dog didn't stick around and took off. >> dog was probably, i would say 10 feet from the shore and maybe 8 feet of water. we got to the shore. by that time, the dog was probably in shock. we do whatever we can to help the public. >> so animal control was out searching for the dog earlier hoping to find the animal after a cold and scary day. hopefully, they find him soon. snow on the way for tomorrow.
