5:23 pm
just under four inches of rainfall but if we stop august right now, we can close the becomes on the month and we would end up as the driest summer on record for boston. we're really close to that number one spot, so waiting to see what monday brings. where do we end up on that list? at least top five. think i you can on that. now showers have passed us for now. most of us at this point still some scattered showers, light in nature as you get down along cape cod and also near buzz are the areas bay. ma there but this is it for tonight we're seeing that wet weather working out chance to get any of that much needed rain has passed us in boston escaped without a drop of rain once again for us today. we're sitting at 90 degrees right now. this is the air temperature telling you how hot or how cold it is outside. this is the dew point temperature that tells you how much moisture is in the air. how muggy does it feel? we're still seeing very oppressive humidity as you get near the south coast, cape cod and islands with those dewpoints
5:24 pm
but dryer air is working in from the northwest. it just takes a while to get there. you couple the heat with the humidity and you get the real feel. this is what it feels like outside. unfortunately it feels like it's in the low to mid 90's for many of us as we head into this evening. if you have outdoor plans you might need a plan for that. drink plenty of water no. shoes nation. i know water is in those about the else. we will see plenty of sunshine working in for the weekend due to this cold front that fired up showers for us. high pressure takes the place of we've had with us and so sinking subsiding air keeps clouds and wet weather away from us and also brings in a dryer air mass for us so again dewpoints really this is the big headline getting through the next 24 hours. here is where we're at right now and we drop back down to nor comfortable levels for tomorrow and also for sunday as well. i know that says a bit humid but right around 60 degrees, that's just perfect. anything above that would start to feel muggy. this is your weekend forecast
5:25 pm
coastline. both days a little cooler on sunday and coolest along the coastline overnight tonight it takes a while for that humidity to work out. so it's still fairly mild and muggy into the overnight hours into tomorrow morning then tomorrow 80 to 87, certainly a summer stunner if you have plans to hit the beach, this would be a good time to do it because here is a look at that saturday sunday forecast for us and then pair that to the end of next week. i think certainly a cool down on the way for us, a significant cooln be an unsettled weekend next weekend so get outside and enjoy it while we have this dry weather with us. >> anchor: ahead ear on 7 news, what was lost has been found. a man reunited with some sunken tressure years after it was los. >> anchor: ahead on 7 news at 6:00, fresh off the olympics a special honor for needham's own
