see an suv beyond us and two or cars. those are three damaged cars lined up along com avenue. some of the damaged cars are unrecognizable. everybody talks about the frightening crash today. >> just seeing the whole thing happen is surreal, but i don't know -- yeah. >> reporter: chaos on com avenue just before noontime today when a man driving a red chevrolet collided with a 30-ton fire fruk, engine 7 with four firefighters on board was headed to a call when happened. >> he hit the fire truck, and the fire truck ended up swerving and hitting the cars on the side of the road right there. >> reporter: the impact sent the fire truck barreling off the road ending up on two wheels before touching off a chain-reaction crash with eight other parked cars. >> my first instinct was to run and make sure everybody else was okay. >> before the firefighters were taken to mass general, where

not life-threatening. >> it doesn't appear like anyone is in the wrong here, so i didn't want to mislead anybody. it doesn't appear that way. again, just thankfully no one was seriously injured. >> through the afternoon a team of tow truck operators worked to peel away the twisted wresage and remove the mess while an accident reconstruction teechl was busy to figure out what led to the terrifying moments. >> our guys are well trained, so i just hope that, you know, they're all safe. the firefighters are all safe. >> reporter: there is a camera at this intersection here at com avenue and dartmouth streets. it would appear that this whole incident was caught on camera. again, that is something that boston police accident reconstruction investigators are still working on right now. the encouraging news at this hour, two of those four boston firefighters have been released from the hospital. the driver that was involved in

well right now. we're live in the back bay tonight, steve cooper, 7 news. >> as you can imagine, all of this creating a scary scene for team there when the crash happened. we continue with our 7's alex depraud doe with more from witnesses this evening. alex. >> reporter: adam, com avenue and the streets surrounds it is packed with people day and night. luckily no one here on the sidewalk was injured, but people in the nearby buildings and also work in them came out the fire truck with its lights and sirens on raced down the street. >> i saw the fire engine coming down com avenue. >> frank who lives nearby looked out his window. >> we heard this kind of lot of -- not an explosion but a loud bang, and we looked out the window and the fire truck was up where it's at right now. >> the fire truck ended up striking a row of parked cars. by a stroke of luck no one was

madison was walking to work. >> i just heard like a crunch as i was walking into the office, and there was nothing really. so we walked in. we were looking out the window, and there was like probably six ambulances, five fire trucks. the cops were right on the scene right after the crash. i heard the cops. >> i tree was hit. >> i saw the tree falling and the impact. that's all i saw. >> the impact drew people into the street. joe quinn, a firefighter in everett, says he went to police were on scene in minutes. >> everybody was in the truck, and everybody was -- the firefighters looked okay. >> that really is the lucky thing that no one here along the sidewalks along com avenue and the other streets was injured in all of this. we're live in boston, 7 news. we're following breaking news out of foxborough, the

zagarella of tuewksbury bragged about beating a boy who place say bumped into him during a party on friday night. police say several teenagers including the victim were drinking and intoxicated behind this barn whether it happened. >> the victim stomach bemed into the defendant by accident, and the defendant responded by picking him up, turning him up and slamming his head down onto a concrete floor, which caused grievous injury to him. >> reporter: authorities say the died from grain injuries and assault and battery charges are expected to be upgraded. his defense attorney says the facts are still unclear. >> there was no one being thrown to the ground. there was a push. there is discussion among individuals that other people at the party were also fighting with the victim and had him down to the ground at some point kicking him in the head.

and beaten by a man wearing a full halloween costume. this all happening a little bit after midnight on saturday night. the surveillance video taken from the cedar grove station, you can see that suspect running from the area. he's in a michael myers halloween mask, a full halloween costume, in fact. he told the trolley operator he didn't have enough money for the fare and pushed that employee in the face, pulled him from the trolley, and continued to beat that trolley oto ground. the employee who has been with the mbta for a year and a half was taken to the hospital early sunday morning but was released sunday afternoon without serious injuries. at this point the search is still on for that suspect in that case. the difficult part, even though they have surveillance video of the suspect, because he's in full halloween costume, they have a difficult time identifying him. that's the latest live from dorchester, tim caputo, 7 news.

all weekend. they're demolishing toll booths across the state. the crews continue the work there. a lot of crumbled up concrete and other stuff there. brandon ganoe live. the big concern was the morning commute. so how was it earlier? >> better than expected would be an understatement. remember all weekend state leaders were saying traffic was like during a snowstorm twice a dame. it was nothing like that. it was light, traffic with light delays and i'll show you where. the stra toll booths have been demolished so crews are way ahead of schedule. this is the first weekday we're told demolition took place during the commute and traffic was smooth. in fact, state leaders say transcription was 6% to 10% lighter meaning they heeded the warnings or changed the commute. over the next few weeks they tear down the center booths as the pike goes to all electronic

ensure the cooler air in here, but it adds a chill to the trick-or-treating forecast. i plan for the low to mid-40s by 7:00 p.m. with temperatures falling back into the upper 30s by about 9:00 p.m. a coat is necessary for that trick-or-treating trip tonight. mostly clear, chilly overnight, light wind allows for temperatures to fall into the mid to upper 20s for some of the typically cool spots for tomorrow morning, and then tomorrow while it is a bit milder than today, it's fall day for us with mostly sunny skies. we don't get the boost of temperatures until the middle of the week. it looks like wednesday and thursday isreal mild for us. this puts it in perspective for you. normal high wrapping up october, 57 degrees and we're in the mid to upper 60s. i wouldn't even put it out of the realm of possible that some places reach that 70-degree mark as we get into the middle of the
