again. it's been an emotional day of testimony in the trial of a des moines man charged in a deadly, high-speed crash. 24-year-old troy mure junior is on trial for the death of 22 year old scalicity perez boyd last november. accident investigators put his speed at more than 80 miles an hour at the time of the crash. mure claims the two were being chased by a silver cadillac...with at least one armed man inside.... when the driver tapped his bumper...he lost control and slammed into a telephone poll. the state says there was no evidence that mure was hit from behind. and the impact of the crash split the car in two...ejecting boyd. police say even if she was wearing a seat belt, it wouldn't have made a difference. mure is facing one count of vehicular homicide. a judge, not a jury, is hearing his case. testimony continues in the trial of a boone man accused of murdering his wife... alexander fazzino is facing

he's accused of killing his wife, emily, back in 20-12. monday the defense began its case.... theyre trying to prove emily accidentally drowned in a bathtub because of a prescription drug addiction. her mother-in-law testified that she saw emily stumble, stagger, and slur her words multiple times in the last year of her life. "i was very concerned, it was very upsetting. i was upset for her, i was upset for the kids, i was upset for my son. now at that time and all times, you loved emily as a daughter. i loved her, i loved her, and i thought we had a very close relationship." fazzinos former house keeper also testified... she pled the fifth when asked if she sold emily drugs. the trial continues today in decorah. today lawmakers are trying to strengthen iowa's animal abuse laws..

animal abuse rates are on the rise in iowa...so he championed a law to come down harder on those who do it. under the bill...anyone accused with animal abuse could be charged with a felony. right now it's an aggravated misdemeanor. the bill also requires the department of human services to do a wellness check if the abuse happens in front of a child. yesterday the bill passed the senate and today it heads to the house. currently....iowa's animal abuse laws are considered to be among the softest in the nation by animal welfare advocates. students from across the state will put their sauteing skills to the test today... a top chef style cooking competition has 17 teams of aspiring chefs facing off for an opportunity to compete at nationals. while many will be focused on winning today, the bigger prize may be a career. dozens of local restaurants will be on hand to scout some potential new talent. the event runs at the iowa event center until 2...

families expecting babies mark the due date on the calendar for months. but when the newborn has health challenges, there can be a delay in taking the baby home... new cameras in one indianapolis hospital are helping families get through the stressful time with less worry. anne marie tiernon reports. it's so gratifying to see little graham's progress. "he looks so good. his color is really good today." he's 7 weeks old and at just over 3 pounds...nearly triple in size compared to his birth weight. "you came early" graham is one of the tiniest preemies at st vincent women's nicu. "well, i just can't wait for him to get home" back home ...an hour and half drive from the nicu...graham has three older siblings. "they just drop us off at school go up there and see him and then come back and pick us up and every weekend we always go over there" but that distance... and time between visits is passing with less worry... because now they can log on any time any day...and watch a live

right above graham's bed. "i see him waving at me... ha ha, he's saying take me home "both parents work... the ag committee was pushing for the legislation.. he showed a letter supporting the chairman's mark.. of six hundred 52 organizations representing parts of the whole food chain.
