we're following a developing story on wall street where the market dropped hundreds of points to start the day. right now, the dow jones is down about 350 points. bank stocks were hit hard this morning as investors worried that interest would remain low. itigroup and bank of america both dropped 5 percent. we are continuing to follow the market and will bring you the latest this afternoon starting on the news at four. this comes amid news that the u-s unemployment rate fell more than anticipated last week. new claims for unemployment fell by about 16-thousand, according to the labor department. experts say the number indicates the labor market is still solid even with slowing economic growth and a dip in the market. the drop in unemployment last week puts claims near their post-recession lows and points to very low layoffs. the number of people receiving benefits is down 4-point-6 percent from a year ago. a mexican governor says 52 inmates were killed and 12 injured in a brutal fight between two rival factions today at a prison in

officials say the fight involved a faction led by a member of the infamous zetas drug cartel. local media says relatives of prisoners had heard gunshots in the early hours and that a fire had broken out. the state government, there, says the situation had been brought under control. this comes as pope francis is set to start his first papal visit to mexico tomorrow. the occupation of a national wildlife refuge near burns oregon could be coming to an end. after 41 days the last four remaining armed occupiers of the malhuer national refuge say they intend to turn themselves in today. the final occupiers said during a live stream conference call last night that they were prepared to leave. nevada lawmaker michelle fiori, evangelist franklin graham and ammon bundy's lawyers are expected to meet the protesters at an f-b-i check point where the occupiers will turn themselves in. tensions were high last night after federal agents surrounded the occupiers campsite. today we are working to get the names of two people arrested during a traffic stop leading u-s-c police to a

a school spokesman says the driver was pulled over last night near the corner of heyward and sumter streets. multiple agencies were called to the scene including a hazmat team, sled and drug enforcement agents. the driver and a passenger were charged with manufacturing meth. highway patrol is investigating after a person was hit and killed while trying to cross a highway in orangeburg county. it happened just after 7 last night. troopers say the driver of an suv was heading north on u-s 301 when she hit a person crossing the driver was not hurt. the aiken county sheriff's office is investigating after a county employee found their vehicle with bullet holes in it. investigators say an ems worker discovered the holes during a shift change at substation 3 -- which is on the georgia side of aiken county. they believe it happened sometime overnight from tuesday into wednesday morning. it's unclear if the act was random or targeted. if you have information that could help investigators, contact the aiken county

kershaw county investigators have arrested a camden man suspected of dealing heroin after an undercover operation. 32-year-old ronald boone has been charged with distribution and trafficking heroin. narcotics investigators say they made a controlled purchase of heroin from boone last month. this month, they say he received a large shipment of heroin. boone is being held at the kershaw county detention center on 200-thousand dollars bond. tonight -- some parents in kershaw county will meet with a school board member to discuss the consolidation plan for mt. pisgah and bethune elementary schools. a parent requested board member ron blackmon to do a q&a session -- and he agreed. blackmon will respond to questions that have already been submitted. the meeting is at 6:30 at north central high school's auditorium. richland county leaders are looking to you for input on a greenway section that would be built along gills creek. the proposed project consists of 4-miles of greenway and a concrete sidewalk from kilbourne to bluff roads. the trail is outlined in red on this map. leaders want the design

"you have to kind of look at your life overall and figure out 'okay, whwh are my goals in life?' and i think the more specific we can be with our goals we can see 'okay, how are my behaviors now helping me get to that goal?'" breaking old habits isn't always easy. certified profile coach, samantha carlson, says if you want to change your bad habit, you have to start small. "if you can have those small victories in between that builds your self- confidence and that makes you believe 'okay, i can go to that next step. once you've achieved that one 'all right, let's go to that next step' versus just going to that end goal and then being discouraged right away and just wanting to quit altogether." when you set a goal, carlson encourages being realistic about the time-line you give
