republican presidential candidates are in greenville for the south carolina faith and family presidential forum. it just started on the campus of university. it goes until 5:30 this afternoon. ted cruz, marco rubio, jeb bush and ben carson are all scheduled to be there. attorney general alan wilson will be one of the moderators. the event is free. our senior reporter jack kuenzie is at the forum and will have live coverage on our later newscasts. on the democratic side, hillary clinton will campaign in the palmetto state this afternoon. she'll be in bamberg county to talk about in south carolina. her campaign is holding a town hall in denmark at denmark-olar elementary school. doors open at 1:30 and the event starts at 3. people voting absentee in richland county for the upcoming first in the south primaries have a three-hour timeframe to do so this weekend. the voter registration and elections office will be open tomorrow from 9 a-m until noon. absentee voters can head to 2020 hampton street to cast their ballots for republican and

"everybody should have valentines for vets because it gets the kids involved to listen to all the veterans and it makes kids open up their heart to people. it's very hard for people to actually listen to people now but when you can hear the truth, it's just amazing." students had the chance to speak with more than 46 veterans. they call the event a moving experience. coming up on the news at noon.. an injury in a galaxy far, far broke his leg filming the latest star wars movie. plus... americcarolina ahead of the state's presidential primary. in columbia this morning, msnbc quizzed wis' charles molineaux on the campaign as we're seeing it. we have been seeing news crews from the national media at plenty of events and chris jansing and i sat down in the liberty taproom in the vista. here in south carolina, we've seen a lot of what the national media have been noticing, the few really big events for donald trump, bernie sanders and hillary clinton contrasted with the numerous smaller events for the other candidates like the rally in columbia for jeb bush we went to last night. but south carolina also has the very strong

the republicans are fighting and ted cruz in particular. and the folks at msnbc are keeping a close eye on palmetto state black voters who have clearly been strong supporters of hillary clinton as we've seen at numerous events, but who bernie sanders has been vigourously trying to that's one area where older more inclined to stick with hillary and younger ones to embrace bernie. one big question we haven't been able to answer is whether those impressive crowds of enthusiastic supporters we keep seeing at those marquee trump events for the big show will actually turn into voters who come to the

a british production company involved in the making of the latest star wars movie will face criminal charges over an incident where harrison ford broke his leg during filming. n-b-cs bill neely reports. 1:17-1:35 harrison ford's character han solo expects trouble in star wars but the actor didn't expect to be hit by the door of his spaceship. two years ago at britain's pinewood studios, he was filming on the set of the falcon when he was hit by a heavy, hydraulic metal door. he broke his leg. he had to be airlifted to hospital and spent weeks in a wheelchair and on crutches. now britain's main safety body says that was so serious, it's prosecuting the production company foodles, for failing to manage risk on the set. "by law", it says, "employers must take reasonable steps to protect workers- this is as true on a film set as a factory floor". the star wars production company says "cast and crew safety is always a top priority... we are

molly: you don't own a bourbon distillery in louisville. joe: we own an american brandy distillery in louisville, ky. molly: i actually don't know what brandy is, and how it's made. joe: ok, you're not alone, you're not alone. here is the cheat sheet; so whisky is distilled beer and brandy is distilled wine. molly: how long does the whole process take to finish? joe: probably about 8 hours. molly: what are all the things people get to see on the tours here? joe: well, you obviously can see the process of distillation, and then they can walk down into the gallery where we have an exhibition on the art of rock, of rock and roll. with original photography from the first photographer from rolling stone magazine, baron wolman, then you get up on the roof where you can taste some delicious american brandy. joe: now for what's called the copper and kings express.

look for salvation from the 65 per cent of south carolina gop voters who describe themselves as evangelical or born-again. most significantly for democrats clinton and sanders---an african- american constituency that generated 56 per cent of the party's primary turnout in 2008. after barely winning iowa and her crushing defeat in new hampshire, secretary clinton and her supporters have a desperate mission to motivate black voters here or her campaign may not be able to recover. since 1980, south carolina has been a spot- on predictor of the eventual republican nominee---with one glaring exception. in 2012, gop voters chose newt gingrich over mitt romney, an outcome that may have had more to do with a breakout debate performance than a sudden desire by the party overall to buy into the former house speaker's agenda. still, some might see the gingrich win as another example of south carolina

conventional political wisdom. this is after all, a state with a lengthy history of contrarian views. the state where the first shots were fired at fort sumter and a place where a rebel banner went up at the state house in 1961 and stayed there until just last summer. we are now in a presidential election cycle that clearly celebrates outsiders and rule- breakers. we will find out this month whether this state will help grow their campaigns. or if voters will turn away from the lure of revolutionary and radical change---and back toward the mainstream. that's my take, what's yours? columbia's new baseball team is looking for
