all over the landover area. police officers have been going up and down martin luther king boulevard and 202 when it became obvious that they were on to someone. we heard that one suspect is now in custody. what we know is one police officer has been shot, is in critical condition. is in hearing one suspect custody. this may still be an active situation in terms of a shooter. still at large. we don't know if all of the suspects that police are looking for are in custody. i want to tell you that sources close to my colleague tell me that three others were shot in addition to that police officer and the circumstances involving unclear at this point. it does not appear to be an attack on an -- on

situation and we are learning a lot of new information. what we know for sure is a police officer is in critical condition and one suspect is in custody but this entire area is still an active scene. if you live in this area of landover, you're asked to stay in place, inside your home. we don't know if all of the suspects are in custody. just pastan ambulance behind you over your shoulder. we can tell this is an ongoing, active situation. we also have a reporter in prince george's at the hospital. get anr: we expect to update shortly. we have been told the stay here in front of the promise center and someone will be out to talk to a shortly. we don't know anything new. we know the officer was brought here in critical condition. we can tell you that there has been

outside the hospital. both playing close and uniformed officers. waiting for word. about 20 minutes or so, a number of officers were taken inside the hospital. we don't know if there is a briefing or something else going on. evidence folks going in with cameras and the kinds of bags you use to collect evidence. a very active part of the investigation is going on here. we are for information on the condition of the officer. we expect to get that here in front of the promise center and we will bring that to you live as and as we get that. will check back in with you soon. our triple team coverage continues. brad bell is joining us on the newsline. what are your sources telling you about this shooting? cheryl told us it happened inside the police station. brad:

police are still trying to figure out exactly what is going on. first and foremost, the condition of the officer. it is not good. we understand it is a young officer who is in grave condition that could have been shot in the chest. it turned into a shooter. what we understand, and this is all subject to change because lease themselves are still trying to figure out what happened. we understand that at least two, and possibly three suspects showed up at the district three station on barlow road and they opened fire. there are different accounts as to whether one of the suspects made it into the building or if they were kept outside. thate sources telling me they made it inside the building, firing rounds. at this moment, right now, prince george's county swat team members are in those police buildings trying to clear them to make sure t

ongoing danger. it is still a very active scene. cheryl is not able to see it from her location and that is the reason why. police do not know exactly how many shooters their work. i am hearing -- how many shooters there were. we are also hearing different information about their weaponry. a number ofm sources that say they were heavily armed and also had some form of protective gear. this was an ambush. suggested itcation was something else but now it appears to be an ambush targeting that police station. as for the number of people head, we don't know at this point. the most

serious injury was suffered by the young police officer that it is possible as well that one of the suspects may as well be injured. i have heard from sources that a suspect essentially turned himself in at a popeye's restaurant about a half-mile or maybe a mile or so from police headquarters. the bottom line now is that we know of at least one officer who has been hit, very gravely wounded in the hunt for additional suspects is ongoing. it is possible that a second serious injury was suffered by the young police officer that it is possible as well that one of thesuspect is . it is a very fluid situation. it is not that we don't have the information to share, it is that the police are still kind of piece together what happened in this very chaotic scene. i am heading there now myself. when we get additional information, we will certainly bring it to you. kimberly: you have been inside this holy station at palme
