bell is live with the story. what have you found out? brad: a quick update. she is not in custody. she was released on bond, essentially bailed out today. that is beatrice manning we are talking about. get to the story and show you her picture. this is beatrice manning. a woman for 14 years ran a daycare center she called little giggles. little giggles she called it and ran it out of her home in oxon hill. caring for up to four or five young children at a time. we are told that she had a great reputation but that back on december 2, something happened with as you said 9-month-old savannah wright. the girl was dropped off at 7:00 a.m. at 11:00 a.m., miss manning alleged to call 911 saying the child was unresponsive. by 5:00 p.m. that night, doctors diagnosed severe brain damage and called detectives. she died two days later. this comes out of the blue to manning's neighbors and they are tonight standing by her.

i don't have anything negative to say about her. brad: well, we heard that from more than one person. we tried to reach out to savannah wright's parents today. we have had no luck. when we come back at 5:00, you will hear the police version of events. a tough story. still trying to figure out what went on in that house. sources telling us it was something akin to a shaken baby injury. we'll have more as we said coming up at 5:00. prince george's county police headquarters, brad bell, abc7 news. kimberly: virginia is cracking down on illegal daycare operators after a string of deaths in that state. governor terry mcauliffe signing a bill to make it a felony if a child is hurt or killed in a daycare that is not properly licensed. violators would spend up to ten years in prison. jonathan: a story developing in northeast washington. a teen was stabbed a short walking distance from a metro station. this is happening in

block of rhode island avenue right by the rhode island avenue metro station. police are there investigating as we speak. our jeff goldberg is also there. what can you tell us? what happened out there? jeff: well, we can tell you right now that a 13-year-old male is in the hospital recovering with nine life -- with non-life threatening injuries as a result of what happened. this happened outside the bus station at the rhode island avenue metro. we're told a group of teens. the police officer told the group to disburse. there was a fight going on. the fight spilled here to washington place northeast by the home depot, near the home depot. behind the jersey mike's sub shop and behind the chipotle. that is where police say the group spilled over into. now according to m.p.d., at some point either by the metro station or down the street that 13-year-old male was stabbed in the back. he was conscious and breathing when he was transported to children's hospital at 1:15, 1:30 this afternoon. m.p.d. w
