tonight metro officials insist the system is safe to ride. leon: d.c. bureau chief sam ford joins us live with what the officials are saying. a tough sell. sam: the officials were insisting that the metro system is safe. as safe as they can be. they believe that. they also have charging documents with we just got here out of the d.c. superior court reveal the two young men in this case had ongoing feud at social media and a feud that went in the deanwood metro station. ending up with one of them dead. the or charged with second-degree murder. the dead boy was 15-year-old john rufus evans iii. the 18-year-old who police say killed him is javonte hall. according to charging documents they rode in to the deanwood metro station on the same train and made threatening gestures t

they both got off at deanwood and hall was ahead when evans ran up to him and threw a punch. when hall punched back he had a knife in his hand the document said and cut evans' throat. the dead boy's mother today. >> but i do remember hearing this boy's name about him and his friends throwing stuff at my daughter at the train station two weeks ago. i'm thinking they are children. they get past stuff like that. i didn't think my child would lose his life behind it. sam: the charging documents say that police were looking at surveillance video and noticed that another young male was videotaping the whole thing. they said by the time they got ahold of the phone, it had been erased.

at the second day of protests and arrests on capitol hill. police arrested nearly a hundred people in a sit-in on the east front step of the capitol. protests not permitted that close to the structure. protesters are demanding campaign finance reform to eliminate influence of money and politics. they arrested 400 protesters yesterday. they are organizing the protests democracy spring. maureen: we are learning more about the sheriff charged with domestic violence. anne arundel county sheriff ron batemen arrested sunday night for allegedly assaulting his wife. charging documents say batemen. >> i never assaulted elsie. things were said to the police in high emotion, high stress and anger that were blown out of proportion and not true. maureen: charging documents say batemen threw his wife in a wall and hit her in the back of her head. he denies the claims and says his wife recanted her story. right now batemen's police pors

the group brought a petition to keep guns off college campuses. leon: covering metro tonight. two stations could soon have new names. metro's board will vote on thursday about whether to add national mall to the name of smithsonian station. the board will decide whether to add kennedy center to the foggy bottom george washington university stop. metro survey found that more than half the riders support changing the name of the smithsonian station but only a quarter think it's a good idea to change the name at goggy bottom. exciting day for agenda fans today -- "jeopardy" fans today. they hosted the teen tournament today. the fans got to get behind the scene look at clues and contestants and a chance to interact with the host alex trebek. suzanne kennedy reports. suzanne: two days of the "jeopardy" teen tournament are shot on the stage at d.a.r. constitution hall. 15 teenagers from all across the country ages 14 to 17 will gather on this stage to compete before
