being honored and remembered today. good morning. it is 5:30 on your tuesday. i'm bridgett ellison. >> i'm david hall. joining us this tuesday morning, we have amy and troy. >> good morning. a warm day. if you thought today was warm, hold on. we'll talk about a few warm days. >> unfortunately, we are starting the day off with a big issue. we have a road closure with a fatal overnight accident. as a result, we are in the investigation stage. we have the southbound lanes of i-95 closed in melbourne, right by pineda causeway. what they are doing, they are detour you off. follow that posted detour. it will be easy to follow. allowing a couple of minutes to travel safely or on time. as soon as you get improvement, i'll let you know. the benefit of being early, no delays despite the fact that we have to stick to that detour for the time being.

each other like, did that just happen? >> katie said the guy did not waste time and ran into the parking lot. a north carolina tag. >> how would you feel to have your gill go through that to know you worked so hard? you are scum and you are nasty. >> detectives say even though the cookie thief got away, wal-mart surveillance cameras caught him. they say he was with a woman and a small child and just moments before the money box was stolen, the three walked together to the car. that's when the man came back to grab the cash. >> to know she was out there trying to sell cookies. he was like, the poor thing. we work all day, to have your paycheck taken like that, it is discourage sdmrg katie took to facebook to encourage the girl and hopefully help find this cookie thief. >> that guy wanted the money. whether the girl was there or an adult was there, he was going to go for it. >> once again, take a look, this is a car that deputies say he

it was a gray honda. once again, if you have information about this guy, you are urged to contact deputies. >> johnny, thank you. >> funeral services set for later this morning for the virginia police officer and local grant killed on duty on her first night on the job. police in formation with the hearst. she was shot while responding to a domestic violence call. it happened a day after she was sworn in. she was killed and two other officers and two others hurt. a man has allegedly admitted to the crime. he remains in jail without bond. >> warned to be on the lookout for trouble after a man was shot and killed. the victim was found saturday at the lotus landing complex off state road 434. police still won't tell us the

complex sent out a notice to renters saying the victim didn't even live there. apartment management is asking anyone who sees anything suspicious to call police and keep your doors and windows locked. >> a new development in the mystery surrounding a man murdered outside a lake county publix as his family pleads for help to get results and find their son's killer. >> he is a good kid. he just want closure. he didn't deserve what happened. we just want some closure. >> relatives of andrew jones made that plea during a press conference. the 21-year-old was found shot and killed in the parking lot of the supermarket last month. over the weekend, investigators say they found jones' car burned out, covered in graffiti in oakland. they are hoping that car will give them some clues. if you have information about the crime, call clermont police. >> this morning, firefighters in volusia county are watching for flare-ups after one brush fire

>> yes, that fire burned more than 20 acres last night near the tully rv park in oak hill. as you can see in the video from sky 6, those flames got close to several homes and other buildings. the cause of the fire is still being investigated. >> let's move to lake county. one person recovering from injuries after a mobile home caught on fire. this is a picture of the damage in lake county firefighters released this to us. the fire happened on circle drive. this was yesterday. when crewed arrived at the scene, the fire ripped through half of the home. crews say it appeared to have happened in the living room. that person is expected to be ok. >> launching a space x rocket, they are hoping the fourth time will be a charm after the last three attempts were scrubbed. sunday the countdown was stopped with a second to go after

reportedly kidnapped his kids and their mother. that's when he led police on a suit that spanned several cities. it ended when the battery on the man's vehicle died. after hours of holding the police at bay, he got out with his child in his arms. he gave up and started running towards the woods. police say the man was able to get away. >> classes are cancelled in one ohio school district after police say a 14-year-old boy pulls out a gun and opens fire. investigators say two students were hit by bullets, another two were hit while trying to get away. the gunman was taken into custody a short distance from the school after dropping the weapon and running off. the teen told him there was a motive to the shooting. they haven't released details on that yet. school officials say none of the injuries to the four students are life threatening. >> the woman accused of abducting an infant and leaving the girl alone in her orange

ordered to undergo a health evaluation. stephanie appeared in court for the first time since her arrest. detectives say augustine and a cousin forced their way into a cousin's home and took the 2-month-old baby at gun point. troopers released this video of augustine and the teen being pulled over and arrested. this was hours after that abduction. the two were on their way back after they left the baby alone at the village spring apartments. fortunately, that baby is ok. augustine is facing life in prison. >> law enforcement will be out in full force the next several days, looking for drivers not wearing seat belts. it is part of the national safety campaign. it starts today and runs through march 14. during that time, deputies, police and troopers will be stationed at locations around the area looking for people not wearing seat belts or kids not

when you look at the atmosphere, you have layers. when you have sinking air, you have few clouds and certainly no rain in the forecast. that's the story for today and the next few days. 80 will be the high in ocala and the villages as well as daytona beach. up to 82 in sanford. 81 in orlando. up to 81 tomorrow and close to it on thursday with a high of 77. we stay in the 70's through the end of the week. 78 on friday. a weak front moves in. it will cool us down by a couple of degrees. but not bring much in the way of moisture. a few additional clouds but no rain in the forecast. we have taken that rain chance out altogether. 75 on saturday. the dry conditions will stick around. let's check on the roads. what the red graphic means is traffic issues. >> we have an issue. here's what is going on this morning. there is a deadly overnight
