again. >> we do, lynna. according to cleveland.com. it's the 24th, here we are. the negotiations won't start until the 29th. if you remember, cleveland teachers gave the deadline of september 21st at 6:00 p.m. that's when you say they will strike. that only gives both sides three days to negotiate. when you really think about it, though, these sides say that they do plan to get something done. the question is when. according to cleveland.com, they're going to be settling down with let's show you an overall look at what teachers are facing. according to a national study. according to the wall street journal. public school too muchers last year made 17% less in weekly wages and other workers with similar education levels and years of experience. that's compared with just 4% back in 1996. but it is showing teachers have better benefits.

teachers is how they're evaluated. they're evaluated based on the student test scores. cleveland teachers are basically saying that's unfair to them. so, again, they're going to have three days to negotiate before that possible strike. that strike deadline, of course, lynna, that's something we can follow. >> thank you so much, tiffany. deputies are still searching for one of two escaped inmates that ran from a jail last week. the year-old jason shockley is still at large after escaping from glenwood jail. the inmates were helping with carrying trays to a van in the jail parking lot when they just dropped them and ran. shockley has been on the run since friday. a sandusky county sheriff will face a judge this morning. sheriff kyle overmeyer was indicted on 42 charges.

charges include tampering with records, deception to obtain a dangerous drug and theft in office. the charges come after an investigation following complaints by local police chief chiefs in sandusky county. they say overmeyer was asking strangely at drop box. overmeyer deceived doctors and pharmacists to get pain medication. new efforts this morning to find a man at a loraine drive-through. the victim was killed at the drive-through of a taco bell. people in northeast ohio are lending a helping hand.

i did do some drive times for you in that area that encompassed 77 between 62 and 30. and this is not working -- i guess i didn't say that correctly, but it was a 4- minute commute. so we're not seeing big delays in this area. if you travel in that area, you give yourself extra time. lynna, back to you. >> all right. good to know. now that the school year has started. fall sports, after school meetings, and extracurricular activities, it makes life more complicated. maureen kyle has ideas that may help you. if you work 9:00 to 5:00, and school lets out at 3:00 and soccer starts at 4:00, you're probably one of the many parents trying to figure -- parents trying to figure out how to do it all. it's not only stressing parents out, but it's putting their jobs at risk.

a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck central italy early this morning. at least 21 people have been killed. that number has opinion fluctuating. it is expected to go up. the quake struck just after 3:30 a.m. local time. the central italian town is among the hardest hit. it was even felt as far away as rome. emergency crews are ruin victims. in florida, there's new concern that the zika virus outbreak may have spread hundreds of miles from miami to the tampa area. governor rick scott told reporters that the person who has the virus did not travel out of the country and has not been to the miami area. so, now, state officials are working to find out where the person contracted the disease. governor scott says there are now 42 case of nontravel

teacher -- and their teachers trying to avoid the strike. here are today's top stories. a chardon man plead guilty back in march. he had been slated to go to trial next month for the death of two housekeepers at hamlet village. he could now spend 66 years to life in prison. tiffany? >> reporter: well, lynna, we're counting down the days to a possible teacher strike here cleveland. 7 days, just over 7 days away. now, we know both the teachers and the district, they're going to be going back to the negotiating table. according to cleveland.com, that's happening on monday. the thing is, that is just a few days before the teachers have set a deadline for them to strike. they say they will strike if they have to. they will sit down with a mediator. teachers went through a strike
