a federal judge ordered a one day extension for voter registration in florida. voters now have until 5 p.m. today. democrats asked for more time because of hurricane matthew. many people were displaced and postal services were suspended. florida governor rick scott originally denied the request and a hearing is set for today to consider an even longer extension. people who live in north carolina are still feeling the effects of hurricane matthew. officials are warning the week goes on. more than 2,000 people have been rescued since matthew hit over the weekend. miles of highway are still closed because of the flooding. hundreds of thousands of people in north carolina don't have four and it's estimated -- they don't have power and it is estimated it could take until sunday to get everyone restored. local man was killed helping with the hurricane cleanup efforts in florida. steve barna from garrettville

come. >> yeah. charlie is working on his basic obedience laying the foundation for a service dog for a veteran similar to radar and he is 15 weeks right now and tripled in size since he started. and he is just loving life and loves to be here every day. >> you know olivia in just a handful of weeks radar has gone from going rambunctious in the studio to having laser focus. it's amazing so what kind of progress are you ex charlie what's the next step for charlie? >> next step for charlie is learning three foundation service dog task we can combine and expand to do anything theveteran needs so he will learn how to retrievepush and tug and then order pizza that's the fourth one. >> okay. >> and charlie the really cool things about charlie is he is a

personality when he is in play mode but when he is in work mode he is very focused just like radar and makes wonderful icon tact and is able to -- eye contact and is able to handle the distractions and everything on the show. >> carson we love it when radar comes to see us. what it's like with charlie around the set all the time. >> you know it's so cool and what's fun is the guests that come on the today show i mean they are here in this iconic plaza and on the show and that's cool but now they come into the orange room where i and my roommate charlie and they make a beeline and go for charlie and take selfies and charlie met more famous people than any of us. and they are more excited to see carly than to be on show. it really i mean, i guess as you know with radar it's like bringing a pet into your family. >> right. >> all the wonderful things that pets bring to our families. so, but like olivia said, he's tripled in size. i don't know if you've seen radar get bigger. >> yeah. >> charlie is huge.
